  1. Well, that's a horrible story. I certainly hope someone manages to get hold of them somehow. I'd certainly be looking for ways to imprison them. Hope your car's ok.
  2. Connect everything up, turn tap on, turn PW on at wall, turn PW on at unit. The pump will then cycle water through the PW hose and then your ready to rock and roll! The hose connector goes on the front of this unit, it screws on and then the hose should have another connecter that will clip onto the PW one, give it a decent push and it will make an audible click. The PW hose (the thinner black one) has a fitting that needs to be properly pushed in, again it will feel like it clicks into place and then the screw bit goes around it to help hold it in place. Neither end should really leak any water. Make sure the tap is turned all the way on up to full pressure. Enjoy!

    Any ideas..?

No joy with Event either - they don't have the tyres and don't cover my area anyway. Bit the bullet and went for 4 x FK452 in the correct sizes. People seem to like them so i'll see what they are like!

    Any ideas..?

Speedo will read a couple percent too fast, so id actually be doing less than what it said I could bump the fronts to 235 40 18 - that would make the overall size difference less, but it would change the stagger on the wheels from front to back.. Alternative is to just get 225 40 18 VUS now and keep the rear RE050s until 245 40 18 VUS are available. Not sure which is the best of a bad bunch of options!!

    Looks like VUS are available in 225 40 18 but not 245 40 18 ... grrrr! Would running 225 40 18 and 245 45 18 cause me any problems?

    Any ideas..?

Called Tyremen a couple of days ago - they aren't expecting VUS for the fronts in stock until the end of may

    Any ideas..?

