  1. I emailed them about 3 months ago about the problem and they said the same thing "we haven't heard that one before and no records of that problem", told them that numerous websites were reporting it and so they asked for links to them which I sent.
  2. Just keep going back at them. I had some issues with my car when I got it from a Nissan dealer, 17 phones calls, 23 emails and 6 weeks later I received a cheque for just under £1000 for a new set of pads and discs all round ( I refused to let them supply and fit).
  3. No way of knowing which group you fall in to: OLD RULES - 25+ with 12 months' experience of the car or one of similar performance. NEW RULES - 25+ with 6 months' experience. OLD RULES - 25+ with 24 months' experience or 30+ if only 12 months' experience. NEW RULES - 25+ with 12 months' experience. OLD RULES - 30+ with 12 months' experience. NEW RULES - 28+ with 12 months' experience. "NEW RULES - 25+ with 6 months' experience." - What's the point you may as well stick with your current provider for 6 more onths instead of paying early terminatiuon fees and losing a years no claims. I'll stick with Sky

You will find the reasoning behind the design in this link http://auto.howstuffworks.com/nissan-350z-design3.htm
  5. The answers to the questions you ask are in the second post in this thread.
  6. They mean across the tyre width, not the diameter, like the pilot super sport profile.
  7. Yeah it's a problem with the S4, mine did the same. The new update that was released about a month ago may fix it but I just changed my head unit to an aftermarket one. Once Android 4.3 comes out next month, the issue should definitley be fixed.
  8. Depends what you're after. My employer creates new elastomeric materials and manufactures components for them for numerous markets. Drop me a PM with some details of the sort of thing you want and I'll let you know if I can help.
  9. I couldn't disagree more! Every mobility car should be a practical car tat suits everyone. All the same colour and defo ave a big sign on it. Far too many folk ripping the **** out of it! There's an elderly lady in my street who is 87 years old with 2 walking sticks. Takes her 20 minutes to walk less tan 200m to catch the bus at the end of the road every morning. Then i see a tosser driving his mobility car to the nature reserve along the road, jump out and walk his dog a few moles everyday! If you are desperate enough, you should be grateful for any car you get otherwise our not needing it enough! Okay so my mate that served his country and in process messed his ankle up isnt allowed a nice car because hes disabled??? Yes its paid for, but so are all ur medication and police force. And disabled sign can screw right off. Id hate it someone saying that. The government help disabled people out because thats nhs cover we all pay into U can see a person walking fine but u have no idea their situation. My mum has disabled badge (not a car though atm), she can walk fine, but she cant walk for long periods or sit for long periods. So u will see her park in disabled and walk out fine, 30minutes into shopping her legs can give way and she will struggle to walk... so thats why shes in disabled parking. Dont judge someone because they may walk fine. On the car note. U say give them a basic car. Say that costs 200quid a month and nhs covers rhat.. whats ur issue with them paying a bit extra for a nice car? Its @*!# enough for then struggling and being judged for being disabled as it is. My mate is so limited to jobs, so yeh limit him to a @*!# car too why not For your mate in the forces, fair enough. I have the upmost respect for anyone who risks their lives to protect the country I call home. Personally I wish all war veterans were treated a lot better but I wish the forces did this so that it only applied to servicemen. For your mum, not in as much agreement. So your mum has a disability and needs support, fine. But so does my grandma who can't walk for more then 10 seconds (literally has to sit down on the stairs half way up them) and she gets nothing except her bus pass. Why is your mum more deserving than my grandma?
  10. I must admit I don't understand it. Why not make them pay for a car and the tax like the rest of us? Just adapt the car for their disability for free if needed. If they can't afford a car then just give them a standard one (focus or something) not give them a choice. I'd love a Ariel Atom but I can't afford it so I won't get it despite how much I moan about not having it. Also don't agree with the big disabled badge.
  11. if you do strip the car then I'd be interested on some bits. I would be a shame to strip the car though as it is one hell of a nice Z.
  12. Yeah Lenovo are pretty good at the moment and they do an Alu chassis one. I've got an Alienware at the moment (don't ask), it's good but not worth the full price tag. Ian, when you say "MacBook quality" what do you actually mean? The build quality?
  13. It'll be well broke in 3 years, probably taking 5-10 minutes to boot up ? really? Ever touched a good spec laptop? Mac's are always very out of date with hardware, have limited programs, very restricted in use. The only good thing about them is the same thing as the iPhone. They are so heavily restricted that you can't do anything wrong, although you also can't do what you want, only what Apple will let you do. Hmmm same argument with Android, haha I can change almost ANYTHING!!!! Then 99.9% of people change nothing The 5-10 minute boot up comment was designed to get a rise, with SSDs now even a clogged up PC can boot in seconds.... Yeah SSD#s were funny when they came out.. I had an OCZ one pretty much as soon as SSD's existed. Went to PC World about a year later and looked at the mac's for a laugh. The sales guy spent an hour telling me how the next gen mac was coming out in a few months and it had a SSD and it was the first computer in the world to have one and they were developed just for mac's and you couldn't run them in any other PC. The look on his face when I told him that my PC was a year old, already had a SSD twice the size and my year old PC specs were far better than what the new mac had to offer and cost half the price a year in advance. I love my OCZ, recently installed one in a mate's new laptop, makes such a difference once you battle past "modern interface". PC World guys crack me up, I'd be surprised if they could tell you if a toaster can heat a bagel You're right about the specs though they do lag behind, strange that they feel so much snappier to use. Must be OSX. From what I understand, OSX is effectively a firmware rather than a typical operating system which runs on a bios. This means that OSX uses much less RAM and processing power to operate when compared to a Windows device, therefor leaving more resources available to run various programs Correct unless you buy a decent laptop with plenty of RAM, I'm running 32gb at the moment and never have an issue. Anyway, as I have said, the Mac OS is good. It's the hardware that I don't like and the Apple restrictions on software.
  14. Hey I'm not beating Wasso, as I said, if he wants simplicity of use then get a mac. Just saying that you can get laptops with better hardware for less money.

