  2. I thought thermal was to stop heat from engine getting to plenum? Yeah it can get pretty cold in scotland. Thanks for the advice though much appreciated
  3. Hey just wondering if theres a diy in this forum that i have overlooked? Planning to d.iy. found some videos on youtube is it really necessary to change gaskets, use loctite on washers and use torque wrench? Should it just be a case of bolt on and get an uprev? Also issit worth getting the iso thermal spacers and thermal throttlebody gasket considering i live in scotland? Much appreciated Saskhi
  4. My purple one has arrived from smudgeon just want to double check its a straight bolt on? no need for any gaskets or sealant or anything? And is a torque wrench really necessary? Thanks Saskhi
  5. Why remove them for f.i? Are these not as strong as oem ones?
  6. harsh!!!! it was amber!!!!!! 3points n 60fine...

  7. Ahh.. so technically i dont even need it for my car to function at optimum? I just thought the readings would be processed back to ecu to differ a/f or something but if its just to tell you if cats are functioning then a bypass would suffice! What if i just deleted the code using obd r/w and just filled in the holes would that be a problem?
  8. Just thought id chime in my Vdc kicks in alot less since i changed to mpss all round compared to the original re050. But what was really strange was some roads where the vdc kicks in on my mpss, when i turn off vdc driving exactly the same revs, gear steering angle the tyres dont spin at all, I think the Vdc is overprotective sometimes. I also tried standing start 0-60 with the new tyres and vdc kicked in on 2nd, but with it turned off wot shifting into second the tyres didnt spin at all just gripped and went, does this mean my vdc is overcautious or its settings are messed because of new tyre sizes? Saskhi
  9. Same problem as quoted had to get my engine light reset a couple of times now, so I guess we are agreeing the spacer just screws on to the existing Berks fitting? Presumedly the extra length does not interfere with any part of the engine-exhaust area? Alex if your reading this, a nod of the head gets you a sale You have the nod mate The extra O2 simulator should not interfere with the undercarriage and providing they are not pointing downwards then you will also have enough ground clearance. Alex Hey Alex, do you still have these in stock? I was also wondering placing the sensor further from where its supposed to be, will it not give inaccurate readings for the ecu? or is it the other way round it places it to optimum position for sensor readings? or do the sensor readings not effect the ecu in any other way? Also people that have the check light that comes on sometimes why is that? And would heat wrapping your decat help at all? Thanks Saskhi
  10. My worst memory of a vauxhall was flipping a rental corsa into a field due to supersoft/knackered suspension and cornering way too hard! Rolled quite a distance there was parts everywhere wheels came off, boot was bent open roof caved in.. but in fairness it was a really old corsa and i was a tw*t at 17!
  11. ouch.... are shelbys really that powerful?!? Gives a new meaning to.. "tearing it up on the dyno"
  12. ok thanks its just someone has a set of 350z brake lines stated for brembo just wondering if they would fit my 05 renewed brake system.
  13. hahaha Ok thanks il try the base one first thanks Alex!
  14. Hey i was wondering how do you adjust the handbrake? My handbrake seems to be pointing to the sky now.. is there a way to set it lower again before it was 3clicks and then its solid but over the past month its went to almost 8clicks..
  15. Are the brake lines really needed or are they the same as non brembos?
  16. Step away from the car. Seriously. You need to take the maf out of the tube and spray the bit that is exposed to the air stream. Lmao Its ok now i sat it for an hour to dry as i was scared id drenched it too much! I did a reset ecu and i think its doing ok, on top of that i feel as if the fuel consumption maybe slightly better...or i could be kidding myself on so that my afternoon messing about with the maf and throttle body wasnt a waste of time!
  17. haha sounds like fun to me! Iv seen some s2000 tuned for the wangan with JGTC bodykits and crazy horsepower! Always loved them!
  18. Finally!!!! If they conquer the Nurburgring then its definately on my list! Yeah they are even teaming up with mclaren to go back into formula1! Cant wait. Yeah thats why i would stick to the charger! Yeah but like they say no replacement for displacement! Well if either of us become rich some way il take up the challenge of building my crx to vs your ep3! Time attack on track as going straight lines is just about bhp!
  19. Yeah I know what you mean! I just wish i bought the Nsx 5years ago when they were around 12grand, now they have rocketed to 30+grand! Yeah honda have just went with technology and energy saving route, while other hot hatches are pushing 300+bhp!?! But i suppose thats the scene in Japan right now and its what dictates the japanese market these days, the prices you see on evos and skylines etc are dirt cheap you would be surprised at what you could pick up for a couple of grand! Most of them just sitting on forecourts with huge specs and top parts for cheap! Importers are raking in the money btw! haha Im glad i started driving in the vtec era those named engines are possibly the best na powerplants made in history! however if they do pick up there boots and start bringing out supercharged this and turbocharged that with vtec... that would definately get my attention! Or il just go ahead with my plans and build a toy... a bullet shaped CRX Mugen kitted, drop in an S2000 dash in there, dc5 buckets, then engine wise il drop in a k20 head bolted to accord k24 bottomend and strap a big supercharger on it! and with the 800kg curb weight im sure i will take out those Vxr, ST's and RS's and what not! but realistically that would be years away before i can start that as im on project Skyline now
  20. ....did battery reset and now its idling high
  21. Hey guys erm.. im looking at the maf sensor right now its got a silverish metal plate and a hole with wires and resistors... which part do i spray or do you just drench the whole thing?
  22. New pads on tried emergency stop..had to peel myself from the windscreen forgot to put my seatbelt on! =_='

  23. Welcome give into to your impulses and go for it! As if your anything like me you will be looking at another car by then too many choices out there! lol
  24. After getting used to the gearbox, which feels a tad sloppy compared to previous box's in my Honda's, it's great. Not having to redline the engine to get a perfect shift or stay in the power band is also strange. That said the usable, accessible power is great. Also I find the car very stiff and responsive at medium speeds, which is great and gives confidence when pressing on. The grip is good too, turns in well, without any hint of understeer, with a progressive, hint of oversteer when you get on the power. The cabin is bright and spacious, with lots of comforts. Too many buttons in the steering wheel for my liking though, I'll be honest. The synchro rev match gearbox makes me lazy but gets it perfect every time. I can imagine its great on infield tracks mind you. Seats are good, offer good support for OEM seats. I may look at some Brides though. Tyres are loud, but give good grip, REO50's. Brake pedal could do with firming up a rad too, hopefully some lines and fluid will help sure that up a bit. So far, very very pleased with it . Hihi How was the s2000? Iv always wanted one from being a Vtec man back in the day! But this time round needing 4 seats ticked the s2000 off my list...
