Good right up! Its not the...prettiest of things but when you look at these sort of cars M6, M5 (V10), M3(V8) with not too much mileage you can pick them up at pretty 'good' prices! Very tempting if you've got the means I nearly mentioned fuel economy..but lets be honest if your able to even look at a car with a V10 and consider it you won't be bothering too much about mpg... lol

If you could stretch for an HR I'd go there, but for the £7K Id find a well looked after DE pre-facelift. If you are going for the 2006 facelift, be aware that a lot of people have had oil issues and you apparently need to keep a good eye on the oil too. I nearly bought one but stumped up a bit more for an HR, was well worth it. Having a glance on Autotrader there's not much for that price under 50K miles, so a 55' that's been pampered is your best bet I think. EDIT - Both are still nippy so wouldn't worry too much about power lol

Anybody know of any rolling roads up here in Scotland that are available to see what my cars putting out these days (then possibly help it perk up a bit depending on the result lol). No hot water lol Use cold water from the tap then you can mix it with a bit of luke warm, gradually dribbling it over (best to use a bottle of some sort, big coke one or something). Don't just splash it on lol Also unlock/lock a few times if the locks are frozen.

Still got that long bonnet Supra look to it. I like it.

Found these on youtube, had seen em previously before I thought about going up to Crail. A TTRS isn't hugely powerful either in standard trim, isn't it like 340 odds? I think theres a plus model too with more power. Apparently this ones 425.. look fast!

I don't think you'd like...or put it this way be 'excited' by a TTS, go for the TT-RS if anything.

I seriously considered spending a lot more money than my HR on a new Astra VXR, was even in a showroom at one point discussing specs but thankfully I bailed lol. The Zed (especially the minor HR facial tweeks) still looks fresh today and parked up, despite the arches and bulge it sits looking very smart indeed. Nothing sticking out, no spoilers etc, just a good honest special looking car. The Astra is a good looking car but I wouldn't say special. Again I'm biased as I'm not into spoilers everywhere and boy racer looks...but then again.. I did nearly go for one. (sometimes wondering how much cheaper to run it'd be when the Zed running costs come about ) Power wise I'd love to see a rolling start on a youtube video between them would be good, but otherwise in the real 30-60, car park world, the Zed I think has the Astra for ...'kerb appeal' or whatever. Theres just something nicer about a car that looks good..on its own, no additions. I do like the Astra big wheels though... My only concern with the Astra when I looked at one is why is it so big?!

In sticking with the thread topic*, I know I mentioned like an SL earlier etc... but for rough power and keeping pace, can anyone name the 'fastest' or what people might perceive as a faster car. Like just having a think... a Porsche 911 from a certain year? An old old 80's Ferrari (doubtful lol) but you get the picture. What kinda 'surprising' stuff could the Zed... not beat but hold it head up high with? Any suggestions? *(Infact ths should be in the other 'league' thread that's up actually but meh...similar...)

I just looked at a site and the Zeds apparently 1542kg? So does that make the HR about 200bhp per ton? That's not bad is it? (1545kg 178 for the 276) EDIT - 1475kg for the new Astra VXR making it around 187 bhp per ton. (just took the weights off parkers so dunno how accurate) Fairly evenly matched I'd say
