Guys, firstly we made the front page for this years Go Japan on Sunday 25th Sept. This is a show we have attended for the last 3 times it’s been on and what a show it is. Great venue with on track racing all day including drifting with free entry to the main stand for viewing. I will only realistically get a stand for 20 cars so if you want to come please pop your name down below and register interest now. This is not an official list yet but I need to gauge some interest. Sorry to hear that. Get the culprit to pay for it directly to avoid a hit on his insurance and your own is my advice. Or settle at 75% of the cost outside of insurance. Just a thought.

Now that Japfest has kicked the season off nicely it’s time to turn our attention to our very popular annual meet at the famous Ace Cafe in London. The venue is booked out for our sole occupancy from strictly 11am onwards (no earlier) on Sat 11th June. Normal form please everyone. Well done Andy. I know as my role as REO what effort and time it takes to put a small to medium club stand together for a show. Until you walk in those shoes you never appreciate how much work it is. Your work is never taken for granted organising this huge gathering and for all the other events you do. Without your energy and dedication events like this are unlikely to happen. Yep. I have a manual choke bit have removed the handle as the 510 floods with the choke and is renowned for it. 3 pedal pumps of the accelerator to get fuel into the fuel filter and she normally fires first time. I’m sure you will find the best start up procedure for the Stang in good time. Patience is your friend with these old cars but as I say it’s part of their charm albeit frustrating some times. Enjoy.

Glad you got it started. It’s one of the charms and headaches of owning old cars. On my Datsun 510 if it doesn’t fire after 4/5 attempts in the cold then she won’t start until I take out the spark plugs and clean them as they coke up. Put them back in and bang she’s fires first time. One for you to consider if you keep trying to turn her over and she struggles more and more each time. Enjoy ownership. I’m enjoying my 1970 SSS 510 more than the many cars I’ve owned including my 350z and 370Z Nismo. Martin

Decided to treat my SSS Datsun 510 to the upgraded Supersonic Grill that was offered new in 1971. Test fitted today will fully fit tomorrow. Before grill second photo , Supersonic grill below. Very pleased.
