  1. All i did to the zed was wash with autoglym car shampoo/conditioner , polish with super resign polish and cleanse with hd cleanser and finally wax with autoglym hd wax. I would top up the wax every couple of weeks with aqua wax. Actually i got really good results with that routine now i think about it. Theres a new autoglym srp out thats not as grity and its got cleansing properties included. When i get time i'll post photos of my zed after an amatuer detail and my bmw before and after
  2. Cant help thinking im missing something out mate
  3. Ok, so im going to have a go at detailing my own cars. Ive opted to use dodo juice products. Ive listed below the steps/products that im going to use, so any comments/advice would be gratefully appreciated. 1, wash car using two bucket method using dj born to be mild shampoo and wash mits. 2, clay car using clay bar and dj born slippy lube. 3, Repeat stage 1 again. 4, polish/cleanse car using dj lime prime or lime prime light by hand. 5, Wax car using dj supernatural wax. 6, maintain finish by regular washing and by using dj red mist. I intend to use lime prime on my 1 year old saphire black vauxhall and lime prime light on my brand new alpine white bmw. I will wash and use dj red mist weekly, i will wash and top up with dj supernatural wax monthly and i will repeat all steps every six months. I know it looks a bit ocd but i want to get it right from the start. Thanks for any advice in advance!
  4. Thanks for the advice mate, i'll also need born to be mild or supernatural shampoo, glass cleaner and i might get the tyre dresser if its any good. Should i buy normal lime prime for my saphire black vauxhall as its over a year old now.
  5. Sounds good to me, hope your mileage goes up as i wouldnt want it to spoil your enjoyment of your new car. Let me know how you get on once you've filled up a few times.
  6. so should i use srp or lime prime before the super natural wax? Any other suggestions tips welcome
  7. You'll be able to smell more than chocolate the time were finished with it
  8. Do you know what the dj polish is called? I think it might be called lime prime?
  9. Ive always used autoglym srp and hd wax. Ive just bought a brand new alpine white bmw. I was thinking about changing to dodo juice products but i simple find there range confussing Anyway what products would you recommend to polish and wax my car. Ive also got a saphire black vauxhall, would i need a seperate wax for it or is there one wax that would do both cars?
  10. Is this the same as "the pedal dance", which im still not sure actually worked as i had no engine management lights on, so im not sure it reset. I basically disconnect and the reconnect my battery? I think you leave it disconnected for a while mate. Make sure you have your radio code just incase. Better asking someone exactly how its done. I only had my zed for 9 months before i traded it in, ive always had turbos before ( vxr's) therefore im more informed when talking about the vxr range. I think my next performance car will be a turbo again, i found my vxr's only ate fuel when you where giving it some . The rest of the time i got the same mpg as a normal 2.0L. I found the zed just ate fuel all the time irrespective of how it is driven. Im still really glad i bought it though as soon big engines will be a thing of the past.
  11. I can only imagine some of the things that this teddy will be getting up to . Really looking forward to the photos! I might even book a weekend to Amsterdam, just to get some intresting photos with teddy
  12. Im going to egypt on holiday on monday
  13. So my mpg seems reasonable to u mate? as i said, im strugglin to get 100 miles out of £50/8gallons. I'll fill up with momentum a few times, see if that helps iron things out. No mate i think your fuel economy is really bad. I would expect around 165 miles for £50. All cars are different mate! Im not the most technical person but as you've went from 95 ron to 99 ron, it might help if you reflash your ecu. I think you can do this by disconnecting the battery??? I think this gives you the benefits of the 99 ron sooner rather than having to go through a few tanks of fuel before your engine adjusts for the higher octane. I might be wrong about this probably better asking someone who knows a bit more about it.
  14. If its any help mate, i always run my car on 99 ron momentum. All my driving was short journeys ( less than 2 miles) my car was in tip top condition with full up to date service history. If i put £40 worth of petrol in i would get around 132 miles. I only put up with it as i only done 3000 miles a year in the zed! I also stay near glasgow so due to bad weather i also was driving carefully.
  15. No offence taken mate. Im glad i got nearly £7000 dicount on my new bmw Only because the new one's out soon. The reason why i didnt wait and pay full price for new model is that i prefer the e90. Also, its going to be a year or two before they bring out the m sport!
  16. If you read my post again you will see that i was asking the question, " who would be stupid...". At no time did i refer to anyone personally as being stupid. Im almost positive that you'll want to keep this going, therefore i sincerley appologise to anyone whom i may have offended for implying that they may be stupid for spending a small fortune on a tub of car wax!
  17. I appreciate your opinion mate, and if someone wants to pay x amount of money for something then fair enough. But i can assure you im jealous of no man! Im as happy as a pig in @*!# right now. Just picked up my brand new bmw last wednesday, im flying out to egypt on monday for a wee week away with the wife, my 7k trade in cheque from bmw fell through the letterbox today. Life's great! As ive already said i might be alot of things but jealous just isnt one of them!
  18. WTF Well, I would. I probably would too If someones got the money to spend £2k on the wax then good for them. I can't stand people who feel the need to slate others because they couldn't afford to buy it themselves I never said i couldnt afford it, i just said i wouldnt pay that much for it. Theres a difference!!
  19. I just traded mine in for 7k and it was pristine in every way! I wish someone on here had got it at that price instead of a dealer, but i did advertise it on piston heads first.
  20. Hi mate, i always used momentum and i found it to be really good. I would recommend mark at the garage in motherwell, he is really good, really knows his stuff and will spend all day answering all you questions! He is also very reasonable. By the way, his garage is actually called " the garage"
  21. Seriously, who would be stupid enough to buy into a car wax that costs thousands? A good prep and a couple of coats of dodo juice wax or autoglym hd wax and its job done. Lets face it theres kids out there starving to death for the sake of a couple of quid!
  22. Just had a quote from aviva online for my brand new bmw 320i m sport plus. £230! with my wife as an additional driver. Ive got full ncb, my cars garaged and i only do up 6k miles per year. They also quoted me on my 2010 vx corsa 1.2 sxi, £305. Same details but ive only built up 1 years ncb on corsa and my wife is main driver and im additional driver. Thats a total of £530 per year to insure my two cars
  23. You couldnt have looked very hard mate. Ive just traded in an absolutely mint gunmetal grey with perfect standard wheels with new tyres! I had it on piston heads and only had one enquiry a few days before i traded it in. All i was looking for was 7k. When i say the car was perfect i mean pristine and totally standard as it was when it left the factory
