  1. Me too largely. Shhh, don't tell him. As much as I hate to do so, I do agree that Alonso's a very good driver. I still hate him though. My resistance to comply with Dan's will is strong.
  2. I don't expect McLaren to suddenly find the pace they need this season. Next season they might have progressed enough, but I can't see that being an instant thing that some corners of the internet are expecting. I'd love to see it, but I don't expect to. I personally hope Alonso has a terrible season... but that's more of my dislike for Alonso than anything else. I'm torn on Button still though. More so now that Alonso is in the other McLaren, I'm left with no choice but hope Jenson does well but I think this should be his last season there (unless he suddenly improves a whole hell of a lot). I'm also bored of Kimi, so I'd like to see Vettel run rings around him... not too much though, I wouldn't want Ferrari winning anything substantial. I am, and have been for years, very much anti-Ferrari for the same reason Dan's gone off McLaren. Hamilton's a tough one for me too. If he could just keep all the off-track personal life **** to himself I'd like him a hell of a lot more. However, as Dan said, I'd still like to see him **** all over Rosberg. Ideally I'd like to see Hamilton and Ricciardo fight it out for the title, McLaren improve (but not enough to settle for the same drivers next season ) and Ferrari to continue their run of miserable performance indefinitely*. Also Maldonado would just stop turning up to races. *I'm willing to lift this one if their attitude of entitlement changes. Ever.
  3. After a quick & easy transaction, everything arrived today in perfect condition. Thanks again Ewen.
  4. He was online 9 minutes ago.
  5. McLaren can afford competent doctors.
  6. Depending on what specifically you're after, a spare heated seat switch with the white logo removed would have the lights at either end, or a traction control/fuel filler flap button with the logo removed would fit I would think. If either of those will do you, try Zmanalex. Similarly the switches from the 370 are the same size if any of those take your fancy. I've seen this company in America that offers customised rocker switches, but not looked for anywhere in the UK.
  7. Already on that. He appears to be wearing the Bucket's. Sadly I'm not that fond of any of their frames; I'm devising a plan though.
  8. Yeah, they said in that video the museum planned to paint it from the outset until they did a test polish. Unless it changed since that video was made, the museum then said (after the test patch) that they would be painting a section of the white and repainting the gold stripe still, so I just don't understand why they didn't agree which parts to polish or paint, then do the painting first and the polishing after to tidy up any over spray. I'm sure there was a reason, I just can't work it out. I'd be making the museum clear out a hanger just for this. Sod that working in the desert lark.
  9. I'll never complain about the size of anything I detail ever again*. A few things about this jump out at me; First and foremost; his matte silver lenses are f***ing awesome. I want some! I don't understand why, a) They were working out in the sun, surely a hanger would be better... surely?! 2) Why detail it before painting bits? This goes against everything I know about detailing more than reaching for the microfibre cutting pads before anything else. c) How any of them could possibly face turning up to day 3. Impressive job, I certainly don't envy any one of them doing it though. Was a good video too, I enjoyed that. *This is a lie. A barefaced, unashamed, complete, utter and total lie.
  10. Yep. San Marino is the American name for it, AFAIK.

    Flare???

It's a good job there aren't any explosive devices in cars designed specifically to detonate upon impact. Especially into the occupants faces. For example.
  12. If you listen really carefully, you can hear Attak Z's head explode as he reads the OP...
  13. That. MOT testers aren't permitted to remove parts during the test (hence why a garage will fail a car, repair it and then retest if they've been told to fix anything causing failure rather than just doing it as they come across issues), so the tester is just covering himself for bit he can't visibly check. The exhaust could well be a similar thing as exhausts aren't allowed/supposed to be louder than when the car left the factory... or something like that. ETA; the exhaust volume isn't an MOT failure but technically and particular anal police officer could take exception to it if you were hugely unfortunate.