My fronts are about to die Im currently running RE040's on the front and RE050's (not A's) on the rear (don't blame me, they were on the car when I bought it) My tyre of choice are a set of VUS on all 4 corners. However nowhere seems to have the Vreds in stock on the front. Does anybody know of anywhere that does? I don't really want to drop down further than that though - so does anyone have any suggestions? Some body mentioned Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 to me but I have zero experience of them. Camskill don't appear to have RE050A in stock for the rears. What would peoples opinions be on getting PS2s for the front only? Cannot really justify £800 on all 4 corners in one go when the rears still have about 5mm Never known it to be this awkward to get tyres!
  8. He'll probably be trying to screw it onto his shed
  9. Can you add me to the list please? Cannot resist gadgets!
  10. That's a good buy, cheap. I paid about £10 more for this exact washer a year or so ago. It's a good bit of kit, better than the equivalent Karcher as these ones use metal pump internals as opposed to the Karchers that use plastics which wear out a lot faster. As above, the Kew fitting is the correct one for the foam bottle - it does come with one but is not brilliant. I use the free one for applying diluted all purpose cleaner if im doing a 'big clean'. The proper foam bottle is a cracking bit of kit. A 5l bottle of snow foam will last ages
  11. When I bought the Zed, there was no wheel nut key for the locking bolts with the car. I was pretty miffed but I thought a quick trip to Nissan will fix that for about £18. So off I toddled and they were helpful and found the right key by trial and error using a set of masters (only 7 types of Key for the Zed apparently) then ordered the relevant part. Stupidly, when I latter returned to pick the part up I didn't immediately check that it was the correct one.. Until today. I was going to put some spacers on and have a crack at changing the front drop links. Key doesn't fit. A cursory glance shows its not the right shape for the wheel nuts. For f***s sake! Grumble grumble grumble etc: Now I know I should have checked straight away but I'm still well p****d off with Nissan. Just as well I didn't discover this trying to sort a flat at the side of the road really! Think I'll wait till the morning before I ring them so as not to shout at some poor receptionist.
  12. I think you should go for it. ...Primarily so I can see what ita like and possibly copy it..
  13. An Awesome of Zed's. If we are going to do it, we might as well re-define a word whilst we're at it.
  14. The tax man can still come after you automatically. Through a computer database, basically. However, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. They won't go anywhere near you until your a good month or so out of date. Same for a cop - in the unlikely event that a cop does you for no tax (it's not a 'chalk' for us ) - it wont matter unless your far out of date. People making honest mistakes aren't the ones we/they are after!
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Noye Not really worth getting into the arguement. Just phone the cops if they keep following you.
  16. I love being at work with weather like this, especially since i'm outside most of the time. (Just a pity im on nights )
  17. To be fair, he's one cop and there's at least three of them? I think he did a pretty decent job. I've spoke to people like that at work plenty of times. Sometimes the old 'excuse me fine sir, would mind terribly staying still?' just doesn't cut it. Better to swear than start pistol whipping people Nice to see from that video that the 50 yard heroes aren't just a UK phenomenon!
  18. If the M.I.B says no insurance then they aren't driving that car any further until they can prove otherwise, simple as. Un-roadworthy is a big thing too, I stopped a car at about 1.15am this morning that was driving around with literally no exhaust. The idiot behind the wheel even had the cheek to complain at having being pulled 3 times in 2 days :S That car should be getting turned into a fashionable piece of furniture today (in all fairness, he planned to scrap it himself). Please don't mistake my comments on average speed cameras. I absolutely hate them Side note - Steroids are illegal, there's an urban myth that they are legal to posses. This is wrong, you can be arrested for it. However many cops don't realise this (I only looked into properly a month or two back when I mate locked somebody up for it). I'm in Northumbria Police Force and I was working when Moat went on the run and was stood in Rothbury watching bits of him get rinsed into the river so you will get no arguments from me there
  19. If speed is the main factor for accidents / deaths then surely the government would be planning on installing average speed cameras across the country? They are the only ones that are truly effective. Personally, as a cop, I use my discretion. I generally wont pull somebody unless they are doing about 15mph over the speed limit or if they are driving erratically/dangerously. I will also have a far lower tolerance for bangers being driven too fast. If I have to pay to keep my car in a safe state then im going to make sure everyone else does too. My biggest problem is with distracted drivers. Mobiles, lipstick/make-up, lighting a cigarette - do any of that on the move and your going to court. Personally I think smoking in a moving vehicle should be illegal for any person inside the car. The speed limits on the motorways should be raised - I honestly think this would make people more likely to obey the limits where they are imposed..
  20. Cheers Alex - whats the costs? Also, is there an easy way to visually check?
  21. Done - cannot hurt. E-mailed my MP with my sob story too, £150 per month on a short commute to work even though I work long shifts so theres less journeys per month than most... could be facing a pay cut... could be seeing a pension rise... could be working longer... will be paying more tax / NI... sob sob sob
  22. Cheers - just read up on the Powergrid ones from Z1autos, they are probably more than I require. Once I confirm the drop links are the problem ill see about getting some from here - better than giving Nissan my money
  23. Getting a 'clunking' sound when the front nearside wheel goes into a pothole at anything other than crawler speeds. Suspension looks fine so im thinking its a drop link, I vaguely recall having read about this being a problem with the Zeds? Whats the rough costing for a new set of drop links? Is it possible to check visibly? (haven't even tried yet) And I guess when it comes to replacing them then or :pmr35lee: will be the answer? Finally, is it an easy job? The fronts were easy on the Celica but the rears were a right pain!
  24. Took a while, but im finally booked in (the joy of shifts) Friday 29th April at 10am - it would be rude not to go down with a mate and have a few pints on the night..
  25. I was in the same situation a couple of years back. Was working at Northern Rock, in IT at the head office and began to get the itch. In fact I 'effing hated my boss and eventually my job, even though I was pretty good at it. Just after the Rock went down I left and joined the Police - possibly quite risky, given that I didn't know if I would like it or if I would be able to hack it or not. Happily, it was the best choice I've ever made. I love my job, the people I work with are great and at the PC / Sgt ranks there is next to none of the politics and BS that plague every other industry i've worked in. Im also extremely lucky to have gotten in before the cuts etc. There were only a couple more intakes after mine and now the last is coming to the end of their initial training. Roll on the end of my probation in a couple months time I say Im 25 now - it's not too late to change if thats what you want.
