  1. Cool, not sure of the chemistry but I was concerned that solvents may dissolve the paint. I guess it's ok if the detailing guys use it.
  2. Wow, almost 50 MPG, impressed! Not that you're likely to get that again, now that the point is proven
  3. Didn't realise these were so cheap, looks great for the cash as long as it's doesn't break
  4. I use some gentle water flow, some APC cleaning product along with a soft paintbrush to aggravate the nooks & crannies. Finish with autoglym trim.
  5. Ah ok not so bad then. Just hope the Volvo isn't a diseasel though
  6. Are these dual clutch? Not a fan of autos in general, but particularly not torque converters. Would be nice if it's dual clutch so it drives like a manual.
  7. Out of interest, does anyone know if the Nardi wheels will bolt straight up to a Mk1 MX-5? My mate recently bought one and it looks like a Nardi fitted as standard. He wants to switch it for a deep dish. Cheers.

    Winter tyres

lol unstoppable in a good way! I remember the fun when I overtook a land rover on a country road covered in snow, the driver was clearly enraged as he flashed the headlights about 20 times! I could no longer see him in the mirror within a few bends though so no idea if he kept flashing them all the way home in a rage
  9. They do look far better than standard wheels. When I bought my Z, Rays were high on the list of desirable features.
  10. Should've bought an old 850 T5-R for a couple of grand and keep the Z for fun
  11. I have a full set of Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 ready to go on, mainly as I rate their wet performance and let's face it in the uk wet performance is more important than dry in my opinion.

    Winter tyres

BTW I didn't use the Z in snow so can't comment specifically on this car, but my BMW had winters and combined with LSD was pretty unstoppable in typical snow found within the uk.

    Winter tyres

Agreed that winters are a great idea. People complain about RWD in snow but with the correct tyres they are fine (better than a FWD with summers in general, and loads better under braking).
  14. Look for signage at the site where you parked. Unless it's very clear and prominent, and there's no reasonable way you could enter and park without seeing it, they have no chance of enforcing. These things are basically done under contract law, so they have to show that you've "agreed" to the contract by parking. I got one years ago in the hart hill services car park. Binned the ticket, got a letter through the post. Binned that too and heard nothing again.
  15. No dust up here in Scotland, just rain!
  16. Done the wash in the rain thing too... if it's dirty enough after a long drive it can't hurt!
  17. Thanks. The wax is already on, so maybe I'll try that before the next time I need to reapply the wax
  18. Good job mate, that looks really smooth!
  19. Another vote for C4. Used it on my BMW E36 328i Sport about 18 months before I sold it, and it still came up like new after a quick wash. Well worth the price in reduced effort, and the bottle goes a surprisingly long way.
  20. I use the G-Techniq stuff (T4 I think) and it's pretty good in my opinion. Seems to need a pretty well cleaned tyre though to last any length of time.
  21. I like the look of wax, but can I add something like AG Extra Gloss Protection to get some extra surface shine? I know it doesn't last anywhere near as long as the wax, but I'm not too bothered about that.
  22. Thanks - looks reasonable at $50, although I bet when it arrives in the UK it's closer to £100 :O Definitely makes the App Radio more of an appealing option.
  23. Thanks mate. That kind of thing is along the right lines, although the huge silver volume dial is a bit out of place. Could definitely be doing with a bigger display too - 8 characters is fine for RDS radio, but a few more characters is useful when browsing MP3 lists containing thousands of songs etc Unfortunately at the price it's probably on a par with the standard head unit in terms of sound quality
