  1. Haha I read the comments above before opening the link. I was expecting bad, but that far exceeded my expectations!
  2. Having just done the wiper delete on the rear, I'm reading this thread with interest as I'd like to buy/apply something on the rear screen. Glad I did as I just assumed Rain-X would be the way to go, but now know otherwise. So thanks
  3. Oooo, that sounds like a challenge Jim, the important thing is wrapping UNDERNEATH the rubber and not just 'up to' it. Either removing the pillar covers or the two squeegie method makes this possible. If you're gonna get the roof wrapped by someone, I guess the question to ask them is, will they wrap upto or under the rubbers? Good luck - keep us posted
  4. It's an easy job to lift the A pillar. There are 8 (IIRC) screws hidden within the upper window/door seal. The black B pilar covers just pop off. I've seen roof wraps done to cars that haven't had the A pillars removed and a very thin line can be seen where the wrap has shrunk revealing the body colour beneath. You're right to do your research
  5. I can thouroughly recommend a place near Worcester, he's just completed a full colour change on my car. Appreciate this doesn't help you much though. He previously did a roof wrap on my Zed and can confirm the A pillars DO need to be lifted to wrap underneath them (although not necessarily removed fully). It's an easy enough job to do and shouldn't really affect the price much (if at all). I wouldn't take it anywhere that didn't offer a roof wrap without lifting the A pillars.
  6. Come on guys, one more and we've got 50! Although.... 5. 370Ad +1 (CE59 SNY) - Now sold 15. Georgew (+1) S666 SLD - Now Sold (But still has a Nissan) 17. Pritchard +1 OV54 PDZ - Now Sold 35, debsterh +1 - Duplicate of 31 39. Kieran_ctr (+1 passenger) EJ53 OLA - Now a Honda owner
  7. I've never really got the 'beading' thing that we seem to see a lot of pictures of car roofs and bonnets when we get a little rain, but I do now! I just had to take a couple of my own pics The wrap was covered by CQuartz ceramic coating and these are the results
  8. Thanks guys You're right, the pictures really don't do the colour shift justice. Have found a great one of the bonnet in the sunlight though
  9. Before. Seems such a long time ago now. Stripped down. Ready for the transformation. As the whole world seemed to have convinced themselves it was gonna be orange (understandable), we thought we'd throw a little oil on the fire. This was the pic that many of you saw on Bookface. Jack and I called this colour 'Red Herring'. After hours.
  10. Thanks all, I really appreciate all the comments. I'm so so happy with the finished car. Yep. To give it its full title, it's 'ORACAL 970RA Premium Shift Effect Gloss 990 Aubergine Bronze" Catchy huh? You can't see the TellyTubby due to the tint.... Nah, Tango Man will still be appearing as the bay is still orange (If he ever makes it back from France - He's been kidnapped by a few forum members and currently on a road trip/holiday). Thanks again folks
  11. A massive thanks to Jack at Ultimate Wraps for making it happen and allowing me to stick around after hours and 'help' (cough) Find them on FB: https://www.facebook.com/Ultimatewrapsuk/
  12. It's not orange either! So here it is. My wrapped Zed. I know it's a cliche, but pictures really don't do it justice; that's one reason there are so many! The car looks so different depending on light, sunlight and just the angle you're looking at it. I'm so pleased with how it's turned out. Also did a few other bits and pieces along the way to help with the final look. Such as painting the door handles black, used/painted a 'Z' from a kick plate for the rear badge, spaced the wheels 15mm further on the front, cleaned and painted the Hubs/brake disc carriers, finally did the much needed window reset while the door card was off and it seemed only right to carry out a wiper delete while the boot was stripped. Anyway, enough from me, here's the (not so fantastic iPhone) pics.
  13. I had a coil pack break down (physically not emotionally) on me recently. It's easy to diagnose which one is playing up by unplugging them one at a time - unplug a 'good' one and the idle drops. Unplugging the dodgy one has no effect (assuming you're testing while its misfiring). Chris (Keyser) stepped up and saved the day with a used one, but I also bought another from him to keep as a spare
  14. OMG! The bonnet actually DOES shut! I thought the lifters/dampers you had, had seized open or something.... Cracking shots mate. And cracking motor, really is a credit to you.
  15. Good stuff. Great seeing your progress bud
  16. Nice one Steve, it's a beaut of a '70. Glad both cars will be sticking around too Nice one Chris, it's a beaut of a '50. Glad both cars will be sticking around too

    Spacers Question

20mm Front and 25mm rear is the common and preferred choice. Plus you can lower the car on springs on this sized spacer without issues. And there are a set up for sale in the classifieds: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/110380-tarmac-sportz-2x-20mm-2x-25mm-wheel-spacers/
  18. Brilliant. Love the sticker! You're not far off actually...
  19. I'd have really liked to have gone to this as it looks a great day out from previous years, I'm afraid I can't make it this year. It's also the same weekend as JAE (This isn't the reason I can't make it though). Hope you manage to get something sorted - definitely one to look at next year
  20. Hi All, Just an FYI. Not sure if those that this affects are aware or not, but the DVLA have recently changed their recommendations for vehicles that have been wrapped, which now have to be registered if the colour has been changed. Previously because the wrap was not considered a permanent change, it did not need to be registered. However, the following statement has been issued by the DVLA;- "The register maintained by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) essentially exists to assist in revenue collection, road safety and law enforcement. The Police and other enforcement agencies rely on the DVLA record for all vehicles-related investigations. It is therefore paramount that the information stored on the vehicle register is accurate and up to date. DVLA records details given by vehicle manufacturers at first registration. Any changes to the vehicles details must be notified to DVLA by law. By covering the entire vehicle in a coloured adhesive/vinyl wrap, it is DVLA’s view that the colour change should be recorded. To notify a change of colour you should complete section 7 of the registration certificate V5C and return it to DVLA Swansea SA99 1BA. You should receive a replacement certificate within two to four weeks". I was not aware of this and it was only last night while talking to my mate that's wrapping my car that he told me of the changes.
  21. About time for another B&W teaser I really like this pic as I finally got to stick on my DIY 'Z' badge tonight. And while the boot was stripped out, it seemed rude not to carry out the wiper delete. It's almost finished folks.
