  1. just a tad but it's a really good career move so will pay off in the long run... Are you still coming to Cheddar? oooo yes! even if am in the Mini Clubman! ... to be fair do not know how long it will take to sell? may even be in the "ginger beast" Good man Patrick, be really good for you to Jon us if you are going to shift the Zed. You have to what's right for your circumstances. Is there any chance of you getting a '7 month shed' to tide you over this period? If not and you sell the Zed then maybe just go for an 'mid range shed' until your circumstances change and you can get another Zed?
  2. What about a Subaru Legacy / Outback / Forester? Loads of room for the kiddly-winks, well engineered and solid, likelihood it'll run for years and as long as its serviced regularly be as reliable as the day you bought it.
  3. Spotted a lovely GM 370Z as I got to the station just about 7am. You were driving through the lights at the back of Debenhams, heading toward the police station. Very smart looking car
  4. Was on the bus going round the roundabout on the way to work about 8:05 as you pulled up. Very smart looking Zed
  5. The most precious and exclusive 'family' of Zed's..........the "Cosa Peperoncino Rosso" 1.Garetgax 2.Chilli Red 3.Bockaaarck
  6. Zcoxy, I've used these guys in Bristol for a service and to get some other stuff done http://www.fcmmotorsport.co.uk/. CaptainSensible had them fit an Envy Y pipe on his Zed. They specialise on Evo's and Subaru's, doing a lot of competition and race prep I believe. Did some good work on my Zed, very straight forward guys.
  7. Looks like a reasonable buy, tend to agree with choptop that the mileage seems a little low, but that shouldn't put you off on it's own. However; If it has a decent service history, looks like it's been well looked after, then there's no harm arranging to take it for a spin. Would be good if a forum member local to you could take a look at it for you as well.
  8. God dammit! That's the last time I mix Tanqeuray, Schweppes and a good dose of Hair the musical "...harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding..."

  10. Husky, quick question, was your deposit for where you were renting ever registered with one of the government approved Tenancy deposit protection schemes and were you informed that it was registered with one of those schemes in writing?
  11. Foxes are a wild and natural part of our countryside and I'm glad we have them. However; they are a menace to keepers of fowl and other animals and I believe a certain amount of control needs to be applied to their population. I'm not about to criticise the fox for doing exactly what I do in a supermarket - "Mmmm I only need two chicken breasts for dinner but the butcher's got em at half price, so I'll get six, just cos he's got em...". I do support a producers right to protect his/her stock though. If foxes need to be culled then my view is that they should be humanely trapped and destroyed or they should be shot by licensed keepers or marksmen/women as appropriate. Having been shooting in the countryside since I was twelve, or there-abouts, I hope I have a balanced view. l love the countryside and its ongoing existence means a lot to me. Should foxes be culled - Yes. Should they be hunted on horseback with hounds.....I'm not convinced by the strength of the argument .
  12. Hope you have a safe and hassle free run down there as well as having a great Christmas Simon
  13. shadowq, welcome to the forum There's so much useful information, so much advice and help available here, that you'll nearly always find what you're after if you need a hint or any tips. Enjoy the Zed now you've got it
  14. Sounds like a good deal you've got there and fair play. Maybe it's me but tyres are one of the things I just won't "F" about with. You've got a good deal and that's great. For my personal safety I would always replace my tyres with new tyres from a recognised brand from a reputable supplier. It's probably just me but when I bought the Zed I knew it wasn't going to be as cheap to run as a 106 or Clio and that includes the tyres, I'm happy to pay the money required for that, especially in tyres but then maybe I'm a sucker. However as you say they're "the only things between you and the road".
  15. Unlucky Sarnie, so many people 'coming a croper' at the moment, glad you're ok though. Hope the damage isn't too bad and you can get it sorted without too much expense or hassle
  16. Welcome Dirk, she looks lovely There's loads of advice and information to be found on this forum, should you need it
  17. Welcome aboard Joss, fingers crossed you can get hold of your new wheels soon, I love the 270 in Black Rose
  18. An offer from a highly respected ZED owner on here that you might wish to see is still available +1 It would be worth taking up this offer if madmarky is available.
  19. The good news is that you're ok It's a damn shame you got caught out by the old black ice and have suffered some damage. I hope it's not going to be too expensive to sort out it out.
  20. This site is pretty good. www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk
  21. Sat in the front of the replacement coach service from Swindon to Bath due to problems with the train lines. Nice dark (black/blue/GM) overtook us probably 3 miles or so before the Chippenham junction. As you glided gracefully by it cheered me up, the coach journey doesn't seem so bad now
