  1. Wow. As if people actually write things like this on an open public forum. Get a corsa/saxo instead
  2. I use it when I'm doing a quick wash. I'm pretty sure it would smear/be difficult to get off if the car was dry. Great stuff though, use it every week.
  3. to the most helpful forum I've ever been a member of
  4. I'm trying to decide if I have the time to do a batch of a few; if I am able to I'll let you know
  5. OP This is my previous car before the Zed: Yes it was great fun to drive when in the mood, and I still say that I will get another one day, but the Zed is in another league. It sounds great, goes great, and I actually believe it flows along down country roads a lot better than the Civic, which crashed about a bit. Having owned more rwd cars in my life than fwd, I much prefer the balance of rear wheel drive. But there are a few things which, in my eyes, set the Zed apart from the Civic... - It gets looks everywhere I go whereas the Civic was like any other hatch on the road; - Every time I get in it I enjoy driving it, even if its to work (whereas the civic was only enjoyable on a B road); and - I USUALLY change cars quite often; this is the first car that I'm not worrying about it holding value and constantly checking auto trader to see what else I could be driving... this says a lot about how highly I regard it. Another great thing about the Zed is this forum- seriously I have never used one as helpful or informative as this, and all the users on here are really friendly and keen to offer advice. One thing to note- I used to think my Type R was bad for fuel economy when I was getting about 26mpg... the Zed is a lot worse, and as I rarely do motorway miles I only get about 21mpg... Ultimately, am I glad I made the switch? 100% yes, but this is my humble opinion
  6. Cheers, I just made sure the size was perfect, so it stays in place on its own. The carpet has a bit of give in it as well, so when its in place it takes a good whack from the boot side to get it out. Only the one side was needed, but I did all the staple gunning / stitching down the edges which aren't seen when in place, so it looks neat enough to be used either way round
  7. Cheers guys, and it hasn't even fallen to pieces yet
  8. OK, so the rain held off for a bit so finally managed to get the tonneau made. Got some good quality plywood from a local builders merchants, c.£6 for double what I actually needed. Made a template out of card then cut the plywood with a jigsaw and sanded down. Next I got some upholsterers foam off ebay for about £7 and glued on both sides with spray glue from an aerosol. I wrapped it in acoustic carpet which was had off ebay for about £6 (more than twice as much as I needed again, I wasn't too confident), using the spray glue to secure, then a staple gun around the edges (which are hidden when in place). Finished off by getting the edges sewn all around, which wasn't strictly necessary but looks really neat. Daytime pic: Nighttime pic to see if there were actually any imperfections in the fitting, which there are none Overall more than happy with the result, reduces road roar and exhaust drone massively, as well as hiding away anything in my boot. Bargain mod which looks and feels OEM.

At that sort of money and that sort of size/style, have a look at the Oris Diver range. One of the most well renowned Swiss makers and the classic designs will age well. But then again I would say that... this is how i justified myself getting one!
  10. Just had to replace a k2 that was on my car as the baffles had gone in two places. Got a Cobra resonated to replace it and the difference in quality is massive. Wouldn't touch anything made by Crapspeed ever again, and the Cobra is cheaper than the k4....
  11. As per the thread title... anyone had success with this? I was sitting in traffic today and thought "How hard could it be??"
  12. Hi all, I need a new cat-back exhaust; I'm sick to death of the baffles in my dire Japspeed exhaust rattling. Any members selling one? Used condition is fine so long as it is in perfect working order with no rattles!
  13. Just the one, and I had quite a bit left over as well.
  14. Cheers guys. Yeah I got mine from the Bay, about £16. I can't stress enough though that no matter how poor it looks after the first couple of coats, just KEEP GOING!
  15. So after buying the can of black plasti-dip about 2 months ago, I finally manned up, stopped using poor weather as an excuse not to do it and did the front bumper. For people who haven't heard of plasti dip before, its kind of like a liquid rubber in an aerosol, and creates a wrap after several coats. After the first coat I was seriously panicking; this is after two this is after four five finished job and after another half hour to dry fully Put about 7 coats on in the end, waiting 15-20 mins between them, and the finished effect is like a satin black. Mask off more than you think you need to, as it goes everywhere. Best thing is any overspray can be rubbed off with your finger/nail, or I found that an eraser worked well. Now when i get bored of it I can just peel it off so let me know your opinions of it! Cheers Jonathan
  16. iPad 2 - £329 for a 16GB now that the new iPad has come out. Apps are better quality, and I can genuinely say we very rarely get any back faulty (i work for Apple, but this is an unbiased opinion i promise!) Bargain
  17. The police are shambolic. I work for a technological company named after a fruit managing a store and before christmas apprehended and detained someone who was shoplifting. Even though the guy i held was on CCTV taking the item he was let go by the police when they arrived, because he passed the item to an accomplice when i approached them (despite having wire cutters on his person) Fast forward 3 months... Two police men turned up this week to take a witness statement. 3 MONTHS!!! actually thought someone was playing a joke on me. Best of luck finding the little scrots anyway
  18. I had this when i first bought the car after a 200 mile drive home.It was awful, got a headache after being at a standstill for more than 20 seconds! I took it to my mates garage, and it turned out that the gasket between the cat and the exhaust had literally melted away. Put standard cat on instead of the decat and got a new gasket and haven't noticed it since. It sounds very similar to what mine was like, and i found it unbearable! Good luck
  19. I wouldn't suggest parking on the grid - might look a little odd.
  20. Hi Guys and Girls, I have had a good look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=13&t=56707&hilit=f1+silverstone but I am hoping for more info. Having always wanted to go to watch the F1 Ive decided that this is the year that I finally do it. However I have absolutely zero clue as to how is best to park (I was thinking of doing the park and ride and saving £50..)/stay over on the Saturday night, or, perhaps more importantly, what parts of the track to watch the race from. Although we were going to get allocated seats, we have since decided to get general admission to try and take in as much of the track as possible. Any tips are greatly appreciated...
