  1. They have done a really good job with it i must admit. I bet a set of mpss on those 20" rims would be eye watering. There must be a massive market for these at that price range when you take into account the new 1 serise, A class and A3. These are not to far over the 30k mark minus the A class and have straight line speed that would have 911s worried. I can see the appeal.
  2. Think the new one is supposed to be pretty good at handling as FWD goes. Jez was pretty impressed with the front diff in the new VXR.
  3. Nice wheel mate, like them
  4. Yep, that was me that said it. The RS is considerably quicker (I test drove one), the ST is pretty comparable (my brother has one, Ive done 500+ miles in it) and the EP3 and old VXR arent "current", obviously. Moreover, having been on track recently with a few well driven 182's and theres very little in it. Introduce rain in any of these situations and the FWD is going to be showing you the way. You might struggle to believe its true, as I said earlier get out and drive a VXR or FRS and you'll realise what Im talking about. I wasn't saying the 350z was better than all hatchbacks just to say the average hot hatch is better is being a ridiculous. If you are talking about being on track I certainly wouldn't want to be in the VXR. Much rather be in the RWD Zed or the small clio but thats just my opinion on that.
  5. I got caught up with a new shape focus st with mountune stickers all over it the other day. Obviously had some sort of work done as the exhaust wasn't standard and it was giving the odd puff of black smoke when he was on wot. We had a bit of a play on some private roads. I was surprised at how quick it was out of roundabouts (2nd gear) but after that it was clear the zed had the legs on it. I don't no what power it was but the mountune must have meant something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk New ST is a really nice car as well and again would be very close to the Zed and with a decent tune very fast. I knew you could buy the mountune version of the fiesta zetec S and new ST but didn't know you could with the focus. I think you can drive fater in a FWD and not be a good driver which I think is the biggest appeal to own a hot hatch. I find out I am not a good driver more often in the Zed which is strangly the appeal I have for it
  6. this place always has haters, every other forum think their cars could beat anything and the usual suspects on here slating it then saying but its ok because I like it,,,,, Having an astra VXR means you need to explain to the girl whose pants you are trying to get into that its not a normal astra but infact a fast one. I actually like it as I said I am surprised he beat it off the line earlier in this conversation but considering you can go onto autotrader and put in the 350z and 100 mile radius and only 5 or 6 for sale says it all. More kerb appeal ? ? Someone also said the average hot hatch will destroy the 350z,,,, honestly,,,, sure it isn't a micra you own? ? My mates have all the suspect hothatches. EP3, ST, VXR (old one) and focus RS. My engine is completely standard and not one of them would touch my car bar the RS. Off the line, rolling start, reversing or who's window goes up the fastest It isn't the best car in the world and you can be realistic but that doesn't mean you need to take the ****.
  7. £700, you could rent stirling castle for that up here I am 23 and make bit above average and still stay with the parents...... I only pay 180 a month for the Zed and think thats ample. I could afford a lot more but then you tie yourself down and you aren't as flexible. I think you can judge how much you can afford with how mcuh money you have left with your current finance(assuming its on finance) When you moving up to Jockland?
  8. Thanks for the oil mate i am sure a small shot of nos will be enough
  9. No chance on a wet day with front wheel drive. Dry day will be close but zed will pump it. My mate has one mapped by dastek and I'm still faster without the nos. 280ps vxr 0.62 is 5.6. As i said of the line it should have the edge, rolling am not so sure. Ahh i'm forgetting you guys have the older slower zed The 300ps is 5.6 standard 300ps is 5.8 and you need to stop at 50mph to top up the oil
  10. No chance on a wet day with front wheel drive. Dry day will be close but zed will pump it. My mate has one mapped by dastek and I'm still faster without the nos. 280ps vxr 0.62 is 5.6. As i said of the line it should have the edge, rolling am not so sure.
  11. Off the line it should have had you,,, guy obv shifting like his granny
  12. That sounds about right to me tbh, the only variable rating factor is the car. If you are low risk then the car shouldn't make that much of a difference. Most insurance companies either start everyone with a min price and add on for the bad ratings or they start high and deducte. Your area, age, job etc might be a higher rating factor and the car infact isn't the biggest variable
  13. I love that even on the vauxhall forum they even say,,, its an astra I really couldn't think of anything worse than going to a VXR meet. I went to a few last year with a strong turn out of the "twats". Once the first 2 cars came past doing "handbrake" turns I left.... the guy doing the car needs to apply some detailing to his head,,, tosser excuse my scottish.
  14. Infiniti glasgow do a rate of £55 per hour, probz £250 wouldn't be far off.
  15. Get them lasered off if you don't like them, I've had a couple removed and the results were good They are hidden and I don't hate them,,, just really pointless
  16. I have the most pointless tattoos, make sure you are happy with it if it is always going to visable
  17. Great service by CS, thanks for the help guys
  18. Thanks again guys, really quick turn around even with it being holiday season! !
  19. Also, no FWD ever goes in the category of sports. I love hot hatches, but I'd rather a slower sports car than a fast scrabble-wagon. Couldnt agree more
  20. What is the league dependant on? An astra VXR might not be a million miles away in performance but at the end of the day it is an Astra
  21. Put the car into Infiniti after a few recomendations from the guys up here. Getting a P1 service as it got a P3 10 months ago, Gearbox oil with molyslip Front drop links 4 wheel alignment They gave me this beast while it was in being worked on. 3.0D actually quite quick for a big lump totally different driving experience and one I don't think I requrie for another 20 years
