  1. The lights behind the clocks are always on, and when you turn on your side/headlights they dim down a bit i think. you can also adjust the brightness of the clocks when the lights are on by the buttons on the side of the instrument binnacle.
  2. Yeah I think so... No more bass, just a lot more clarity having separate tweeters. Put it this way, if do it again if I ever got another zed.
  3. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audiobahn-AS65V ... 196&sr=8-1 same guy i bought mine off as well
  4. I would have thought so; SMD will be able to clarify. I didn't bother because it was the rears that were letting the set up down the most.
  5. It was bought from eBay, also on amazon though. Only bit of altering I had to do was cut the connectors off the loom and attach the spade connectors that came with the new speakers
  6. Decided that the Bose rear speakers sounded dire. Bought some audiobahn ones for £25 (6.5" by the way) and the sound a million times better. Sold the old ones for £36... Less postage and fees that equates to a free mod and much better sound in the car
  7. I did consider this, but was already fed up of passengers offering to buy me cassettes
  8. Correct. I had the same problem, new headunit cured it. PLUS it sounds even better with a higher quality head unit
  9. I had eibach springs on mine, went back to stock cause the exhaust was scraping over EVERY speed bump. Actually blame them for wrecking my exhaust and having to get a new system (nothing to do with Japspeeds build quality obvs )
  10. You WILL cut your knuckles/swear at some point, it's inevitable
  11. Remove the panels which stretch from just below the rear side windows to the kick plate. Pop the top long bit that stretches the width of the car and hides the speakers out from the plastic facing the boot. Pull the long bit upwards (it takes quite a lot of effort), then towards the front of the car. Job done
  12. I have one of these and its pretty impressive, and you dont need an inline booster because it has it built in. Just the cables talked about in these threads... viewtopic.php?f=35&t=58538 viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403
  13. My car has been uprev'd previously with a standard filter in an 06 airbox... When I switched it for a cosworth panel I was sure the throttle response improved, if no more powerful. Placebo? Maybe!
  14. Currently open at home and enjoying: -Captains Reserve, which is very tasty -Goslings Gold, which I got from outside the factory when I was in Bermuda -Angostura 1919, which is very soft and nice to drink neat or over ice. Open but horrible: Bacardi Oakheart, which I got for the F1 at Silverstone this year... its dire. When I'm out and choice is limited I stick to stuff like Havanna Anejo Especial, Appletons Estate or Bacardi Gold/Oro, although when I was feeling real flush once I tried the nicest rum ever... Appletons 21 Year Old... Its amazing
  15. I also noticed this when putting my reg on the zed in february... they also 'suggested' i signed it, which i did; can you imagine doing all the paperwork with no guidance from a DVLA employee, only to have it sent back when you inevitably **** it up?!
  16. Cheers I've come to the general conclusion now that if something looks straightforward, it generally won't be! Nice exception here hopefully.
  17. Much of a challenge to remove the area in question? Or are people just masking up the surrounding area?
  18. Glad you have it all sorted now She sounds like a technical genius - did she work for the SIS/MI5?!
  19. If you have iCloud enabled on your Apple stuff, make sure you have really strong new password on there, as well as all the secret questions. EVERYTHING will be stored on there...

    Gearbox oil

I have a 2004 car, with nearly as many miles on as yours. I noticed that the gearbox was slightly notchy from 1st-2nd, despite having had castrol saf x-o put in it a year ago by previous owner. I switched it for genuine Nissan transmission fluid with molyslip and it's now perfect, even when cold. as I got mine from him with great service and advice. Also probably worth changing the diff oil; the old stuff was a bit minging and it definitely feels better as a result
  21. Cheers guys and girls for the kind words
