Hi guys. As there is an ever increasing number of us down on the south coast I’m going to try and organise a monthly 10am breakfast meet on a Sunday each month. During the winter months a safe bet is going to be Harvester/Beefeater type places as the weather can be iffy. From the spring onwards we can be a bit more adventurous with the locacations. Also it gives the members that are new or haven’t been to meet before a chance to meet a few of us before taking the plunge and signing up to one of the bigger national events later on in the year. Venue TBA. 1. Andy James +1 2.

Apart from a lot of meets and shows I’m going to swap out my Kazz 1.5 diff for a quaife to give me a less aggressive drive for the road. I need another project but torn between a race/track day car and a V8 scratch to itch!

Picked her up Friday in the dark and spent most of today cleaning the fine dust that has got in everywhere. I’m really happy with the results. Sorry about the reflection in the pics.

Unsprung weight does make a big difference to a cars handling. My 19" 5ziggen wheels may look good on the car but are heavy, but when i have swapped them over to the 18" Rays for a competition I can really feel the difference immediately. The car feels more responsive/light footed. Big light wheels cost loads! .................

Fantastic afternoon considering the atrocious weather. Just shows how strong the Z community still is especially when Beb fires up the barbie! A big thanks to the girls for organising once again. Skiing in August next?...........

Fancy having a crack in the fiercely competitive Standard production road going 2000cc class. This rules out most forced induction cars as the MSA add 1.4 to engine capacity so a tuned to the nuts Abarth 500 is the only option which could be expensive and still quite heavy. Caterhams/Westfield cars due to being such low volume go into another class. Over the years of hanging around the paddock the most successful cars have been MX5s which I can't physically get into properly, early Civic's,ST Fiesta's and the Clio 182. Any other cars fit the bill? Think another thread could be in order! Lol.
-
Thanks Steve. I did consider this with the Z a couple of years ago but to be competitive you need deep pockets and again in the upper engine capacity it’s dominated by rally cars which I can’t warm to.

Happy Birthday Chris. Day off welding?

Thinking road legal, light, tuneable and under under 2000cc.

Thanks buddy. Yes after many years of sprints and hill climbs mixed with massive fun, heartache and lots of rear wheel spinning trying to keep up with the Evo guys the Pheonix is being put out to pasture. Shows, road trips and the occasional track day for her now. Already looking for a new competition project to keep me busy throughout the winter.

Don't worry guys I've hired David Blaine to hide in the workshop and snatch her back!
-
Thanks guys. Hope to get her back next week.

The aero kit front wings on my car were the second choice,a nightmare to fit but in fairness they looked pretty good. But in fairness I always fancied these wings but was warned away by Chris @ Tarmac as the fitting/ fettling required was a nightmare and also made of fibreglass. The seibon carbon fibre ones look amazing quality but just aren't as sharp or as long. so I decided to bite the bullet and get my local body shop to make a custom metal pair. In for paint this week so hopefully will see the results soon.
