  1. This isn't helping but my 07 33k mile convertible only cost that ! Knackered exhaust notwithstanding
  2. Sounded like a lovely service. Rest In Pee Lol, very good, he was inturd this afternoon.
  3. Gone for the resonated, didnt fancy the added drone. Slug was buried at sea (well the bog) shrouded in tissue
  4. Guns Easi Bleed is a life saver
  5. Chubbster, I hold you personally responsible for the death on an innocent Slug, your post set off my paranoia so I scuttled off to check my oil having realised I only checked it before leaving for the 150 mile drive and the another 150 miles since I got back, oil level was exactly where it was when I checked it the other day, the slug died as I entered the garage and stood on it, barefoot ! So, quite happy that it's not using much or any oil, as if 300 miles means its not moved, it probably is ok, a relief. I find with oil sage you get into a checking and top up routine, some use none, some a little and some drink it, my worst being a Fiat Coupe Turbo, that was a litre every couple of hundred, it was screwed, my Saab 9-3 Aero used a bit but not a big deal, hoping at 33k this is still new enough to avoid it for a while yet.
  6. Mine was registered March 07, I did read that the early 06 ones had the oil problem, I do check it regularly anyway, kind of hoping it isn't an oil guzzler, doubt the previous owner checked it much as, though a nice chap he wasn't what you would call super knowledgeable. It won't be doing huge miles, was serviced 1000 miles ago and oil was pretty much to the top of the range, no evidence of sloppage, oil cartons or anything. Just ordered a new exhaust, the Cobra one, I like the current noise but it's a little over the top.
  7. Just ordered the resonated version from CS based on this thread, seeing as my new zed has a bacbix not attached to the rest of the exhaust, thought it was a bit loud !
  8. Think Milltek maybe more than I want to pay, have enough left in the budget but don't want to spend the lot on an exhaust, am thinking more like £500 or less., only paid seven grand for the car, got it cheaper, 07 GT convertible with 33k and full Nissan history due to a few dents, a nick in the hood and kerbed wheels, have two grand left but need to do those bits and keep a bit by. Might whip the oem one off and get busy with the mig, well one way or another I will, repair the original for refitting if I decide to have a change, loving it so far, broken exhaust notwithstanding !
  9. I now know why its louder, the back box has parted company at the flange, so, new back box/exhaust required, any suggestions, dont want to spend thousands, might see if I can re-weld the flange back on but looks like an opportunity for somethign better than stock.
  10. I did look at the S2000, but had a four cylinder 944 with 3 litres and the associated torque before and felt that I didnt want a peaky engine, I like the Zeds waft factor, you dont have to thrap it to get moving and its happy ambling, the S2000 seems a bit hyperactive realtive to what I wanted, I wanted the top down aspect so got a convertible Zed, probably not as pretty as the S2K but has its own thing going, I love the looks of the S2K but always think the windscreen looks too upright. Not going to slag one off because I have the other, it was a tough call, I found it easier to ignore ther Boxster and Z4, again both great cars but the Boxster has the engine issues of IMS/RMS and the Z4 is perhaps a little too smooth for its own good, someone on Pistonheads likened the 350Z to a big daft dog on a slippery floor which I kind of liked, it has personality, the Z4 seemed a bit aloof. MX5s are great also but 150 or so bhp wants going to cut it. It is however nice to have this kind of choice of quality coupes and roadsters at pretty affordable prices, ok the VED on the 350 Z is horrific, as are post 2006 S2K's but insurance is suprisingly reasonable and running costs not as horrific as some diesel owners would have you beleive.
  11. Wow, thanks, this must be the most helpful and positive forum I have ever been on ! Will digest properly at home tonight and may get ordering,
  12. I have spotted a few Double din Android type headunits on Ebay, they dont seem that expensive, is this because they are rubbish, I emailed a car audio place and the reply was, "the problem with your car is the Bose amplified system this requires special adaptors to allow a new sysetms to be fitted to the car these can cost upto £150." Is this correct, £150 just to wire it into the car, I was thinking I could spend perhaps £300 on a head unit and perhaps £100 to get it fitted, fitting, new bezel, wires etc. Not after improving the sound quality (yet) as relative to my previous car it is a lot better, but want to improve the functionality so I can use memory cards, video capability, have bluetooth and possibly GPS. The car audio guy went on to suggest I would need to spend £1200 or more and I am not about to do that, £500, preferably less is my budget.
  13. Welcome to the forums . I read on here once that the 313 roadsters have a slightly different exhaust note (but of course that could be a load of rubbish ) Pete Mines a 296, single air filter and no bulge in the bonnet, I am just thinking from when he started his it made a nice noise but mine seems louder, not complaining, it sounds wonderful. My commute is only seven miles, cycle it most of the time but obviously, new toy means I can't face the push bike, this week at least, it is more compelling than the 944, mainly as it won't be up on axle stands most of the time like that was, just get in it and drive. Surprised at the mpg, but then it will potter at 1200 rpm in top doing 45 or thereabouts.
  14. Cheers ! Have a few quid left in my budget, and should have some spare cash monthly now not saving to buy it. I just drove home very steadily, just to see what it would do, had a boot full of shopping, now I know mpg isn't what you buy one of these for but it claims it was doing 32 mpg, even if that is optimistic by some margin was still doing ok, my old 944 was worse on fuel.
  15. Hi just decided to register after collecting my 2007 350Z GT Convertible on Saturday. I had a nice 944 Cabrio before but fancied something more modern and less labour intensive. its a gunmetal one with one owner and 33k, few dings to sort out, the wheels have soem kerbing and the hood has a little nick in it but I got it for a very good price. Anyway, love the 350Z so far, nice havign all the modern amenities, going to try and leave it standard. I did think about getting a more vocal exhaust but I cant beleive how loud it is as standard, it sounds epic, my neighbour had a coupe for a while, I dotn remember it being as loud is this, do they vary, is mine blowing, guess I need to get under and have a look. The only change I will be deifnitely making is replacing the head unit, I quite fancy an LCD screened Double Din one with memory card support but would prefer to keep the steering wheel controls and it not look too out of place, any suggestions as to what model, has anyone got an Android one, woudlnt mind being able to run ODB apps on it. Other observations other than the loudness, I thought there was somethign wrong with it yesterday, booted it out of a bend and it lost power, did it today out of a greasy juction, I am assuming that this is the ESP/TCS being hyper vigilant, if it is, its pretty intrusive, was driving a Mustang 5.0 in the states a few months back and that allowed a bit of slip before gently reigning you in where this seems to stand no messing whatsoever.
