  1. So girlfriend decides to take her car (Mini cooper 2008) for an MOT and it fails on rear brake pads, quoted £180 to replace. Advised this was to much but she went ahead anyway. Next day she texts me complaining the car sounds like a helicopter, next thing I know the car completely locks the rear wheels and has to be towed to the nearest garage. Bear in mind she has two young kids in the back of her car and if this had happened on the motorway I shudder to think what would of happened. At the garage the mechanic removes wheel and it turns out they had put the caliper bolt in only finger tight as the caliper just fell off! He took photos and wrote a statement saying what he had seen, and also saying this was the worst kind of thing he had seen in 20 years. The mechanic who carried out the original work went to pick her up to tow her car back to the garage and offered her £500 not to say anything as he didn't want to lose his job, she turned this down. The girlfriend goes back to the original garage and basically gets mugged off, the owner tells her hes ran this place for 8 years and never had a complaint and he even broke his £140 tool removing the calipers. Shes fearful to go back, im fuming and want to go and cause a stink as to me its pretty serious.
  2. So if you put the tyres you advised on these on a standard car, would they sit flush in the arch?

    mpss

He's not kidding, I have done 8000 miles on mine (rears fitted sept 2013) and they look brand new
  4. MPSS have really come down, I paid 186 for the rears in Sept 2013. I have seen the fronts as low as £126 and the rears around £150 recently.
  5. I remember a case of safeway fuel destroying a rangerover engine years back at a garage that I used to use, They successfully got safeway to replace the engine. The times I put this in my AXGT (3rd car :-) ) it was noticeably flatter, from this I've never bothered with asda or morrissions fuel. Tesco momentum is good though.
  6. I don't use it for the HP benefit, just to know I am putting the best quality fuel in the car. I would never use supermarket fuel either.
  7. Why would you buy a sport car and run it on anything else?! I have used Vpower in every car I have owned, even though my zed and my Focus ST are the only ones that required it.
  8. How much did all that cost you if you do not mind telling. Keith I bought the bits in stages, I reckon im about 800 - 900 into it now including fitting. It cost me 220 plus VAT to be fitted. Dual It was frankly bloody awful, it was so high the biting point, I adjusted it down and this was good for about 1000 miles and after it then started to fail to return all the way out. There was no snap when you let the clutch out, it felt like it was dragging for 1-2 seconds before the clutch was fully engaged and you could get on the power. Hard shirts the car would constantly over rev. Now it feels more firmer to press down and feels like it wants to push my leg back up to release the clutch. The gear change is instant, it bites straight away. The car feels quicker as it gets on the power a lot sooner. Its made the car go from a complete misery in heavy traffic (the hotter it got the worse it would shudder) to a real pleasure, I cant stop smiling when I drive it now. Heal and toeing it now has become a lot easier too.
  9. Fantastic car, the 2.3 should be a litttle faster than a 350 to 60 from what I have read and seen, the 5.0 should be mid 4's to 60. Theres a video on youtube where they drag race a camaro 6.2 and they were about even at 4.4 to 60. I want one, guards green please.
  10. Wonder if this being priced so cheaply will force Nissan to drop their prices on the 370
  11. Had all the above fitted yesterday and it's like a different car! No more nearly smashing my knee in my face letting the clutch out, no more judder, no more sticking pedal. If your thinking of doing it, get it done, the car drives so much better for it. Before it felt hard work to drive, now it's a pleasure. Very happy man and big thanks to Pete at Demon Performace for fitting it.
  12. Hi mate, i will have this off you, I just need to check at dinner if I have the right sat nav. Car is a 2007 registered Rev-up.
  13. Driven a lot of cars, but one that sticks in memory is how hateful the megane 225 was to drive.
  14. This is frankly fantastic! So much want! Is this the 135i M sport car? 3litre twin turbo? How do you know if the car you are looking at is a N54 without physically looking at the vin?
  15. Will this be ok to use on the jacking point at the front of the car?
  16. Will i need an up-rev to get the most out of this ?
  17. Had mine 16 months and flew through the MOT last Saturday. I do need to replace the front pads but thats no biggy and was an excuse to buy some Ferodo DS2500. Shes crying out for a clutch change also but I cannot see I will be selling this for a while, only two cars I would consider and thats a 370GT or a Mustang for replacements.
  18. I have just bought a set of these for the frond of my 350. Do you guys follow the normal brake in procedure? IE 60 to 40 multiple times? Or because there a different compound use a different method? Also does anyone know the size of the cotter pins for the calipers? I want to get a few spare as when we did the rears one broke when removing it.
