  1. Buster told me about the a pillar and sills. Checked them and they seemed fine. Retired guy selling it. Did 2000 miles in the last two years. Loads of recipes and car was in a very good condition for a non enthusiast owned car imo.
  2. It's cos you're a MOD. I don't have permission.
  3. I know Peter isn't around anymore and he's not a trader but any chance of getting his guide put back up on the site???
  4. Here's the car... https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mazda-mx5-sport-1999-an-original-caronly-3-ownersgood-useable-example/1184506797
  5. Looking at the current market value of what they've been going for. Yeah I get you don't know until you've seen the car but I have to have a budget in mind and my original budget was 2k. So I don't wanna go too far over.
  6. But I've found another mx5 I'm gonna go look at tomorrow morning. Exactly same spec as the previous one, 3000 miles more, one year older and unfortunately £600 more. Other one was underpriced. The one tomorrow is priced imo for what it's honestly worth, but I'm gonna offer him 2250. It's up for 2495.
  7. 2k. Contacted the mx5 seller. Waiting for him to get back to me about seeing it asap.
  8. Not too expensive to run, and some fun. Oh and something quicker than the current 206 1.4 I have use of, which does 0-60 in over 14 seconds.
  9. I'm really liking the mx5 TBH. But my family and fiancee keep telling me the 206 as it's got more seats (planning ahead and all). Ideally they would rather I got a 207 1.4/1.6 na with 5 doors.
  10. Had a 206 gti 180 before the zed for 5 years. Served me very well with no issues.
  11. So I've started looking at other cars in case I can't get a 206 gti 180 that's right and I've come across a mx5 and mr2. Any opinions on them? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201608146797472 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201608287219027 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201608036445549
  12. The Alfa idea is cos I've always wanted one and I think they look great for a small hatchback. I'm a very fussy guy when it comes to cars.
  13. Tbh I think that would be my choice. Save the extra cash and then you can get something properly special for yourself after you're married & settled. Decided on this. Gonna stick with what I know for now and get the GTi 180. Can't wait to have a car again that doesn't take an age to get to 60. I think Jemma's car is 0-60 in 14 secs.
  14. Now add £3.5+K to the price of that for the inevitable engine build he'll need. That's why they're so cheap and I'm avoiding like the plague. I think I'm stuck between the 206 gti 180 and the 207 gti. Plan is after we're married and we've got our house, I could look at a new Alfa Romeo mito. Love the look of them. Or get a small engined fiat 500 or something and only pay 8p per mile so I get 32p per mile back from them and bank the extra.
  15. Fair play. Is that the norm though or were you just lucky?
  16. Not a fan of its looks and want something low mileage so it might last longer with less problems. Touch wood.
  17. Dunno about the gti but the gti 180 was really enjoyable imo. Not sure how it compares to the 205 gti. But as a car on its own it was good.
  18. Yep that's the one bad thing about it. Still considering a 207 gti 1.6 turbo vs the n/a 206 gti 180. Anybody got any ideas on it? Only driven the 206.
  19. I'm a pioneer fanboy so it will be that. Ideally 8800bt or if I went single din the 7800bt.
