  1. Yeah, quite like the 6 series but got the jag urge, plus it has a supercharger, need to sell the 350Z and then see what I have to spend.
  2. Its the XJR I am after, "X350" variant, from 2002 to about 2008, probably budget wise about a 2004/2005 and that has the benefit of being slightly lower VED, am paying £500 on my 350Z and can imagine that would be the only aspect cheaper about running a 400 bhp Supercharged Jag ! Not after a diesel, no point for the mileage I do, I can stomach the 350Zs thirst and I cant imagine the Jag is that much worse, plus can run it on Normal unleaded, if its costing too much I use another car, work from home or go on my bike, I reckon on 15 - 25 mpg for the Jag and about 18 to 28 for the 350Z. I think the jags handle pretty well, a bit on the soft side but Jags have always been like that, used to watch banger racing and the old Jags always went round corners very well, proper independent suspension all round. Fancy an auto for a change, love the 350Zs change (when warm) but I want to try an auto, driven loads, just never had one as a daily. Am looking at about 8 to 10 grand, not sure what my zed is worth, gunmetal 2007 296 vert with 39k, full cobra exhaust, throttle controller but otherwise standard, 2 owners, not perfect cosmetically but well looked after with fsh, £7700 ? will put an ad up on here.
  3. And dont get points or crash !
  4. Wait until you are 44 and you can insure one for £176 for the year, about the only benefit of being old, dont worry too much as like the man above said, your time will come, dont miss out on lads holidays and stuff to run a fast car, it is kind of forcing it if you are paying a fortune for the insurance, get mobile and build some NCD.
  5. We remapped our Fiesta Ecoboost and it went from 100 bhp to 140 with 180 lb/ft and is a proper little nutter now, doesnt feel that much slower than my zed, I told them about the remap, they didnt ask about relative power outputs but just put it down as an ECU Chip" and charged us another £18.
  6. I got mine from them, all hooked up nicely but you do need to do the "Buster" mod as otherwise the aftermarket one will be too quiet.
  7. Gunmetal, wanted an azure but my missus said its too "young" a colour for a bloke over 40, I got a grey one as that is what I found and to keep her happy, then I realised her car was a bright metallic blue ! Apparently that is different as it was small hatchback ? Women !
  8. Also, am 45 now, perhaps ready for that auto box and old school grandad Jag.
  9. After two years with my 350Z, I think I want a change, I fancy something that will "waft" Anyone gone in that direction and did you regret it ? I am quite fond of the zed but I reckon life is a bit short to keep the same car for ages, I want to try all different types, never had a car that I couldnt part with, zed is near but there is always another out there if I change my mind.
  10. I got one and thought they were equal but its only 0.8 amps, does the job but its slower than it could be, make sure you get a car one and not a caravan one like I did !
  11. That does ring a bell now you mention it.
  12. managed 28 as a maximum and 18 as a minimum.
  13. We have one on retention but I find it makes the car too easy to spot, but then I suppose being a zed it is anyway.
  14. Surely it cant have gained a passengers worth of weight with the minor changes, would be interesting to get them on a weighbridge and get actual figures.
  15. I did mine, Pioneer HU, £170 to do for HU and adaptors etc, not a job I want to repeat in a hurry but do-able.
  16. Surely a Dam Badger would be a Beaver ?
  17. I did disks front and pads all round for less that £200, brakes are a doddle on a 350Z, and pretty cheap, they work very well also. Any car can be done a lot cheaper if you do stuff yourself, I did relent last week as the weather was crap and paid £70 to have my Y pipe fitted, but normally would do it myself, a supercar is only a car, its only trying to keep some semblance of main dealer history that would stop me, the brakes on an R8 are just brakes (unless carbon, then they wont need doing anyway) and to be honest I prefer my own work as I know how much effort I put in, not bound by the clock and making a profit.
  18. Well, ordered one off Ebay, from a seller called, hilariously "2fast2cool" but cant fault it, ordered it yesterday lunchtime and it arrived today at 10 AM, well packed and all intact, it turns out to be the Japspeed one and to my untrained eye the quality looked pretty good, certainly no glaringly obvious faults. I was going to fit it but remember the misery of putting the rest of it on, barely any room to move, operating a grinder and a drill to get the studs out so, for once in my life deferred to the professionals and took it to the tyre and exhaust place in walking distance, dropped it off and two hours later they rang me to come and get it, they relieved me of what I thought was a slightly enthusiastic £70 but what price grovelling under a tonne and a half or more of finest Japanese ironmongery on axle stands with bits of oxidised exhaust in your eyes. I generally do everything myself so this time, a little bit of the luxury that other people have with getting cars fixed. The fitter said it went on fairly easily once the bolts had been dealt with and fits very well, they have obviously decided aftermarket exhaust fitting is ok nowadays as a few years back they said no way when I tried to get one done on a Golf. It sounds a lot better, the blowing is so annoying, sounds much smooth and feels more grunty low down. Only time will tell if its any good but so far the £120 Japspeed item doesnt seem like bad value, cant image its much worse than the OEM exhaust. So £190 all in, quite happy with that, thanks for all the advice.
