I saw a young feller do that same sort of thing in a jag where i use to work and it went off the end of the ramp which luckily was on the ground. It rode over the stops on the ramp and to this day i dont know how he fitted between the car and the ramp post but he did without any injuries. I guess that has always stuck in my mind to make sure i check and never do it as its easy if you lose focus for just a moment. It seems to me that one of the major differences in the prices on these cars is the milage I wanted to get the best standard car i could afford as i plan to keep it for a long time but like most modern cars if its had regular oil and filter changes and not been abused it will go on for ever. You pays yer money and makes yer choice so each to their own.

Sad news all round but something to condsider in the cold light of day is why was the dog roaming free. All owners should be responsible and you may be able to claim off the owners. They may have pet insurance or i have even heard of cases where you can claim off their house insurance. Could be worth a look on the net. I know its not an easy call to make while they are grieivng but ultimately they are responsible.
