Boxster/Cayman 981s or 987.2 next step, Life after Z

Serving costs are broadly comparable. You can elect to do extra things like PDK fluid that are “lifetime”, if you wish. Attached a copy of my latest one, there’s nothing secret here, the menu prices are on this specialist's website. As for other bits and pieces, I replaced the exhaust due to the valves seizing. That was £1500, which is for a genuine Porsche part, not dissimilar to prices for an aftermarket option on a Z, but I imagine it’s more than a genuine Nissan unit would be. Also, I recently had a rear damper fail, that was £600 per axle to fix, so not exactly cheap (for Bilstein OEM replacement). Some places wanted £800 an axle. These are parts prices, not including labour. Tyres are tyres, on any sports coupe with a decent sized set of wheels. Mine returns 40mpg+ on long runs, but even when I drive enthusiastically or around town it doesn’t drop below 20. VED was £330 last year, not sure what it is on a 370. I did test drive a 370 a few years ago, enjoyed it, but didn’t buy it. It felt heavier and less nimble in every way, more GT than out and out sports car. The engine is different, more keen to be rev’d in the Cayman, rather less agricultural than the Z. Actually “agricultural” is unfair on the Z, but you get the idea of smoothness and quicker to spin up. The Cayman with the sport chassis option or PASM rides very nicely indeed, it never crashes or feels unsettled. Inside the Z doesn’t really compare to the Cayman GTS interior quality of materials, but it’s not in the same price bracket, so that is to be expected and I’ve not been inside a 981 S without all the alcantara etc. Simple things like the switches and buttons and door handles are just finer. The PDK is a subjective thing, I can’t imagine any auto box that is better than it, but for someone who wants manual involvement, I totally understand how that transcends all of the technical superiority of the PDK versus rowing the gears yourself. The way you can shift up and down, particularly mid corner or heavy braking, without any jolts in the drivetrain is astonishing. People will say you can do that with heel and toe, but not with such precision and on every single shift. I think a test drive in both will tell you very quickly which you prefer, they are quite different and each have appealing qualities - what you want out of a journey should easily determine which way you go. -
The body work and stance aren’t for me, but saw the red wheels and white paint and well, just thought I’d mention it.

Been a while since I got to play with Nissan bits, good fun, lets do it summer time next though yeah 🥶 and for god's sake get a stubby aerial on!

I test drove a 370 before selling my 350, I did enjoy it and I’ll probably end up in a 370 at some point, but it was too similar for me to warrant splashing the extra money at the time for not much change. I was ready for a different experience and ended up with the BRZ, for more lightweight fun. Test drive away and you’ll soon know.

Simpleton trying to upgrade to android Head unit

Gonna need this tomorrow @PlanGT -
Look man, we don’t need you and your science. Well, we don’t need it for aliens, medicine, religion or flat earth. We sometimes need it for fuel, choosing our brand of oil, generally for the internal combustion engine to function, oh, and the internet, but not if you use any of those things for more science. We’ve had enough of experts, Brexit MEANS Brexit. I hope I’ve made myself clear on this

You’ve not considered though that this is on YouTube, so is 153% more correct versus all other methods of sharing information that the sheeple consume via lamestream media. So, yeah.

Help I think I have just been scammed by someone on here.

Don’t beat yourself up, we’ve all made mistakes getting parts when we’re excited. It’s thieving bellends that are the problem, not you. Hope you get some luck with your bank. -

I’m very sorry to read this @Lauren_Davinaz I did get one PM reported for Jukiol908 by a member, that matches the pattern you and others have posted in this thread. I banned the account on the 31st. Just now I had a look at the profile and message mailbox, but there’s nothing in there you don’t already know, that would be of help. Did you use PayPal to pay the scammer and have protection from them? -
Tidied this thread up a little bit. @Payco and @Jay zee probably easiest if you two just give one another a bit of a wide berth

Gorgeous Z this, shame it was all the way down in Kent mind - long trip down, but well worth it. It's really tidy and I must admit I got a bit misty eyed for my old Z when I was following you back up North. Wish I had had the budget for a white HR when I was looking back then, absolutely stunning. Naughty exhaust and some spacers and a wheel refurb from bloody black and you're all set! Don' worry about a few little mods, it's not at all addictive Can't wait to get this out for a proper photo shoot somewhere when the sun pops out and get the proper camera out.

Seems like they are all landing, which is great. A huge thank you for everyone who has submitted photos. The last 3 years it's been touch and go whether we even get 12 months together, it literally cannot happen without your images - so I am very grateful for everyone who sends them in.
-
Nice one, if anyone is expecting one and it does not land in the next day or two, please drop me a PM and I'll find your track and trace details.
-
Nah, it’s an old fashioned surprise game this one.
-
Calendars landed with me, I will try and ship tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has paid so far, you should have yours early next week - subject to Royal Fail.
-
Locked the thread for now, sending out PMs for payment shortly.

Sounds rubbish, I’d rather stay in Yorkshire

It's good but it's a shame there won't be one in Subaru WR Mica Blue

Thanks to all our awesome members who have sent in photos, we now officially have a calendar for 2023. Please add your name to the list here if you'd like to order one. Now that I have a rough idea on numbers, prices will be £24 for one or £38 for two, shipped to your address of choice.

Thanks to everyone who has sent in photos so far, particularly in the last week or so. I've got one month left to fill and I am desperately hoping someone will send something, in the next day or two. If not, there won't be time to get the order in and get it shipped to me and then get it shipped to you, before the "first" month in Feb. If you're sitting on a few shots and not sure, please please please jump in now.
