  1. StevoD, hmm, my bad? To be fair it was a long time ago and I would be hard pressed to find one chap these days, let alone two
  2. Ha ha, I had a boyfriend with a Morris Marina and one with a TVR. I married the first one Why?
  3. NeilMH, you had an Alfa Sud? My father had one and I was mad because he wouldn't let me learn to drive in it Flex, you are a very naughty boy. Go and sit on the naughty step right now or I will tell your Mrs
  4. Thank you everyone. I understand a bit better now Yes, Hugh, the Alfa that I looked at was only 1.4 l
  5. Flex which 'her' would you need to see in all her glory Mrs Flex might not approve if you give the wrong answer at this point
  6. I have noticed that engine sizes seem to be getting smaller. Is that right? If it is, why? Is it because smaller engines are now more efficient/effective? Is it because of environmental concerns? Assuming they use less fuel? Sorry if these are incredibly stupid questions but I know nothing at all about cars and would like to know the answer to the questions that have come into my mind. Feel free to ignore me if you think I am thick
  7. The headlights are very pretty Sort of like a diamante lotus flower perhaps?
  8. I'm not into women, personally, but the car is beautiful. I've had Alfas before and yes, I did break down quite often, ha ha
  9. I saw the new Alfa 4C at a show today and I have fallen in love. It's extremely beautiful and the interior is very no-nonsense still stylish and not uncomfortable. I might need a winch to haul me out but I have started saving in case Mr Twobears doesn't want to stump up the cash, ha ha. I am just wondering if I dare book a test drive I might have posted this in the wrong section so I'm sorry if that's the case. I still haven't really got to grips with the rules
  10. Congratulations on both counts from me too
  11. No worries I do admire the craftsmanship of the knives like I said because I've no idea how you go about making one.
  12. Happy to hold my hands up to being cowardly. I have never wanted to hurt anyone or see anyone being hurt Whether we want it to be true or not, knives can be used as weapons and frequently are. I'm not accusing you (Tricky Ricky) of being violent because I don't know you but I am sure that an aggressive person could do a lot of damage with what, to you, are simply 'tools' or objects of beauty. Each to their own, eh?
  13. I understand what you are saying and I realise that lots of things could be used as weapons but knives like those look tailor made to cut flesh open, or at least that's what I imagine? I can see their appeal in one way because the designs look impressive but they are definitely not made to be used as bread knives and that's the thing that makes me feel a bit wary of them. I would feel exactly the same if I saw a screen filled with guns, even if they were all pearl-handled pistols. Probably being a bit 'girly'
  14. I feel a bit anxious seeing all those scary looking knives but I admire your workmanship
  15. I'm lost as usual Why does anyone want a large post count? Are there prizes?
  16. How can you tell who the most prolific posers are? Ha ha, that was a genuine typo
  17. Thanks Graham Coldel, I am sure it is a good county in which to live
  18. Thank you Ian - Madrid was brilliant and we're back there in September but Surrey will be our main base for the next year or two. It's good to be home but I'm still having Spanish lessons every week Weybridge looks very nice and everyone speaks English - yay
  19. Have a lovely time everyone Those roads look like a Scalextric track
  20. We came home from Madrid last weekend and we are now moving to Surrey. Mr Zedley will be joining me but not for a few weeks because, unfortunately, using him to move my belongings isn't very practical If any nice forum members (and I know there are some, ha ha ) want to give me a wave if you see me driving around the Weybridge area that would be lovely because I don't know anyone in the area and will doubtless feel like a real Belinda No Mates for a few months
  21. Ha ha, my horse hasn't got 11 mates to go out wrecking the roads with Maybe she should call Horseline and report me for being a bad owner and spoiling her fun
  22. What an amusing debate I love the idea of carrying a shovel whilst riding my horse. Not sure where I would stow it because my horse's boot is even smaller than that of my Zed Horse poo really isn't injurious to health, although you might not want to eat it It will certainly do your veg patch a lot of good, however, particularly if it's well rotted Dog poo on the other hand IS dangerous. I am a driver with two cars (for which I pay tax and insurance) and a horse owner for which I pay insurance. I haven't a clue how my horse damages the road as one poster imagines. There again I'm never there when she gets out her pneumatic drill. Maybe that's how she's doing the damage?
  23. I didn't get on with Michel Thomas I'm afraid. I fell asleep every time I listened to him. He had a very soporific voice.
