If you bought the car and can't afford the fuel then I'd suggest buying another car. I just don't get it. What else has been cheapened by cutting costs? Tyres, definitely not a good idea with 300 ponies under the bonnet. Brakes? Again not good. Hate to see someone pick it up afterwards and it goes all wrong in them. I'd be wary of buying from someone who spends the minimal amount on their car.

I'd recommend the 530d but with the lci engine. I believe that is a 57 plate onwards.

Probably worth turning on your smartphone recorder when you get a pull, at least you will have something on record even if its only sound. Camera records video footage out of the front windscreen but sound from the unit's mic, so it'd record what I'd need to to prove my case if I ever got pulled over.
