  1. Yea you can plan ,measure and calculate and still get it wrong I did.
  2. I considered that the rocker covers are in the way If I could have taken the Z off the road and checked everything as I went along this would have come to light a lot earlier but I just want it finished now, the rest of the car has been neglected too long as I said it's possible if I cut the bonnet and feed the fuel rails from the other end but i'm not willing to cut the bonnet and I don't know anyone with a HR bonnet to try and I don't consider this a fail more of a draw the first set of itb's I made worked fine just little things I wasn't happy with I did consider putting them back on but the OBX one will be here soon. I'm undecided weather to continue on this thread with the OBX ITB install or start a new thread I think a new thread would be best.
  3. I've no doubt that I could finish it but the other issue was the fuel rails would have to be fed from the other end I may come back to it at some point in the future but right now I just need it finished so I can do other things, I've had a complete set of polybushes sitting around for a year really need to get on.
  4. Missus got fed up with me huffing bought me some shiney toys she said I could have the jenvey's if I wanted but I didn't want to spend too much of her money it's just a toy after all so an OBX set are on the way I like a challenge but it was just eating up too much of my time I suppose I could have put the first set I made back on but I never would have been happy with the method of mounting them they should show up just before I have a week off in which case I'll get straight on it.
  5. The thing is that's not where I have clearance issues it's at the other end the front where the bonnet slopes down
  6. So I went to fit these this afternoon and found a problem. the arms that open the throttle bodies have to move up toward the bonnet to open and I need another inch of clearance the only way to get that is to cut the bonnet and that's not happening so unless some major inspiration comes to me in my sleep this project will end here. The missus offered to buy me a set of jenvey or obx ones but that wasn't really the point the only problem now is I have become a bit addicted to the noise Not sure what to do now so I'll sleep on it
  7. I made my own fuel return system the only fiddly bit is making up an adapter to replace the standard regulator in the fuel bucket run a return line for the fuel, throw in an external regulator and away you go but nothing too difficult really if you really want to give it a go I''l sort out what info I have for you.
  8. Been a bit quiet for a while been busy with other stuff I needed to build a new controller for my CNC Mill and rebuild my cnc router so much to do and so little time Never mind back on track now The linkages are all pretty much sorted BMW used steel rod to connect the linkages together I chose to use ally in an attempt to reduce the overall mass the throttle servo would have to move the only problem with with this is that it flexes too much so I had to make a tie bar up using two M12 rose joints fixed in place with circlips the one in the picture is temporary just to prove it solves the problem which it does I've also fitted lighter springs to the throttle bodies also to reduce the load on the servo and the original injector ports have been tapped to accept 6mm push fit fittings for the vacuum takeoff . There's not too much left to do, print the velocity stacks but I won't do that until it's in and I can check clearances also I need to strip and clean everything before installation so really more than anything I need some time off work to get it finished

  20. This is the new linkage setup works nice and smoothly won't get much further for a while as I'm off to cornwall sunday
  21. I've made the new arms for the individual banks and one for the servo I decided to use the modified throttle servo from my old ITB setup for now also made a mounting plate to mount the servo to the manifold then I machined a recess into the end of the manifold for it to fit into still plenty to do but it's getting there
