  1. I don't know what that means big engine Thank you.
  2. Mr Zedder's seat belt always used to cut into my neck and Stanley's is just the same. It is starting to annoy me so I wondered if I should get myself some adjuster clips? I don't really want to mess with the look or functioning of the seat belt but I can't go round with red marks on my neck all the time and the seat belts aren't adjustable from what I can gather. Any advice or am I the only short arse on the forum? Actually, I am not even short so no idea why I have this problem
  3. Mr Twobears is off to a 'conference' in Amsterdam in April. Maybe I need to issue him with a warning?
  4. Rob, that sounds brilliant. I reckon we all need things to look forward to or we get restless and, yes, I will be using that as my defence when Mr Twobears comes home
  5. Flex, you didn't have anything to do with Tesco's last accounting fiasco did you?
  6. I filled up last night and had saved myself 6p per litre
  7. Mr Twobears is in Madrid so I went swimming this morning and the sheer mindless ploughing up and down the pool got me thinking about things I want to do so I've been naughty and spent some money on fun stuff. I have no willpower On Thursday I've booked a lesson at Bisley and a week on Saturday I've booked a hotel near Leeds Castle so we can both have a day out at the castle and, even better, go round the grounds on Segways Oh, and I ordered a skeet vest too because it was a bargain I hope Mr Twobears doesn't confiscate my credit cards when he gets home What's everyone else looking forward to?
  8. Thanks Rob. My home address is still my main residence and that's where my gun(s) will be kept too. I discussed that with the firearms chap at the police station so no worries on that score. I am going to Madrid next month and then wending my way back to Yorkshire so that I can have some intensive shooting tuition. Can't wait
  9. I love abandoned house photos. The first one is just like a time capsule and the second one looks interesting too. My father used to drive an old lady to the shops every week and she lived in something similar, albeit much grander (Calke Abbey in Derbyshire). Dad said that the family, who I think all had varying degrees of Asperger's, used to fill rooms with stuff they'd collected and then lock the doors, never to go in again as far as he knew. He wasn't allowed into the rooms but used to look with fascination through the windows. It's in the hands of the National Trust now and they even have a forge set up where my grandfather used to work, shoeing their horses which they preferred to car. The lady's brother wouldn't allow my Dad (or any other car driver) to drive down to the house but wasn't averse to getting into Dad's car at the top of the drive apparently!!
  10. On mature reflection (and what other type of reflection am I qualified to indulge in, due to my advanced years?) the answer is ..........NO BLOOMIN' WAY! They are far too scary over there and a pitchfork up the rear end is probably more eye watering than either of us could imagine
  11. Hugh, I dare not speak its name They don't take kindly to strangers 'over there'
  12. No, 'cos some of you saw the state of my car in Wales a few years back. Clean was not really the word to describe it
  13. Mine came free with a pack of Rice Krispies if I recall correctly Weirdly, on another forum someone has just this minute told me that not only can I patently not drive for toffee but that I obviously clean and polish my car obsessively and that I have probably never been into the countryside, oh, and that my licence came from a pack of Kellog's finest cereals. How do they know me so well I wonder?
  14. Aha, that sounds more like it Dan I haven't actually seen the letter but am Skyping daughter tomorrow so I can read it. My ID photos are literally hours old so, hopefully, I'll be able to do it without too much fuss. Poor old Mr Twobears will be depressed though because he had hair when his last photo was taken
  15. Thanks chaps. You've made me feel so much better
  16. Just had a phone call from daughter to say letters have arrived for me and Mr Twobears telling us we have to renew our driving licences. Is this something new as I don't remember ever having to do it before? I've just been to Tesco this afternoon to get my ID photos for the gun licence application so I wish I'd known sooner as I could have got two sets. I liked my old photo because I wasn't such an old bag on that one
  17. When I had a test drive in an Infiniti a couple of years ago I really didn't like it The interior looked very cheap for a so called premium marque and I just wasn't impressed by the driving experience although it was a comfortable ride I guess. I sort of liked the idea of having something that not many people have even heard of but I was worried about the resale value. The salesman seemed pretty desperate too and was practically begging me to take the car for the weekend but I had to admit that I really wasn't interested. I still think that they look nice from the outside though.
  18. Thanks again rabbitstew for such a raft of useful info I will definitely try a 12 bore before making my decision. Because I know nothing about guns (along with many other subjects ) I fully intend to take the instructor with me to get his opinion because I will be well out of my depth, knowledge wise. If I can get a cheaper gun that fits me I'd be quite happy to go down that route. Could even buy my daughter one at the same time if I can pick up a bargain as it is out of season! re the cabinet, I will look at the brattonsound ones and it is a really good idea to get a larger cabinet than I might need initially because I am certainly going to buy my daughter a gun at some point and Mr Twobears might want to get in on the act once he starts spending more time in Yorkshire.
  19. You're welcome nimbus I find I am 'buzzing' afterwards and desperate to get back to the shooting ground
  20. I've just seen this and feel compelled to point out that I am definitely not a bloke So stop picking on me Hugh/Huw or I'll extend my house search to your neck of the woods and then you'll be sorry
  21. Edinburgh BBK? I obviously haven't been keeping up with your adventures South West is lovely gsexr, but just too far away!
  22. I forgot to ask - what type of ear defenders do people recommend? I didn't like the ones the instructor gave me. It may just have been my innate clumsiness when mounting the gun but I kept knocking them off my ears and it was really annoying. I don't think ear plugs alone are recommended but is there anything else that is smaller than normal ear defenders?