Must be OSX. Yeah the OS's good, it's just the hardware that's old. And overpriced. But can you put a price on sheer beauty? What beauty? You mean the chassis? Honestly I helped in the development of the aluminium chassis (helicoil inserts were needed and I used to be an engineer for a manufacturer of them) and the inside of it is not very well machined at all, quite shocking in fact. There are also other manufacturers who make one piece alu laptops too (admittedly they copied) but with better hardware inside.
  16. ? your fist link is an opinion by an Apple loving website (hence the websites name) and your second link even states itself that "A main factor in this machine's metrics is the fact that every Windows installation on it is clean. With PC manufacturers loading so much crapware on new laptops, this is a bit of an unfair competition. But, on the other hand, PC makers should look at this data and aspire to ship PCs that perform just as well as a cleanly installed MacBook Pro." And also you will notice that the Acer laptop which is second in their list is way less then half the price of the mac. So do what I do and build your own so then you have no bloatware and save a lot of money.

  18. Solidworks doesn't work on Mac OS http://www.solidworks.co.uk/sw/support/SystemRequirements.html only edrawings (a viewer) does. AutoCAD does but I don't know anybody who uses it now except for Architects. The final link you gave me, the only pieces of software I recognise are Sketch up (not a CAD program but similar) and AutoCAD as already mentioned
  19. Solidworks (what I currently use), any Wildfire versions of Pro E (wildfire is the most common, Creo hasn't really taken off yet), Catia and more. In fact I can't think of any that work well with Mac. Can you name any? Also if you are working in a machine environment then you may need to port the CAD files to a CAM program and then export the CAM code to a machine and you can't do that on a MAC.

  21. Ian, if you want simplicity and ease and have the money then get a mac as I get the impression you wont be doing anything taxing or advanced on it. If you want to save some money and get the same performance then some of the Lenovo's are decent at the moment but as it is Windows, you will need to keep it updated and have anti virus programs etc. For me, I can't use a mac as it can't run a lot of CAD software and many other programs.

  23. From what you said you need the laptop for, why buy a mac? You can buy a non apple computer for around 60% of the price of the mac with the same specification. You can even get them made from billet alu like the mac. Unless you need to look cool, want to do lots of heavy video editing or are too noob with computers to know what you are doing then I would save your money and get a decent spec non Apple laptop. The most important thing is the decent spec though, the £400 - £500 laptops you see in Tesco and the like are not good spec, they are mediocre for today and hence why they are useless in a few years. Buy high end now, and it will still be in the high mid range in 3 years time.
