  1. Just been down to my local DVLA today to do mine, they say it will take a week. We'll see.
  2. Welcome, 2 blown engines that must say something.
  3. Cheers Alex Another +1 for you.
  4. If you mean the throttle body then there is a release clip on the block connector Do not force it off Thanks. Yes I do mean the throttle body and thats what I thought it might be but I dont see a clip or anything on the block connector that gives. Is it the flat part on the right handside of the block that faces to the nearside of the car? do you push it in etc?
  5. Decided to remove this to enable a new paint job on it. Read up on the guides no problems here, but when attempting to remove the main electrical cable block that I assumed would be a simple pull out job, it feels well and truly stuck. Is there any special push in part as a clip I need to know about or should it just pull straight out? I haven't gave it the full hog yet for fear of breaking anything, thanks in anticipation. Jeff

  13. And if your live anywhere above Watford (considered as up North by many) its RS tuning in Leeds, this makes up the three who are already on this site. When you get bored of uprev have a look at remap for a little light reading +
  14. And the last sentence is exactly what I was getting at
  15. I bought a spare plenum for £55 and had that done first then sold mine for £60. The respray took a couple of days at a local place in Grantham, its powder sprayed the same way as your alloy wheels so actually in total taking the £5 difference off it came to £65 total. If your car man is not busy you should get it done in a day, if you book it in with advanced notice. Sorry just seen the other post above I didnt need to sand it they used a light grit for sand blasting with all the required bits covered up. Cheers Jeff
  16. You should be ok they finished last time around lunchtime.
  17. As per the headline "powder or polish", I decided to powder coat, couldnt be arsed to spend days prepping and polishing and then have to maintain the polish. So decided on the powder way, £70 for the job done locally but you supply a plenum, any colour you like. Cheers Jeff
  18. Insurance dear, nope, fully comp for me is £397. At last there are some advantages in being an old fart.
  19. only one place you can go, used buy many of us on this site, the links below. http://www.paints4u.com/
  20. Hi guys thanks for the comments, I thought there might be a few comments about the plenum because I couldnt be arsed to polish the aluminium finish every few weeks or so. I sought professional opinions about previous comments on this site re flaking of powder coating on the plenum, all of the answers from the dealers were that done professionally this should never happen. You can of course have any colour coated exactly the same as any aluminium wheel and also colour coated to body and or silicone pipe work. I will post photos when fitted and just out of interest it only cost £70, that has be cheap on such an intricated part. Cheers Jeff
