  1. Hi All, I tried searching but I couldn't find anything coving this topic. I only use my 350 for drifting at the pod now and although its not happened yet, I'm wondering how I will go about treating a new clutch. To be clear the car is off the road with no MOT so the usual 500 miles of road driving will not be available. I've read conflicting reports of some saying they have put one in and given it hell from the start and been fine or some saying dont bother unless you can do some serious road millage. Obviously there are a lot of drift cars that are in the same position as mine so wondering if anyone has any experience or advice. Are there any clutches that dont require as much bedding in (I've heard ceramic might not or specialised performance clutches might be an option). And would just doing some stop starts on a very small amount of private road make any difference? Cheers, Ben.
  2. Hello all, Went to first drift day at Santa pod on Wednesday, needless to say i will be doing many more. Im looking to weld my diff now i know that everything held up to the beating well (VLSD). I was wondering if anybody knew anywhere around Oxfordshire to get it done properly? I've got a couple of mates who will weld it in there nan's shed with the cousin's sisters boyfriend's 40 year old welder but reluctant to go that route as i don't want it to fail. Also does the diff have to come out the car or can it be done while still mounted? The car is only used for drift days so not worried about comfort. Thanks!
  3. Okay thanks. Yeah the clutch itself feels nice and strong so think my cylinder is good. Thanks for all the help.
  4. Okay will do. Is it easy enough to trace the cable to get to both ends to lube? Now where did i put that WD-40
  5. Yeah that doesn't sound fun! Thanks for the info. I will get a hold of the Hel clutch line just in case then. Is bleeding done at the nut the clutch line attaches too or is there a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder? Thanks again.
  6. I should add its an 03 DE. The cable from "Hel" states DE so wonder if there is a difference.
  7. Hi All, Taking my 350 on a drift day soon and noticed that the clutch cable is really squeaky (not too worrying) and feels quite rough (a bit more worrying). The roughness feels Gritty and is definitely in the linkage the the clutch and not the clutch itself, feels like a rough spring. Obviously don't want this to break on the drift day and ruin the day so would rather replace it before or at least take a spare. From what i have read the cable seems to be hydraulic but cant find any examples other than one from "Hel" (had bad experiences in the past so reluctant to buy). Could anyone point me in the right direction for a new cable and some info, such as if the clutch has to be bled? Apologies if this has been talked about before, the only thread i could find was from 2008! Thanks!!
  8. Young drivers, its probably worth giving Adrian Flux a call if you shopping about for insurance, I'm 21 so am used to seeing extortionate prices, however Adrian Flux were far cheaper than other quotes at £2500 for BOTH my modified 350z and my modified 165BHP Fiesta with 1 claim from 2014. Its a lot of money but some would cry at the prices other insurers were offering. Beats my other insurers who wanted £1300 for the unmodified fiesta! Cant remember the name of the guy i spoke too and who sorted the quote out for me but was a nice and painless process and he took everything into account such as previous powerful car experience, owners clubs, like for like insurance, even put my steering lock on there for some discount. Happy customer so far! Ben.
  9. Just in case anyone reads this topic in the future or has the same issue, I do believe I have found the problem. There is a crack on the bottom of my front bumper and I can see the paintwork has been strained around areas like the badge and corners of the bumper. Guessing it’s had a small front end knock at some point that’s bent the bumper slightly out of shape.
  10. Hi all, The arch liner just in front of the wheel on the front of my Zed, both sides keep popping out so it can be seen in the wheel arch and looks horrible. is there meant to be clips or something holding it inside the front of the bumper so it doesn't keep coming back out after ive tucked it in again? Will try to post photo in this thread. Cheers!
  11. Hi All, Fitting coil overs next month, probably going to go with Tein Basis Z as my budget is not too large. Has anyone who has ran them shed a bit of light on them? how hard is the ride? looking to lower 30mm all round and without damper adjustment, am it bit worried the ride wont be what i want. Also i understand the lowering will knock the rear suspension out of spec without the ability to get it back in. Which camber arms and/or toe bolts would people recommend if i wanted to get it back in spec? Cheers!

    Avon ZZ5

Hi All! Looking for some new tires on the front, the continentals that are currently on there are looking a bit..... tired . I've always used Avon tires on my other cars that don't necessarily need the extra stick around the twists and am looking at ZZ5's for the Zed. I've been happy with them on other cars i have had them on, and they seem reasonably priced, wondering if anyone has had any experience with them before? Would it be a death sentence for the Zeds handling? Cheers.
  13. Okay thanks, could you post the Ad in here when you put it up? ill have a look
  14. Ah i see, so it wont be just a pop off pop on job, may as well give it a go though. I do have a 53 plate so the newer lights are tempting...... Cheers!
