Lol, can't beat a bit of faffing. It didn't rain that much today either It will all be good looking back from the finished side What could possibly go wrong?

Gulp...

Just done a reccy.. 4 hours of offering up this and thinking about modding that etc. . S/C pipes fitment and AC :gulp: . Intercooler - big barsteward that.. . Power steering cooler movement - easy . Oil cooler - does not fit in place mishi recommends. Will have to do the threaded bar trick on the bumper bar - which stopped play for today as I will have to put the car back together again to go to the shops. Glad I didn't go ahead and drain all the oil out first! . Bumper skin will need a bit but not much trimming. Might have to borrow dremel from work.. . Mishi oil hoses are really long . Thermo sandwich plate install looks easy and should fit fine. Fortunately I have correct sized socket too. . Stillen sump will hopefully go on ok with the magic tools . Rad fans definately don't come out with out taking the top rad hose off (was hoping to do a cheeky swap, but will save that for thermostat fitment day - and order more coolant as only half a jar left) Gratuitous shot of how the pulleys still look Fails: Only broke 3 bumper shell captives - stupid ones at the bottom corners twisted right off. Forgot to put the bumper foam back in after putting it all back together No matter how many times I do it, I still hate having to jack up to get the big jack under to then get the stands under. Coming back down between jacks always causes trauma So, I'm not entirely disheartened, but it will require some digging in by the looks of it, although nothing in terms of actual fitting was achieved on this occasion

Lol, mine is my daily - it will take me months..

I'm sure it will be fine. Apart from the slightly dodgy fitting couple of bits in the AAM kit (formerly Altered Atmosphere Motorsports ) I'm REALLY pleased with all of mine. You may or may not have different parts to me, but the Vortech, Mishimoto, Stillen, and Injector Dynamics stuff in mine is TOP quality What could possibly go wrong? And like you say, a big thanks to Chris for sourcing it all with minimum fuss

Cmck13 - AAM via Tarmac. Here are a couple of really useful guides from the FRS I should have bought.. http://tech.cj-motorsports.com/?p=25 http://tech.cj-motorsports.com/?p=13 No holes or thread misfits in their kit. Particularly, they state that pressure must be maintained in the bypass nozzle plug assembly. A hole at this point would be a blatant internal leak. Just noticed also that in the AAM kit, one of the fuel rail dampers gets deleted too, whereas it's retained in CJM by the ported CNC extension. AAM is just a block of aluminium which you connect the regulator pipe to.

Good tips to smooth the surface where the upper bulkhead union mounts. It's still a mystery about the weird hole in the elbow union with its mixed threads though. I've ordered a -04AN part from Hong Kong (eBay ) in the mean time, and sent a email to AAM via Tarmac, so we'll see what is what in due course. In your pictures, your lower union doesn't have a hole in the side of it - at least from the angles shown containing the pics with replacement regulator nozzle/elbow combo. Love a bit of intrigue, provided ultimately there is a successful explanation.
-
Yep, thats the chappy. In the generic instructions pdf for the full return kit, it's the -04AN to 1/8 NPT 90 deg elbow. It would be the sh1ttiest design if it was deliberately drilled when it connects directly to a CNC'd nozzle. Both the nozzle and pipe ends are -04AN threads to - so ramming it in by only 2 turns before the thread jams up would be pants... Must be a bug - or should have bought CJM Although it doesn't look it on this pic, (as the pic angle makes the nozzle thread look finer) both the aluminium nozzle and pipe ends are -04AN. At the other end of the pipe, I'm guessing the metal collar with an O ring pushed into the groove at the pipe bulkhead union end is an upgrade over the two nylon washer approach. Undocumented, but makes sense.

