    Spacers

I wonder what could be happening to your car next Friday... I'll be waiting for pictures on Saturday!

    Matte zed?

There are a few photos of a really really nice purple zed in the inspirational pictures thread, pg 13: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=32682&start=180
  3. I like the drill, quality bits of kit the Dewalt stuff. Oh, and the speakers look alright too
  4. +1 I'm quite new to this forum, and forums in general, but it hasn't taken long to see that the moderators here do a great job.
  5. I voted for keeping the oem bonnet, I reckon that having both the roof and the bonnet black (or carbon) might be too much. But I like quite standard looking cars anyway so I'm probably not the best person to listen to!

    Event Tyres

I've had four new Falkens fitted by event tyres today, I know a couple of people on here have had bad experiences with them but I was very pleased with the service. I'd arranged for them to be fitted this afternoon, got a call in the morning to check 3-4pm would be ok, they arrived at about 3.30 and it was all finished by 4.00. I could have got the tyres a bit cheaper from Camskill but after you add delivery and fitting it would have worked out almost the same and it was a lot more convenient for someone to come round a do it whilst the car's parked up outside. The fitter, Dave, was also interested in the zed and asked if I was thinking of changing the nissan badges for zed badges as he'd seen a few like that.
  7. Husky, I know where I'll be parking when I return to Whitley in a couple of weeks...

I've driven an XFS (diesel) for a couple of hundred miles and the fuel economy was worse than I get in the zed! But with dynamic mode and sport mode selected it was pretty much as quick as the zed too, pretty impressive stuff. I also found that on wet roundabouts if you prod the throttle a bit the back end does step out slightly before the TC cuts in and stops it. Didn't get as far as turning it off and attempting to drift though!
  9. I'm about 6ft3 and only just fit. With the seat all the way back and the steering wheel lifted fully up then it's pretty comfortable, although I did have to cut my hair recently as it was starting to catch on the headlining... My brothers around 6ft6 and he's tried sitting it but he doesn't fit, wasn't planning on letting him drive it anyway!
  10. Apparently it's actually a Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 with a Ferrari soundtrack dubbed over the top. I'd not heard of "The Run" but I've just looked it up on youtube, it's a Rusty driving through Prague in a similar style to the the original, not as good though.
  11. Had a look at this and thought 'how hard can it be?' Then I tried it and got quite frustrated! Managed to do it now though, so if anyone wants the solution let me know.
  12. It wasn't me but I was there about 15 min earlier filling up at the shell garage - bloody expensive! I've seen a few around Leamington recently, dunno if that's a good thing or not...
  13. I heard a rumour that you may be having some rather serious wheel issues... Good luck though and lets see if you manage to beat the school girls this year
  14. It looks really good . Aren't you tempted to leave it on for a while, or at least until wales so that everyone can see it in person?
  15. Just to check, you're trying to use the switches to the left of the dials are you? The ones on the right change the brightness of the dials, the ones on the left operate the trip computer.
  16. Since there's a few people saying it's not their cup of tea I thought I'd better even it out a bit - I really like it!
  17. I think CS are based in the Midlands and I've read good things about them on this forum. I'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm this...
  18. Found this when I was trying to work out how to post pictures, nice and simple to follow: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=25963&p=377461&hilit=photobucket#p377461
  19. Looks very tidy, like the seats. I'm guessing it's your Celica in the background?
  20. Looking really good. Just wondering, can you wrap the wheels too? Don't know if the wrap could cope with the heat and they'd probably be a right pain to do too but would finish it off quite nicely.

    Which wax?

Thanks for the tips, although I'm probably less sure now than before I asked... It's sounding like most people are happy with what they use so I can't really go wrong.

    Which wax?

Cheers, I'll probably go for the red mist tropical then. Did look at the supernatural but as I'm new to waxing I figured it wasn't worth spending twice as much. Maybe once I've had the zed for a while longer and worked out what I'm doing when cleaning, waxing it etc then I might consider it!
  23. I've had my car for 6 weeks now and I'm slowly learning more and more about detailing it. My old focus used to see a sponge 2 or 3 times a year but I'll be looking after the zed properly! I've spent a long time looking at the detailing section here, reading Polished Bliss and scanning Detailing World but I'm still struggling to decide which wax to use. I've decided to go with a soft Dodo Juice wax but can't decide between the following: - Rainforest Rub - Light Fantastic - Purple haze My cars a Gunmetal and I'm thinking that the Purple Haze sounds like it might be good - can anyone with a GM gives me their opinions as it sounds like quite a few of you use Dodo juice products. Also, I'll be getting some Dodo juice Red Mist as well, do people recommend the standard red mist or the red mist tropical? Thanks!
  24. Do you have a tonneau cover fitted? If you do it's worth checking that the screws for it are nice and tight - I had a really annoying rattle for a while before realising that was the problem.
  25. Mine skipped quite a lot when I got the car but at the recent West Midlands meet Keith and Rich told me that if you leave the air con on all the time it helps a lot - it drys out the air and reduces the condensation inside the CD player. I tried it and so far it seems to be working - it's only skipped a couple of times since and even then it was only really briefly. Another solution is to use the tape deck, I found some old tapes at the weekend and tried it out, not only has it never skipped but you get to listen to some classic 90s tunes too!
