  1. Hi Sparky, I'll take the tonneau cover off your hands if you want rid, I have a week off this week and fancied a project. I don't know about my skills in making these for others but I'd be happy to make a template to dish out to everyone. How much are you after for it? PS iirc from your for sale ad for your old 350z your only a few junctions down the M27 from me Jon
  2. Courtesy of www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk in fareham my wheels now look like this. I considered anthracite but in person it looked too dark for my taste so I went gunmetal, so glad to get rid of all the kirbing from the previous owner and there was so much corrosion. I think the gunmetal sets off the orange brembo's too. I'm over the moon. Jon
  3. I've not had mine long, I've not turned it off yet. The previous owner has fitted the cheapest possible budget tyres available on camskill (£55 a corner!!) and I have no grip as it is with ESP on. I think I'd die if I dared to turn it off, lol. Don't get me wrong I've thought about it, just to be curious.
  4. I was watching one of these on eBay yesterday and cannot believe it sold for that much!! I'd love to have a go at this but guess I need a template, I was thinking about taking off the trim around the rear strut to use as a template. I personally don't like the Z, although if it had the 3 little squares in the Z cut out it may look better.
  5. I'm glad your enjoying Zed ownership. Your story sounds familiar, lol. I've had mine 3 weeks, I'm in the process of sorting corrosion on my front wipers, getting the alloys refurbished on Monday, ordering some products to restore some slight wear on my leather seats, trying to source some OEM splash guards, planning a front end respray in the new year, keeping my eyes peeled for a black nismo gear knob and a carbon lip for my front bumper, and before the weekend is out I'll have probably bought a new ariel and front and rear badges. The missus is going ape!

    OMG WHY!

I wouldn't mind seeing the car all finished....... unless its only the bonnet being done! Which would not be cool. I have to say, I don't hate it!
  7. Because I have an obsession with tidying things I need a bit of advice on some chips I have on 1 of my orange Brembo rear calipers. Has anyone ever had anything like this in the past? Can anyone offer any ideas on touching this in? I guess it's some sort of ceramic coating but I haven't properly inspected it yet, Ideally I don't want to replace the caliper and am looking for a budget solution to repair it. I'm going to a wheel refurbishers on Monday for my wheels, could they do some sort of powdercoating smart repair? Thanks, jon
  8. Still 29 for another 9 and a bit months Long play mini discs (or whatever they are called) should have revolutionised the world, lol. I remember spending £600 on a stereo for my bedroom ( the same one Dominic torretto in fast and furious 1 has at his house) just because it had a minidisc player in it. I still have my minidiscs in the loft, no player though
  9. I don't think the Bose is that bad either. Certainly better than most standard equipment. I wish the head unit was reliable and better looking. Mini discs are awesome I have no idea why they didn't replace CD's altogether. They were all the rage when I was at college.
  10. I'd suggest a quick search on here for recommended tyres, I picked up my zed a few weeks ago, it was advertised with 4 recent tyres so I was happy. When I turned up they were budget tyres, it was a nice sunny day and they performed well and I loved the car so bought it. In the wet however the car is simply dangerous! It just spoils ownership of a car like this. Thankfully I don't drive the car daily so they can wait whilst I tidy up some other bits, but I will have to spend £850 odd on a new set of decent tyres soon. Also look out for corrosion of the wiper arms and alloy wheels.
  11. Fingers crossed for my renewal in December then. I guess all this harmonisation/non discrimination of gender in insurances is working in our favour. Before I bought my zed I was getting quotes of £350-£450 on compare the market not any fancy sites. When I changed my current policy from my old E90 BMW 320d it only cost £55 extra but they've whacked a £500 "sports car" excess on top of my normal £150 excess, I don't fancy that if the worst does happen. Either way at 29 these aren't bad quotes by any stretch of the imagination, before the zed I was considering a '54 plate Audi S4 but my insurance quotes were around £1k, I'm a tight arse so didnt fancy that much. Sky+ Box

I have a spare sky+ HD and normal sky plus box you can have for free if you want? I;m not sure where you're based but i'm sure we can sort something. Jon
  13. Got mine booked in at www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk in Fareham on Monday 5th can't wait. Only managed a 10% discount on my quote though. Just had a thought, what do they normally do with the centre caps if there's a change in wheel colour? Jon

    Z Badges

I have these fitted on the zed I've just bought mine are quite weathered though and need replacing. Im not sure how long they've been on the car though to be fair. I'm quite keen to get front and rear Z badges that match the side badges with the black background but can't find them anywhere.
  15. Mine clears fine in seconds with the air con on, it only bothers me as any additional noise in the cabin (such as the blowers) means i hear the gorgeous engine/exhaust note a little less, lol. I've had cars in the past that froze on the inside of the screen in winter, thats a chore, lol. Jon
  16. The seals could be a good shout to be honest, i've only had my zed a few weeks now but all of the windows on the inside of my car fog up on almost every journey. I have noticed that my car air freshner can be smelt on the outside of the car which is unusual. I have no noticeable water ingress, as in wet carpets etc and the car does not steam up until i am sat in the car though. On previous cars i've always ensured the inside of the windows are cleaned regularly and this is normally enough to stop the steaming up.
  17. Forgive my naivity as i know nothing about electronics, but could we not just steal some sort of module or wiring out of another Nissan or even another manafacturers car that does have this option and splice it into our looms? Jon
  18. I've had a quote from thewheelspecialist.co.uk in Fareham, Hampshire for 4 18'' Rays, car in, remove tyres, strip wheels, repair, powder coat, refit tyres and balance, same day service for £393 i did an online quote with them on an old car a few years ago, when i didn't book in they called me with an offer. I'm waiting for a similar call at the moment, although i may call them at the end of the week if i've heard nothing and see what i can wangle.
  19. I could be very interested in these, i'm only in Eastleigh too. I'll keep my eye's peeled for a For Sale thread soon. Jon
  20. I'm in the same position at the moment, my Zed is silver with the Ray's and due to corrosion i want them refurbished. I like the combination of anthracite wheels on Silver cars normally but also like the Rays in their standard colour. This thread may help you to decide.. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/64194-350gt-with-refurbed-wheels/
  21. I was thinking of an anthracite finish for the rays on my silver zed, your pics have helped me make my mind up, thanks. Car looks great! I had a quote for £397 for my 18's, that's for dropping the car off, removing wheels, stripping wheels, refurb, powder coat, refit tyres and rebalance wheels, refit wheels, same day collection. I'm gonna speak to the company and try to waggle some discount, see if I can sort a deal for the members of this site, fingers crossed. Jon
  22. Lol, i owned #0406 for a couple of years, agreed they are money pit's. Happy Zedding!!
  23. Welcome, i quite fancy a black one myself. I recognise your Username, have you ever owned a Ford Racing Puma by chance?
  24. I was thinking of something like this as i liike the look of them over standard, i'd want one in titanium or black rather than chrome though. http://www.passionauto.co.uk/products/richbrook-touring-car-gear-shift-knob-silver.html
