  1. Whilst I understand some of your feelings. I would also like to disagree with your deepest pocket idea. Premiership big spenders to buy titles will only get you so far before you need a quality manager to create a dynasty. Chelsea over a billion to date spent 3 titles, never 3 on the trot. Man city £930,000,000 1 title. Mmmmm. Lets think about that one!!! Man U not even close £430,000,000. 13 titles. Yes some players didn't make the grade, but they were given a chance on the biggest stage. They didn't make it elsewhere either, although Forlan did quite well. This Manager deserves respect. I remember the famous quote from a so called hack "You'll never win anything with kids" arguably the best team of the ones SAF build and in real terms, cost next to nothing and they took the league apart with entertaining, attacking football. If you want to know who spent the most cash? Blackburn one point 3 billion. 1 Title and the bankruptcy of their backers. Case rested. Fair point, and I agree, but what I was driving at is they were the big spenders pre-Abramovich when most of the titles rolled in, they were thinner on the ground when the money was elsewhere. He did have a golden generation too, how much of that was him and not thier youth scouts I personally don't know. Hansen talks a lot, says not much, and what he does say is usually golf club chit chat with Lineker, he makes Gary Neville seem like Brian Clough.
  2. Excellent policy on convertibles. The lyonheart made some spudwater spill out. Beautiful.
  3. Movies got me into cars, so I am only going for my favourite movie cars, as otherwise there is too much choice. In no particular order: Connery's Aston Martin DB5 primarily from Goldfinger McQueen's '67 Mustang from Bullitt Connery's Toyota 2000GT custom convertible from You Only Live Twice. I just realised they're all old! If I could have one more in reserve, it would be the Enzo Ferrari or possibly a DeLorean.
  4. He deserves respect for the trophy haul, I won't be shedding any tears when he's gone mind. I also won't miss the sycophantic hacks banging on about the "mind games" either. I don't think moaning about 50/50 decisions for days after/before a match is mind games. He was also suspiciously quiet on the darkest day in English football, The Pedro Mendes Debacle (not that I'm STILL bitter about that particular contrived piece of fawning linesmanship). People forget that he's also signed some total shaffle: Taibi, van Der Gouw, Bellion, Djemba-Djemba, Bosnich, Kleberson, Nani, Cruyff, Forlan, Anderson, Fortune, May, I'm sure there are more but I can't be bothered to google. Many of his decent signings have been big money players anyone could have identified, Ronaldo, Nistlehorse, Berbatov, Van Persie, Stam, Carrick, Vidic, Ferdinand, again I'm sure there are more. His strop with the Irish fellas about a load of horse jizz has assisted the Glazers in pumping millions out of the club at the same time as mortgaging it up to it's eyeballs. I begrudgingly admit he's done an impressive job, even considering that for many of his years Utd had the deepest pockets in English football (the pre-Abramovich era) - when all of a sudden it became shameful to have loads of cash to spend on players and there was "no value" to be had in the market.
  5. Good luck, always impressed by someone who can build up a business for themself, looking forward to browsing for goodies. Hope it goes very well.
  6. TBH I didn't ask, I just liked the look on the sample wheel next to my Zed and said I'll have that. On the facebook page it's described as chrome effect.
  7. I'd have gone blue if the rest of my Zed could have supported them, she needs to be a bit more busy on the outside to pull off wheels like that. Who knows what could happen when I get around to the exterior jobs??? Thanks all for +ve feedback!
  8. Thanks CS, well pleased with them.
  9. So after seeing every picture of every wheel on the internet and getting a variety of quotes all across northern England, I went to my local place and dropped her off before I went to sunny Spain. As soon as the plane touched down in the UK this afternoon I got a text to say they were done. 5 minutes walk from the airport and I was greeted by my new wheels. I toyed with all kinds of colours from cobalt blue to matte black and everything in between, in the end I saw some in the shop, they lined 'em up with my Zed and I plumped something not dissimilar to stock, but a bit shinier and a lot less corroded. Hope you like them, if you don't please don't be too brutal! Ta. Big thanks to http://alloyexpert.com in Blackpool (facebook page has more examples https://www.facebook.com/autoexpertblackpool) excellent service and really friendly & helpful. Recommended to me by several people and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them myself. I'll be going back soon enough for them to have a crack at refurbing my interior plastics. Whilst she was in I took the opportunity to have the mixed rubber taken off and replaced with super sports all round. Not cheap but after only 20 minutes drive I'm so impressed with them. The rubbs roads in Blackpool were causing quite a bit of tramlining with the potenzas, 40 (front) and 50 (rear), which seems to have disappeared and they are noticeably quieter. First impression is she feels nimbler, but not had a chance to see what they are like when pushed, but there's plenty of time for that! Popped the photo purely for whoring purposes as I quite liked it. Thanks to Ekona for the extensive posts on tyres, I read quite a bit before stumping up my hard earned. I'd not really bothered much with tyres types on my first car (1.2 clio) and I was a little bit unsure at first with the considerable outlay, but very pleased. Cheers!
  10. Well nice, I like the textured finish, good colour choice too.
  11. Thanks, much appreciated.
  12. Woke up this morning, not a 100% clear memory, checked my phone for any evidence I need to purge, only found two pics. There was clearly only two things on my mind...
  13. Cheers Tarmac, no car, but I'll log that for a future jolly.
  14. Just ordered 4 of these to be fitted during my wheel refurb as she was on mixed when I bought her, all in fitted for £730, well pleased. Quick question. Is there any sort of "normal" run in time/mileage where the tyre gives up any surface/near surface oils and the like from the factory?
  15. Whilst the Zed is in for alloy refurb, to take my mind off missing her, I'm off to sunny Spain for a few days. If I leave the comfort of the free hotel bar and the golf course, can anyone recommend some bars in or around Malaga or Puerto Banus. Preferably not full of w@n£ers, limited gringos and maybe also serves an excellent Piña Colada?
  16. I'm quite short so my elbow is well clear of the heated seats, it prefers to play with the hazards!
  17. You're talking about the car right? Really??? I expect this sort of thing from SMD. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed BBK...
  18. Great scenes, another vote in the bag. Love that front end, good luck.
  19. Nice one Vlad & BM, got the kit and some mic-off shampoo and some wheel cleaner whilst I was at it. Bargain central. Ta.
  20. Can anyone point me in the direction (link would be super) of the appropriate style polishing pad/drill bit for strapping on and going in hard on the headlamps with some metal polish. I've got a buffing type wheel but it's a pain to use it as the moving surface is perpendicular to the drill when in use, ideally I want something that can be used on the end with minimal risk of damage. Ta.
  21. Just noticed they're selling the air freshener from the march box in the waxyshop. I'm in love with this fragrance it's better than Sex Panther and it works 80% of the time, everytime. Ordered 10 just in case stock runs low. Got an email from Richard, "I take it you like these?"
  22. Do we have a '"Life Rules" section where this can be a sticky?
  23. Mine is a 2004 GT, it's my first Zed and I am absolutely 100% totally head over heels in love with her. It's literally the best thing I've ever spent money on. I can't imagine anyone buying one and not totally loving it. If it takes a second longer to 60 than newer models then I can live with that. I test drove it, felt awesome, couldn't spend my cash fast enough. I'd have liked the newer interior, but I never get in her and feel anything other than total joy, like I've "made it". I did however put in some facelift brake clusters as they're much better, but you can do that for the savings on a couple of road tax badges. GL with the search.
