  1. Cheers! Stick me down as number 6 then. I'll contact RS to book on my next set of days off.
  2. Is this still open? - Just spotted it now and im after a remap + plenum spacer fitting.
  3. I drove my dad down to this place on Monday.. he just had his Qashqai serviced there. P3 service plus front brake pads changed... £543 and some pennies. It's not my money, but I was nearly sick when he told me the cost.
  4. Can you even get steelies to fit the zed?? I would seriously consder some with snowies fitted if they would clear the brembos..
  5. My Zed has been getting me where I need to be in the worst of the weather.. including driving to and from work on nightshifts with fresh snow / ice. As long as you dont stamp on the go pedal is largely fine IMO - and I live in Northumberland.. snow can be pretty bad up here.
  6. My car has been buried in works car park for 3 days now If I could get it out of the car park I could probably get it home.. Had a few near crashes in the work astras and have had too dig out a couple of Posche's blocking off busy roundabouts. Lost count of the number of roads we've had to close down because of black ice. The work beemers get stuck on little inclines.. and theres an incline to get out of their compound :S Officially sick of the snow.
  7. 1) SteveW, pending funds at time of GB happening. 2) 1973safc 3) Rancer 4) 5)
  8. Awesome. Simply awesome. Im too young for some of these (25) but I need that first show in my life. The titles make it look like the disturbed love child of a four way from Star Trek, Star Wars, Power Rangers (the joiny-up robot thing) and Transformers.
  9. As per JetSets pst, im finding it not much worse than the Celica 190 that was supposed to have 33mpg. So for only £50 P.A in insurance and £10 P.A in Tax.. it's a no-brainer. Certainly no complaints!
  10. I've learnt to asume all other drivers on the roads are complete idiots. It's far safer that way. Just think of the stupidest thing the car in front, beside or behind you could possibly do and wait for it to happen. About 2 months ago I was heading down the A1 in the passenger seat of a traffic car going to a job. We were doing just a tad over 150mph with all lights and sirens going and some nutter pulled out in front of us! Thankfully the brakes in the BMWs are pretty decent and a couple of blasts on the airhorn got them to notice the big blue flashy thing behind them.. I would say it was totally unbelievable.. but it's not. (bored and resurecting threads)
  11. Looks like it will be a mini fuel up to tide me over til the 12th then
  12. That's one well trained neighbour! I'd love to use a car cover, but im fairly sure the little 'Pixies' round my way work differently to yours - they'd have the cover away in the middle of the night.
  13. he price was for a full refurb, yes. The Wheel Specialist quoted themselves out of the picture at £376 :S I have heard mixed reports about Romax, though mostly good. May give them a shout. I've just e-mailed Rimfurbish based on a thread at Detailing World. They offer wheel exchange and collection / delivery services so we will see what they have to say. Also dipped my foot in the water re: possible club discounts / step by step with pictures showing the work carried out..
  14. Hi all, Just got off the phone with S.E.M in Sunderland who I think I have seen mentioned on here before. Quoted £235 for all four wheels (18" Rays) to be refurbed, which I think is a decent price? Does anyone have any experience of them? Also, they will need my wheels for 3 days, im wondering do they stock replacement wheels or keep the car up there or is it a case of me needing to sort something out myself? Forgot to ask those questions on the phone, though it was a pretty horrible connection so woulda been there for a while I think! Any ideas?
  15. Sounds like a good deal - count me in too
  16. Thats exactly why I was looking! to the avatars
  17. Yeah, took the spacesaver out and had a root around, couldn't see anything. I'll try again in the morning and if no joy it will be a trip to Nissan I guess. £15 isn't too bad. Thanks for the quick replies!
  18. Well I've pretty much turned the car upside down and theres no sign of the locking wheel nut key.. is there some secret storage cubby hold im not aware of where they are normally kept? I don't think the last owner did any DIY work so they are probably left wherever the normally are. I've checked all the inside storage spaces I can find and the rear near the spacesaver too Just text the guy I bought the car off to see if he has them, but im assuming the worst. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so how did you get them off? I have a set of bolt removers that will probably do the job unless there is an easier way? Do the dealers have master keys? and what would be the price? Lastly - any links to tell me what size replacements to get? OEM or a set of McGards?
  19. Looks like a lot of Celica owners upgrading to a Zed! - im one of them too. I've only done 100 or so miles in the Zed so far and the changes are a bit harder but I think thats more down to me than the car. They keep getting better the more miles I do. The Zed is far more refined than the Celica (I had a 190 running closer to 200bhp) and by comparison the Celica is 'plasticky' and 'rattley' - still sad to see her go though.
  20. A fair few in GM mate, yeah. I prefer Black though. If I was going to ge a GM one it would be this one: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=38116
  21. From a previous thread he's on "the wrong side of the Tyne" but I have no idea what is the right side Haha, im on the right side of the Tyne (Newcastle). The first car I went to see was on the wrong side (Sunderland). It's a Northern thing, anything below the Tyne is the South of England and anything further up the North is Scotland. Picked the car up this morning - only been able to drive it to work and back, but starting to adapt to how it drives quite nicely I think.
  22. After a couple months of looking I've finally sorted myself with a decent car. 54 plate Kuro Black GT with 39k on the clock for £10k Wheels need a refurb and i'll need to machine polish the car to sort the paintwork - the previous owner must have been a fan of drive through car washes Picking it up in the morning but then im on lates Thur-Sun so I won't get a chance for a proper play with the car Pics taken from auto-trader. I'll put some proper ones up when I get the chance. Quite a happy fella! It drives better than the last one I had a play with, feels lovely and tight and torquier (is that a word?) than the 35th Anniversary Fairlady I drove - guess that will be due to the different engines. Gear change is like a rifle bolt too. Me-likey.
  23. Just saw this thread.. what ended up happening? If you report an accident like this to the Police they can give you the other drivers insurance info for you to be able to file a claim with his company. You can also ring back to request an update re the case with the other driver as he should be prosecuted for Failing to stop, failing to report and possibly careless driving. In the circumstances you have outlined I'd do my best to take the guys license off him (I'm a cop) given his aggressive nature. Incidentaly don't worry about not asking for his details. The responsibility is on him to give them to you and one of the 'defences' for not passing on your own details is fear / aggressive behaviour from the other driver. If it turns out he isn't insured then on top of the above offences he will be done for driving whilst uninsured - thats another 6 points and a fine + his car will be seized. So if he isn't insured then at least you get his car and license taken off him and maybe save another driver some heartache! - by the way, well done for getting some photos! Makes the cops job a lot easier! Make sure you 'hassle' the cops about whats happening though - for some reason a lot of cops don't like dealing with traffic offences even though they are **** easy and get knackers like him off the road.
  24. Lovely looking car, might be a bit out of range of what im looking to spend though Pity it wasn't registered a couple of weeks earlier!
  25. Congrats mate, looks like a good'un! Hopefully be sorting mine out next set of rest days
