You don't have to do both windows .you can get the mechanism separate from the motor the harsh noise is the cable and guide pulley failing use the original motor. It's easy to reset the auto function . put the window down hold the button for 30 seconds put the window up hold button for 30 seconds.

I'll go with what's already mentioned do a compression test . Im assuming that you always use premium petrol it's well known that standard unleaded wrecks z engines.

If the cam and crank sensors don't stay within specified limits of each other the ECU will retard the timing stretched chain would be my thoughts. -

Welcome to the forum .my father will be 66 just after new year and drives a continental gt like he stole it he was made to do one of those driver awareness courses last year because of a heavy right foot.

If he had eny decency he would move out and let your mum rent to someone else that can afford what it's worth. Set a date and make sure he is packed and ready to leave when it comes.

I done mine on a four post ramp used the ramp jack to lift the car put two stands on the ramp under the factory points.then used the ramp jack under the lower arm to keep the spring compressed remove the bolt that go through the bush let the jack down spring comes out. Feals the same as it always did.

Search for drive shaft clicking thers loads of threads some only re greased joints and cleaned up splines others have replaced shafts.

When you say clicky axels don't you mean clicky drive shafts.