Easy tigers.. haven't finished admiring the kit in my spare bedroom yet. Engine porn! Love Vortech and Mishimoto engineering especially

3 years 2 months so far. My two previous cars I kept for 10 years each, and the ones before that (Alfas) till they went from rusty to really rusty. All being well, my metal mistress a keeper for ever

There you. All installed. Not getting much boost though Before anyone says - yes, cocked up the routing of the coilover extension cables. CBA to fix it at the mo.

well it won't be finished next week.. I'm still planning my vacuum/PCV circuits and getting fittings. Big catch can to medium NRV and small OEM pcv, and even smaller MAP/boost sensor and tiny fuel regulator Then there is a slight fly in my FRS ointment - I seem to have been given a defective 90 deg -04 AN elbow. Its got a dubious hole drilled in the side of it and is incompatible with the (possibly revised) internal pipe and fuel pressure plug threads. I'm still waiting for certain tools to come through the post too. Oil system bits will be put on first though. And I will eventually start out life with the Vortech belt and 3.33 pulley (chook cluck cluck)

Now that is a box that won't fit in a Zed easily

I took the approach that once the wallet taps were open, just let it flood Assuming that overstretched stock components might work, compared to upgrades which will work, proven, matched and give headroom with larger dynamic range, I thought it would be better to splurge on the side of operational safety as it's not every day that I add a supercharger to my zed Tuners recommend upgraded MAF - especially if you are tuning with the uprev software. Vortech recommend fitting an FMS to regulate fuel pressure avoid fuel surge/starvation - which could be a homebrew although I personally bought a kit (AAM are pricey for what they are in hindsight!). Vortech FAQ says a 15minute recalibration of MAF is possible - not sure that would be feasible for us though. I do understand what you mean though - I can't get over the idea that a GT MAF might just be an ordinary one with a potential divider slapped across it ..and I've not bought a GT MAF or R-MAF yet, but I will.

Snap! Silver, red and supercharged. Very tasteful combination! You even have the same coils as me You need some red Eibach ARBs though - even just for extra red

So we've got plumbing type stuff covered with Earls and Carbuildersolutions, in case you didn't know, here is a rather good site for DIY instrumentation - sensors, plugs etc: http://www.efi-parts.co.uk ..Small but seems good, and slightly more automotive focussed than the likes of big generics like RS components / Farnell. I'm investigating doing a diy microcontroller based auxiliary monitoring system, rather than fork out on mahoosively expensive built gauges and kit. I haven't decided quite where this idea is going yet - hopefully not too 'back to the future' - but it's all part of the fun of driving around in an engineering project.. I'm starting small with oil temp mapped by an Arduino driving bar leds. Active monitoring with logging possibilities and alarmed threshold detection with a very simple (unobtrusive) UI is the plan.. Then boost, iat and twin wideband AFR. Edit: dis-ambiguate names.

I've been calling Chris "Santa" in messages. Unfortunately this has impanted a mental image of a fat dude with a long white beard in a romper suit and wellies going yo ho ho.. I'm looking forward to the presents delivery bit though

That looks like a stonkingly useful website Kyle. Edit: their online shop links out to here: https://secure.demonweb.co.uk/earls100/earls_shop/

I thought it was a big shame the Hybrid Porches didn't finish. I was watching Mark Webber (cheering #20 on) with the streamed first person view camera at the time when his internal combustion engine lost a cylinder or what ever it did, then it was just a mess of electrical and nasty transmission noise whilst he tried to get it all back together. Il est mort. I have a bit of a soft spot for the NEOD - extreme innovation has to be a good thing, although it may have sucked the budget out of any other development. I was really proud of the number of Nissan powered collaborations that rocked LM P2 Bit sad maybe, sat in the dark for hours, wife upstairs in bed, but I found it mesmerising on a big telly late at night with a few beers... loved it Count us in for a trip next year!

#20 ... crunch.. whine..... noooo..

Come on car #20 !!

^^ Really good app that. I've been watching the in car vids streamed from the iPad over airplay/appleTV to the 50" plasma - completely brilliant!

This is flattery though - they see a decent car and try to get a raise out if its owner. They wouldn't bother if it were a mondeo
