    TAX!!

Just wait untill you see " - - - - " then you know refulling is top priority! haha hahahahaha! I've watched mine go from 21 to 15 to 10 to 6 to "- - - -" while waiting to fill up at the forecourt. I was only 5 feet away from the pump but it struck the fear into me. Oh and the tax thing, it's a joke, I strongly disagree with the taxing system, simply saying they had to put a cut off somewhere is not a good excuse, it is a majorly flawed system.
  2. 5k a wheel?!?! You make me feel like I robbed the guy, I didn't even knock him on the price. Was a top guy as well. Chris I'll keep them warm for you mate, if you had the cash I would sell them but I think I'd regret it afterwards. Not sure I would find another mint set like these for the price I paid.
  3. And there we have it, if anyone is interested, the layshaft is what was gone, if anyone has their zed still under warranty and has a problem like this I cannot recommend anything more than an independent review by an engineer, it got things moving very quickly!
  4. Get it sprayed the same colour as the rest of the car! Gotta love the facelift bonnet
  5. Is your car under warranty? Judging by the sig it would be an 06 or less? So possibly just outside of warranty? I wouldn't go to Nissan for a rebuild, I would go to a specialist. But how poor is it these cars need gearbox work at so few miles. All I want to do is drive mine now, I miss it big time. I know exactly what you mean Geoff! I was actually in wessex today and mentioned your car! I was querying my "warranty" that i had with the nissan garage i bought my car from. Basically, not worth the hassle!!! Im going to get it rebuilt by someone who actually cares about the job they do! I think they actually mentioned that to my old man earlier when he went down to check on the car for me. They said they had enquiries about rebuilds from similar problems. Lucky I got him to go down as I would never get the time with work! Anyway I had the best news today. Nissan have had the gearbox out since Monday and they have inspected it and found a manufacturers fault so everything is covered under warranty! I'm absolutely buzzing about it. They said a new gearbox would be 6 weeks so they have gone the route of a complete rebuild as they can do this in a shorter space of time. I'm just so glad it's under warranty as I sure as hell wouldn't want to be paying the £3,500 bill! I can't wait to get the car back now and to really start enjoying it

    TAX!!

Bargain really when you consider mine is £435 for the same car
  7. Ouch! I can see people getting caught out on that one, they didn't produce the buldge bonnet for long!
  8. What were you looking at if you didn't spot a brick on the road? Around here you won't get away with that, you'll hit some monstorous potholes otherwise!
  9. Told my brother about this, as soon as he heard I got one he wanted one, we should get some nice footage with my 350Z and his new R32 GTR
  10. I think expecting up to 25,000 miles from a set of tyres is VERY optimisitc unless you drive it like it's a Micra. 10-15k will more realsitic for most. 25k out of a set of tyres is quite a lot!! Mine's on it's second set and the car has onlydone 18k! If they last 25k miles maybe it's time to get something slower

  12. 18 working days they state I'm in no hurry, can't wait to get it though
  13. Let's not get started on Boxster's lol...
  14. It hasn't been easy. It's a car I've loved and wanted for a while and now I have it it's just been a bit of a pain. I will get it sorted regardless, half of me thinks 'oh maybe I should just sell it and get rid', but I don't think that's the right way about it. I just hope the weather stays nice for me so when I get it back I can enjoy it
  15. Mine is sitting in a dealership with no gearbox in it at the moment as all I can hear when I drive is a whining noise 07 with 18k as well. I hope you get yours sorted mate.
  16. Really?! What is the noise like? My release bearing is so loud! And the whine from the box is starting to really get on my nerves, fair enough if the box had 120k miles on it I might understand, but my 20 year old workhorse of a Merc sounds sweeter!!! - And by the way the Merc does have 120k on it. Anyways mine's in Wessex with the gearbox out now and to be honest they're putting the ball in my court, I just don't think it should be this way. It is on Nissan to investigate the problem, not me. They have removed the gearbox and they're waiting on me to send an engineer down, ffs I could have taken the gearbox out myself and got my engineer to look at it at home! I do despair. I just hope this gets sorted at their expense so I can get back to enjoying my car because at this rate I'm losing the love for my 350z
  17. Because Wales is so much colder than England. Haha. I came from owning a convertible for the last 4 years in Wales, it's not colder on the other side of the bridge To be honest when it comes to coupe or roadster it is a matter of preference on shape. They both feel like very different cars. I never looked at roadsters when I wanted one and to be honest I only went in one for the first time last weekend, it was nice but a bit small inside, and in my opinion it always felt like the roof was a bit of an after thought, if I have a convertible it's gotta be a hard top one to make it viable in this country. If I was abroad I'd probably go for the roadster though, as I love the roof down.
  18. Mine's down at Nissan now in Cardiff, I'm not standing for Nissans bullshit to be honest. The garage have been great (Wessex) but Nissan themselves don't want to know. The car has gone down with a report from an independant engineer and it has gone further than the last time. Nissan have authorised the gearbox to be removed and inspected at their cost instead of making it at my cost as they wanted before. Once the gearbox is out the garage are going to give me a ring and I'll be sending the engineer down who did the report on my car. I just hope they fix the car as I love it but this has been a huge disappointment and has tainted my first 6 months of ownership.
  19. I came from owning Hondas to my Nissan. I prefer the Nissan personally and I'm in South Wales, where abouts are you?
  20. You can get a machine that does this, it takes loads of photos of the paint, analyses them and produces the correct colour. As for Volk not releasing paint codes, that's mainly down to immitation companies that could tarnish the name. You wanna try get replacement stickers for TE37's and the such, you can't simply buy them from Volk, you have to produce documents, photos etc!
