I just love your posts Sarnie .... always short but to the point every time ....... most times no words just a smiley .......... you are obviously a very clear thinker ............... keep it up for 2010
That's exactly why I wouldn't buy an ex demonstrator
OK now to what I would buy in Tricky-Ricky's position.
I don't think I'd go for 370 cos I'm still not sure that it's a significant improvement over the 350 and I still don't like the aesthetics ................
I don't think I'd go for a ragtop cos you've got to be under 30 (preferably with t!ts ) to look good in an open car (IMHO) ...................
I'd probably look at a used 911 or a looked after Z from someone on here or keep my 350Z
Only my opinion of course but even after 6 years ..... I'm still in love with my Zed
The other day when my screen was very frosty, I inadvertently put the wipers on and the drivers side arm made a slight mark in the frost in the same way your nearside one is doing. I guess the tolerance is very small. Could you not file off the bit that is catching?
Had a real good drive to work and back today (about 50 miles there and back on country roads, motorway and a bit in town)
Got up to about 120 leptons and was able to brake hard without wondering if I would slide off the road
Great to be back with my Baby
All in all, with other bits and pieces wrongly diagnosed .......... in the region of £2000.00 (pleeeze don't tell the wifey)
The part was sourced from Nissan ..... £263.55 + VAT and fitted by my local garage.
In response to your PM Dave
I found out what was causing the knock by an expensive process of elimination having checked all the usual stuff and replaced various items as noted in my post. Eventually the noise stopped when the compression rod (item 11 on attached diagram) was changed.

You are right ............... it's so annoying and nearly made me sell the car before it was finally fixed after a year of it getting worse.
Hope you get to the bottom of it shortly.
Sounds like a bad passenger side cat (P0430). Stock cats are covered under the federal emissions warranty for 8yrs/80K. You can try swaping the rear 02's side to side to see if it code changes to P0420 (driver side) but it's most likely the cat.
