  1. Before anyone comments... I know they are cheap speakers, I know some will say they should not be fitted there. More of a test to see how they looked and replace later when funds allow But, to my "non audio geek" ears, they sound really good and I like the look. Dead easy to fit but I managed to break the flap on the right hand side cubby; so on the lookout for a replacement.
  2. Managed to break the flap on mine whilst installing speakers.
  3. Pioneer x3500dab
  4. I managed to order two sets of 6.5" 4-way coaxial speakers rather than the 1 (don't ask!) I'm replacing the rear ones. The Fronts are component. Question is, can I use the coaxial in the front rather than bother with sending the extra set back? These are the speakers http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/edge-street-ed206.html thx
  5. Have noticed in last couple of weeks that I'm not receiving traffic data through oem satnav. Anyone else in Chester area lost it or just me? Is it a pay service? I have the 2013 carminat DVD in the SatNav
  6. :-) plain old black in my car
  7. Stumbled over this http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/
  8. Going to give it a go with the rear ones first. Ordered these last night as a cheap http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/edge-street-ed206.html
  9. how easy is it to replace the rear speakers? Does all the trim just clip off? I like the look of post 10 here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/33055-rear-speaker-upgrade-from-65-to-8/
  10. The Takeda kit I have fitted has slots for the MAF sensors to bit fitted. Just remove from the stock pipe and screw onto the replacement.
  11. Could always use in App mode and install an Internet radio app like http://www.livioradio.com/livio-car-internet-radio-app-now-available-for-pioneer-appradio%E2%84%A2/
  12. Cheers for the advice, I'll keep that in mind. Do you have any sat nav set-up with it? I've seen some advertised as 'sat nav ready' whatever that is. But presume you need to set up an add on? I don't have satnav as I have the inbuilt one. Assume this is the addon http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/25/111/241/AVIC-F250/page.html
  13. I have the Pioneer x3500dab fitted http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68868-new-hu-arrived/ Really like DAB. Had it in my last car and wanted to keep in the zed. Was not impressed with interior aerials, too much burble as the signal dropped. Replaced with external in place of the FM one. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71434-removing-aerial-to-replace-with-a-dab-one/ If you want DAB, go for it but be prepared to try a few aerial options.
  14. Looks good. What camera did you go for?
  15. Well, looks like it's going to be 40 based on the posts. Tbh, I like the look of the Vreds and seeing as I do less then 4k miles per year and never 'push' the car, I think they'll be fine. Thx for the posts
  16. I'll need to replace all 4 tyres soon and settled on Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA I can save a decent chunk by dropping to a 40 profile. Other than the speedo not reading quite right, any downside? Mytyres best price fitted I can find. 245/45 = £172.20 245/40 = £142.20
  17. I live near Chester. Had my Cobra exhaust fitted by http://tdi-north.com/ couple of months back. Excellent service.
  18. If you replace the headunit, you'll need a steering wheel adapter. This will allow you to control the basic functions like volume or track but will not let you control the phone. You'll find that the phone buttons will generally do something - on my Pioneer they change the source.
  19. Fitted today and all works great. Pretty straightforward but my colour blindness caused an issue! The light green cable was white to my eyes so was a bit of trial and error. Works and looks good on the Pioneer x3500dab
  20. Cheers Will be this weekends project.
  21. Hi The stock Bose sub runs off the rear RCA outputs. I asked the same question when I first replace the stock headunit :-)
  22. OK was being lazy! will remove trim and do as per guide
  23. Finally got round to fitting my reversing camera. Pulling the cables through was quite easy thanks to the guides on here. Being lazy, I only removed the one piece of trim at the back of the boot. I know from the guides that the reverse power cable is green with silver trim and notice in the mass of cables right in the middle of the boot (above the rubber grommet you pull the cables through) there is a cable with the same colours. So... is this the right cable? I took a photo, but the upload to photobucket failed and I didn't notice before re-fitting trim. :-( I need to get some more scotch locks tomorrow, so not been able to "give it a try" yet Thanks
  24. I bought the x3500dab as I particularly wanted DAB Really like the head unit, looks good in the dash and does everything I need. If I had any negatives, it would be that changing tracks on an iPod could be slicker but this is more related to the touch interface as I had an Alpind Ida-x100 before that operated via a jog wheel. Not made many phone calls via Bluetooth but those that I have are fine. http://www.roadradio.com/Pioneer/AVH-X3500DAB/
