In theory you've got about a 1.2 seconds less 0-62 (5.9 on a DE v 7.1 in a scirocco - both alleged on autotrader). You've got an extra 76 bhp (assuming an 11 year old Zed hasn't lost any over the years, which it will) and you're also lugging circa 200kg more about. The mods won't count for anything unless it's been UpRev'd. On top of that he's got a modern auto, which probably shifts faster than a manual Zed (anyone?) and may even get off the line better (inertia?), unless you're dumping the clutch with the TCS off and keep wheel spin to a minimum. Sounds about right to me If you could find somewhere legal and safe, you might have more luck from 60-122, than 0-62.

Superior choice there Stu. The best thing about Cipher is that UpRev claim it uses Nissan proprietary protocols - meaning faster logging rates and higher res data over generic OBD gadgets. My guess is probably half the reason for it's high cost is royalties to Nissan for access to their protocols. If I was a betting man, I'd guess they'll be teaming up with someone else who already makes cars and then bolting stuff on for autonomy. Merits of EVs aside (I think there's a thread somewhere on it ) these things are the future and apple makes a fortune marking up on quality hardware as it is, so it's a natural progression for an outfit with more cash reserves than, well, anyone!

In addition to the sensible stuff already, when you do look underneath, may as well check the aftermarket exhaust clears the big W brace. Mine was touching it for a little while and made a racket at lower revs.

I put Michelin Alpin PA4s (I think there's a PA5 on the way?) on last winter, they were very capable throughout, but I didn't get a chance for the ultimate test of snow, just cold and a fair bit of heavy rain on a eur jaunt. TBH I wouldn't go to the trouble of refitting them this winter (unless it gets bleak) as the MPSS feel winter capable to me (I'm not trying to start a winter rubber debate) and I do carry emergency snow socks and drive a lot less heavy footed in the cold but if I do by some wheels and keep the Rays, I'd do the swap.