  14. [Jack Bauer voice] Previously, on the ilogikal1 thread [/Jack Bauer voice] Well after today's wash... So that's that one answered then. But just to force the point home, Gyeon Cure side; Dodo Juice Supernatural Acrylic Spritz side; The Cure isn't quite completely dead - it does eventually sheet almost all of the water off the respective panels, albeit slowly - but it's clearly being shown up by Acrylic Spritz. It should be noted though that these are both sold as very different products, Cure is more akin to Red Mist whilst Acrylic Spritz is an outright sealant. Elsewhere, Car Chem Hydro Coat is showing up both the Acrylic Spritz and Cure alike on it's respective panels, but especially on the lower side panels (Cure & Acrylic Spritz on the doors & quarter panels, Hydro Coat on the skirts) in terms of dirt repellency/self cleaning and post-wash water behaviour. It's still beading well as is the PTFE Glaze but the sheeting of the latter has noticeably slowed. Post-wash Hydro Coat on the roof currently looks like this; Meanwhile, on the bonnet, the Waxaddict waxes; And for something a little different; That's one picture every 7(ish) seconds over a minute and a half (ish). Just to remind you, the waxes are; Top left - Edition 18. Top Middle - Edition 19. Top Right - Edition 20. Bottom Right - the other Edition 20. Bottom middle - Graphite (beta test version)/ unlabelled pot. Bottom left - Vitreo. That's also Edition 21 on the bumper, for what little of it you can see - it's considerably fresher than the other six so FWIW it's sheeted it's water before the first picture was taken. Not quite all dead just yet but close enough for me to call it a day. Draw your own conclusions from the gif. With Gyeon Cure on the passenger side, the front wings and the bonnet now needing fresh protection I'm a little torn as to what to apply next. I have three Car Chem products that would do nicely for the bonnet, as well as diluted Hydro Coat to use up. But the next Waxybox is due within mere hours (up to 48 of them) and it's a branded box... knowing what the brand is, I'm tempted to wait it out and see what turns up. If some one would like to make that decision for me, that'd be great.
  15. To an extent, but you're essentially correct. You never had to prove that in order to complain previously, just that without any proof they'd all but ignore you in reality. Supposedly they'll now investigate all complaints without proof, but that remains to be seen along with the effectiveness. I genuinely hope it does make a big difference but I'm still very sceptical at this point (does it show? ).
  16. Despite what the news is actually reporting, the only real change to these guidelines is the number of complaints required for the governing body to act - previously it was multiple complaints, it now only requires one single complaint. The rest of the process, and thus the likelihood of a complaint being upheld, remains unchanged. With regards to international calls, if the company is a UK registered company it's just as liable regardless of where the call originates. Otherwise, they can't do anything about it though. It might scare some companies into laying off for a bit but it's only a matter of time before they find their way around the new regulations and resume as before, IMO.
  17. My previous job involved dealing with literally thousands of client names, so I've seen all sorts. Amongst which include; Justin Case. Justin Cider. B.J. Gobble. Dr. E. Ville. Dickie Holder. Belle Ends. Dick Mann. Hayden Seek. Alec Tricity. Consecutively Mrs Hercock immediately followed by Mr Bob Hiscock which made me chuckle. And my personal favourite - Mr. A. Handasyda-Dick.
  18. Not sure about the two tone. I certainly don't hate it... but I'm not completely convinced about it either. I know, that's possibly the least helpful response of ever. Sorry about that. It's this kind of cyberbullying that means I spend all my time washing mine. He's right though.
  19. They can be, but I doubt you'll get the shine from polishing them (I don't think the paint is glossy by it's nature, I stand to be corrected on that though). They can be removed and painted all shiny though.
  20. Just Mouthwash? Are you sure there won't be anyone else tagging along now, Grundy?
  21. Don't worry Stevo, it'll happen for you one day.
  22. Yeah, but the off centre cubby open-making-button (technical term ) is much more incorrectly oriented on the 70 and that is much, much, much more difficult to correct.
