  1. We tried the whats it worth thread, that didnt work for whatever reason, but a for sale thread is just that, a seller can ask what ever they think, its nothing to with you, me or anyone else. They will soon find out if the item doesnt sell. Classifieds arent supposed to be anything but dull, their not for you to fill yourself full of your own self importance to what you think an item is worth. The people that will read them are the ones wanting to buy and will make an offer if they think the price is too high, not troll through posts about what people think and if it really concerns you, pm the guy, not crap on his advert. At the very least, the valuations "being offered" is nothing more than speculation based on opinion not facts of actually selling a car.
  2. Seems to be getting common with people making comments on for sale threads, pricing, item etc Can we have something put in the posting rules regarding this, for sale adds shouldnt be a playground for people to have opinions, if your not interested, stay off
  3. Going to get on my high horse here Commenting on for sale adds is becoming a bit of a habit on here at the moment (price, item), had it on a few of mine, no one is asking for opinion of price or comments on the item, its a for sale add If your interested and think the price is to high, make an offer, if not and your bored and have nothing better to do, there are plenty of cars for sale in Britain where you can mail the buyer and tell them their price is too high. I would imagine their response will be a lot more colourful and less diplomatic than Camys. Incidentally i sold my jdm for a lot more than £5k for the pricing gurus
  4. Purple is awesome but you probably wont pull it off on std rays with no lip
  5. As with every other insurance based thread, if there is a way out of paying, they will find it. If the car was stolen at night from your home address rather than the stored address, it will not be a simple claim thats for sure
  6. I believe the HR was the "fix", and was probably never intended for the 350Z. This is evident the fact the original 350Zs had grooved bonnets as well as the replacement 370Z - yet the HR 350Zs had a bulged bonnet (bare with me here while I attempt to explain my absurd reasoning!). The RevUp was introduced for the 2006 model year with the facelifted model, and was probably intended to last the remaining 3 years of the car's life cycle. However, there was a lot of noise from the USA about the oil consumption issue, with Nissan attempting engine replacements under warranty (sometimes more than once) to solve the problem. I think when they realised they couldn't solve the issue (at least in a short period of time) and that legal action in the States was imminent, they panicked. It was then decided that as a quick and easy fix for the last couple of years and to save their reputation, they would take the freshly engineered VQ35HR, developed for the brand new 2007 model G35, and integrated into the 350Z in a hurry for the 2007 model year. The bulged bonnet was designed in order to "fit" the taller HR into the existing space the DE occupied without carrying out the more detailed and more expensive modifications to the chassis/engine required to have the engine sit lower to retain the original styling. It would appear that this compromise in styling was deemed acceptable in order to get the new car ready as quickly and cheaply as possible. The replacement 370Z (only a couple of years later) then revived the original intended Z car design with a grooved bonnet. Of course, this is speculation based on my own research. Feel free to discuss and/or rip my theory to bits! I very much doubt Nissan identified the problem through sold cars, redesigned the lump, tested etc in such a relatively short timescale, most upgrades are planned, designed well in advance.
  7. You can always keep your car at another address legitimately, mine is not kept at my home address and the insurance company has been notified, it made no difference as the postcode carried the same loading. If it gets stolen from your home address you probably wont get paid out however.
  8. Why not just weld said eyelets onto said harness bar, I would petsonally feel a lot more comfortable with that than the strut brace
  9. Yes and no, the are no problems as such but ride and handling will be compromised.
  10. The disc is fine, it's just on the wrong side of the car How on earth can you see that from that photo?!? The disc is grooved and drilled, you can see the direction the groove goes. Bet they wonder why they are going through brake pads really quickly? Doesn't matter which way the grooves go on the disc to which side it goes ... All depends on the vein direction ^^^^^ The truth
  11. Best part of an Rx7 Similar images have floated around for a while with the talk it will be the new RX, looks awesome. Yamaha looks cool, not from the side though. Lexus, looks like they didnt scale the photo right and its stretched to fit the page
  12. Is the Tarmac sportz one nut pu?
  13. It is scary some prices, just couldnt help you with buying a s body at those prices
  14. They have done studies you know, 60% of the time it works every time Smells like bigfoots d*ck
  15. Interesting topic really, human reaction and driver instinct will differ drastically so dont doubt some people would avoid the above, where as others would just freeze and hit the brakes when its too late. This autopilot "may" be great but what about the dude behind who hasnt been paying attention and ploughs straight into the back of you, fine its not your fault, but still going to hurt
  16. Which is probably what they'd do if they were looking at a claim of £500K if you cripple a baby for life. Couple of grand spent investigating is nothing, and then they get to come after you for that £500K... It's no different to driving the Ring, you're uninsured there too and your insurer will happily come after you for the costs if you have an accident. Agreed, which is pretty much what it says in my post
  17. The assesor would need uprev software and at that point could find out if the car has a license to be fair, most likely scenario would be they would employ a tuner (horsham, abbey) etc to check, but as you say, would have to be pretty serious for them to go to those lengths. If you have given your insurer your club info, they could just look on here to see an excited post about your uprev figures What if you buy a car that has been mapped but you dont know? Simple thing is just tell them and if you think your having your pants pulled down, try another insurer.
  18. Above also raises issue too, any quoted flywheel hp figure from a dyno will be an assumption.
  19. Unless insurance companies have access to tuners database, there isnt a chance in hell an assesor would know if the parameters have been changed and they would need an uprev license
  20. Did you get these ordered up dude?
  21. This was about the only other car on the radar when i had my 350z up for sale, couldnt believe the price, makes the 350 seem awesome value for money.
