  1. Interesting. Quote was from a trusted garage in NW Will try Demon Tweeks tomorrow
  2. As the subject line, how much should I be looking at to have a set installed and setup? Quoted £330
  3. Try this,..... https://www.dropbox.com/s/ulgzkxfxj4pmjyu/AV.pdf

    Best tyres

vredestein ultrac sessanta Cool looking tyre. Dropping to 40 profile rather than 45 I got full set fitted for £465
  6. Can't find any info on that. Sounds like a return to me. I would try another fitter as well if they couldn't work out the phono connections
  7. In what way? never used a DVD or CD in mine tbh, have it linked to an iPod Touch routed to where the bluetooth adapter used to be so either use that or DAB
  8. Link to the AV section of the service manual https://www.dropbox.com/s/ulgzkxfxj4pmjyu/AV.pdf Has instructions for removal/install
  9. Great pics thanks. Will do mine tomorrow. Just to clarify, you only need to remove the unit if you have to replace the little white push switches; for the bulbs only you just remove the plastic covers and pop the bulbs out. As per post by Sam Mcgoo

  10. I have the same headunit installed. The unit has the standard 2x front, 2x rear and 2x sub. So, not sure about the statement regarding connections. Perhaps they plugged the rear speakers into the sub output on the HU by mistake? The sub takes its feed from the rear speaker output. I lost FM totally why Installed the unit. DAB reception was pants as well with any of the internal aerials I tried. Tried glass and an amplified one. I eventually see the external FM aerial for a body mount DAB one. http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic_DBA-5001_DAB_car_aerial.html Now have full DAB signal all the time and no burble
  11. Yep, but further up the post you will see I managed to blow one of the switches in the unit. Needed to replace that, which needs the unit removed to get to the back.
  12. replacement bulbs and light unit arrived, so took a few snaps replacing the switch Easing out the unit The connecting wire clip Working LED lights :-)
  13. So it was the switch then ? How did you get the covers off the interior lights do the whole unit come out of the car roof including the sunglasses case. ? Surprisingly easy. Insert a small screwdriver into the surround of the map light unit. There are 4 clips, 2 on each side. The unit then just pops out and is connected via the usual 350z plug type. The switches themselves just push on/pull off.

  14. Managed to get hold of a replacement unit off eBay and ordered some proper bulbs to go in it. So, anyone else who is daft enough to do the same; I'll have a spare switch!
  15. The only android HU I would even remotely consider would be a Parrot one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Parrot-ASTEROID-Smart-Navigation-Multimedia/dp/B00BGBO1ZC But, for that price you would get a descent branded HU
  16. Mystery solved. Obvious when I think about it logically. This is the culprit The actual switch is dead Swap them around and the right hand side works fine. Now, need to find where to buy a replacement Any ideas?
  17. On the way to work this morning, the right hand side map light came on after about 10mins driving. Stayed on for about 2-3 seconds and then died again! I have no idea what this could be From the wiring diagram, if one light works the other should do to
  18. Looking at the interior light wiring diagram Both lights take the same feed, so doubt its anything to do with the BCM Suspect I've knackered something in the light itself
  19. I tried these http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/269-led-smd-mega-bright-festoon-bulb-30mm-white.html So, likelihood is a short Question now, how do I get the right hand map light working again?
  20. Doh Not going to risk another blown fuse by trying again!
  21. Located the fuse, its No18 in the box by the accelerator Replaced it and the left hand side LED worked for a second, and then pop; fuse gone again. Put the old bulbs back in, and another fuse, and I have a working left hand side map light but the right hand one isnt. (swapped bulbs around to confirm this) Left hand one works as it should, either by switch or by the door. Any idea why the right hand one is dead? @Beavis - maybe me being stupid here, LED lamps have a wrong/right way of installing?
  22. Just got to the fuse box behind the battery (great location!) Nothing obvious from what I can make out on the diagram Anyone got a list of what all the fuses actually link to? BTW, noticed the boot light is out too, so all interior lights Defo sounds like a fuse to me....
  23. The fuse I thought it was was fuse number 6 btw
  24. So, bought a couple of LED bulbs to replace the interior ones as a 'quick' upgrade. Popped out this morning, removed the cover and replaced the bulbs. couple of mins max. Now, neither the interior lights nor the mirror lights work. OK, must have blown a fuse I thought.. Popped off the fuse cover, located what I thought was the right one, took it out and it looked fine. Turned on the ignition and the radio/satnav didnt come on. Weird.. Popped the fuse back in and radio comes on again. So, is the diagram on the back of the fuse box cover completely wrong? Where is the fuse for the interior/mirror lights? I have a copy of the maintenance manuals, and the fuse block looks right in this diagram Just doesnt say what each one does! Much appreciate any help.
  25. +1 Go for it
