  1. Just clicked that link - gross
  2. In theory it would make a parts department redundant. Imagine selecting your part on the internet and having it made, and ready, by the time you have turned up at a shop!
  3. You wouldn’t be bored driving the Skoda from experience! As an alternative http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201207450198388/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-mileage/up_to_60000_miles/price-to/5000/fuel-type/diesel/price-from/3000/model/156/make/alfa_romeo/postcode/ts36as/radius/1501/page/1?logcode=p
  4. Hi & the search bar is your friend! Also use the "Forum Index" on general subject matter (left hand side of the pale blue bar above this one) Good luck
  5. Well to put it into perspective from my last few diesel cars... 1997 Peugeot 1.5 Diesel (non turbo) done 165k miles. I was getting 56mpg out of it on my commute. 2000 Peugeot 306 2.0 HDI done 90k miles. I was getting 48mpg. 2001 VW Golf GT TDI 115bhp done 175k miles. I was getting 58->63mpg 2003 Peugeot 2.0 HDI 90bhp, done 112k miles. Getting 48->49mpg. Brand spanking new Juke 1.5 Dci getting 48mpg on same commute. All driven in the same way on the same commute. Personally id have thought that as technology improved over the years that newer diesel engines would have been more efficient and therefore get better mpg, not worse! You might be right though with the aero dynamics thing. The front of the Juke is like a brick wall! Maybe thats why its getting lower mpg than some of the older sheds ive driven. I think it’s the curse of modern cars to a degree they are heavier and have more things stuffed into the exhausts and induction. Plus the aerodynamics play a big part too. EG: I remember my Grandfather owning one of the first "Slippery" shaped Audi 100's in 1983. This is a massive car, with a petrol 2.2 5cyl engine, it did 40 mpg all day long!!
  6. Supose you get what you pay for. You only get a standard 1 year warranty on Porsche and the extention is very expensive from memory, but I think you get a discount on it if you by on purchase day of the car? Full 3 years now on brand new stuff, extended warranty after that is just over £1K a year, but like I say it covers everything. You get 2 years full warranty on the used cars too, which is still pretty good. Really! You know that the man old man was looking at the new Boxster, re the post. He is still being told that its just one year, and he has to pay for the other two years!!
  7. I used to be right in to coffee the stronger the better like that Turkish stuff you can stand your spoon up in !! But like the fags, the wife weaned me off most of my vices I now drink tea........ ............Whilst shooting up heroin and murdering prostitutes

  9. No, warranties are tricky things and need to read very carefully. I am fairly sure that the first year of any warranty covers more than the extra two and then any further extension to that will result in a reduction in cover. I think that in the first year there is an element of guarantee in the first year, which is a slightly different thing. I guess it’s like any insured product, the likely hood of a claim will grow with the age of the car, and therefore the risk too.
  10. Might be worth trotting along to your local Uni, see what they have to offer and what you will get at the end. My wife went back to school to learn Law at 26, did it part time so it took her 5 years for the degree and 2 years for the LPC. The point is that, she had to get back into University life which was the biggest challenge. She then took a part time job selling beds in a shop, and still did £18k a year in, doing that 3 days a week. You just need out of your comfort zone, what’s out there is quite surprising
  11. Caught it on iPlayer yesterday. Most of it was dreadful, but to be fair, I thought that Ryan Reynolds came across well, as a person, not just another Hollywood tool & the Jags sounded good, other than that I agree that USA version is much more watchable
  12. I would say it’s never too late to try something different. Life is not a dress rehearsal, so if you are miserable change your life. The main blockers for something like this are usually responsibility i.e. kids, wife, sick parents etc. If you have nothing of these then its down to you old boy! If you have a trade it can take you places, if you want it too. I am 39 and hopefully I will have moved my life to Canada within the next few months. Change your life, you will feel much better Just as a foot note I had a friend who was an average student at school, bummed around doing shitty little jobs so he could finish college, as he wanted to be a policeman. He tried several times to get in and was so fit for the tests he could have joined the army! Sadly because he didn’t fit the ethnic demographic at the time, he was refused for the final time. Devastated his head disappeared up his arse for 6 months. When his head reappeared, I asked him “What now?†He replied, “Promise you won’t laugh?†“No, of course notâ€, I said “Spaceman, I want to go in to space†At this point, naturally I thought, that’s it, his tiny mind is broken, but being supportive I said “great go for it!†Long story short, he packed his bags and trotted off to Bristol University He still hasn’t quite made it in to space but has a lot to do with it. I am extremly proud of him, it was a bold move that really paid off http://www.physics.bristol.ac.uk/people/laing_a/index.html
  13. The great man Dirty Harry once said "A man needs to know his limitations..." This is one way of finding out what they are !
  14. Not sure the 5.7L engine could make my 30+ mpg!!! From the stats it looks worse than the Zed! Interior looks quite plush though... Chris I just didnt want you getting board
  15. Can't knock the paint job, but thats not a pretty car Cool Stingray in the back ground though
