  1. ...which happens to be a styling cue from the early Z cars, think 240Z. It's all about the bulge for me
  2. It really does my head in people dinking doors. It's just so careless! When I bought my 350 the doors were lovely, now I have nice dinks on either side, it winds me the hell up! Needless to say I got these dinks from parking my car in work, so I bought a tank of a merc to drive to work in and the 350 stays at home in the garage, safe from dinks! I've even seen cars parked next to me that have dinked mine, I don't have it in me to vandalised their cars and I've never dinked a door of someone else's car. Chances are that Punto is a company car and if you dink it back, they won't be the ones paying, it'll just get billed to their company when the car is returned.
  3. That's classic! He doesn't have a clue what it is, he doesn't even know it's his birthday!
  4. I'm with you. just never had the interest. Prefered football, drinking & women what some people would call a LIFE. Yeh but when you were a teenager the height of computer gaming would be writing 'SHELL.OIL' on a calculator Seriously though, absolutely nothing wrong with gaming... in my early teens i was out playing footy every single day, even in the dark in the winter, but then after tea with my mates round, we'd stay in and play computer games... Beer and women didnt start until i was 15 Haha that made me laugh I can't talk for maccaman but I'm only 24, I was growing up when gaming was really taking off. I just don't find I have time to play consoles really.
  5. I might be the only person that doesn't have a console history. They never interested me, I didn't sit in as a kid, and they wonder why kids are obese these days lol.
  6. Heat and grips will be your friend in this situation
  7. Everyone's got cats and dogs! I've got 8 birds
  8. Stick them on driftworks, they will be gone!
  9. I don't see why there would be any difference. The hubs don't differ between years and the offsets remain the same. Just u that mate... Think you might be in the minority there mate....the most popular fitting on the site is 20mm all round. Some people even opt to go 25mm at the back. Th only reason I havent tried to put these on my car is I am going to do the discs at the same time so have to wait for these. Think I might have to sell these or upgrade to rims with a bigger centre bore (which I can't afford just now ) Cragus, take your wheels off and see if they fit. If not go to CS, top man for the job, he sorted me out
  10. The CTR is such a fun car and punches well above its weight, it's my brother's car, I think he's selling up for an R32 GTR after I turned to Nissans after Hondas. The lockup is pretty handy, means my 350 stays under cover nearly all of the time Wheels look nice IMO, if you want to lower it with height adjust and not break the bank, get a set of BC racing coilovers. Quite a few of us use them, if you order them from the factory with 12Kg/mm springs front/rear, they are an excellent set for the money. Cost about £550 if memory serves. Adrian I suppose this is a completely different topic altogether but I was looking at the BC coilovers, there was a good write up on my350z.com, they seem pretty cheap/reasonable, the sets on ebay seem to have 10kg/8kg springs so I assume the order from the factory is the better setup. My only reservation with coilovers is with the ride quality. The 350z shocks me as being very comfortable on UK roads and I'm afraid I'll compromise that for a nicer stance, what do the BC coilovers ride like?
  11. Thanks for the info guys. Andlid have a look in the media section mate
  12. I don't know if having a 30 profile all round is keeping the rolling radius the same. If you use the link I supplied then you'll see that it keeps the rolling radius as close to original specs as is possible. Don't just take my word for it, give it a go yourself and see. Yes - spot on. Please remember there is a difference of RR from front to rear. Most cars in the UK have the same RR front and rear, which is where the garage will have gone wrong, its the biggest problem we see on here with respect to new wheels. You need to keep the percentage difference in RR the same (somewhere around 2.5-3.5% IIRC), and going by the width tyres you want, the sizes Ekona lists above are the closes you can get and should have no problems Right the place I bought them from are offering a swap on them. Only problem is they only have a few sets in stock that would be suitable. I've been offered a swap on the front set (originally 255/40/20) for a set of 255/35/20. Will these be suitable? If not I will have to hold off until a set can be ordered. Here are the comparisons if I do accept the swap: Fronts: Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 225/45-18 4.0in 13.0in 26.0in 81.6in 777 0.0% 255/35-20 3.5in 13.5in 27.0in 84.9in 746 4.1% Rears: Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 245/45-18 4.3in 13.3in 26.7in 83.8in 756 0.0% 285/30-20 3.4in 13.4in 26.7in 84.0in 754 0.2% From what I understand the diameter must be no greater than 1/4" to 1/2" difference, in this case the difference being 0.3". So what do you guys say?
  13. Front is 45, but this is altered due to spacers, so it's 25 and the rear is 25 with no spacers.
  14. Thanks for the comments guys. They're 285 on the rear. I'm not too sure how low I can go without making the car uncomfortable as the UK has some terrible roads, I'm popping the standard wheels back on until I get some suspension. Any suggestions on that would be welcome. Once I get the suspension I'm going toy with the idea of getting the arches rolled so I can tuck those tyres!
  15. Well I finally got my new alloys on, a set of GTR alloys. Here's a few crappy pics, I will get some better ones shortly. I really like the alloys on the car but they're coming straight off! The back needs to be dropped about an inch, overall the stance needs to be improved. Anyways here are the pics, don't flame me for them being bad (or the fact that the car is dirty), they were taken in bad light with a phone:
  16. +1 not sure why you would go any different?! I'm going by standard tyre fitment, that's all really, you will often find a different profile on the rear to the front on alloys of that size. The tyre calculator is very good to be honest. I will be paying attention to it and rather than get stuck in my ways I will take note of the great advice and swap my fronts, at the end of the day you guys run em and I don't
  17. I don't know if having a 30 profile all round is keeping the rolling radius the same. The profile is a ratio of the wheel width. I think I'm going to go back to the people I bought the tyres off, if they kick up a fuss the receipt I have states the tyre sizes I paid for and I have correspondence showing that after paying they realised they didn't have my size in stock and they suggested an alternative that would be 'as good as the original tyre'.
  18. That's good to know mate. So I'm not going to whip them off and sell them just yet. Standard the alloys have 40 on the front and 35 on the rear, I'm just going to have to get a set with a 35 profile on the rear then. Thanks for the input guys. I just wish I'd realised the importance of rolling radius' prior to buying tyres.
  19. I have F - 255/40/20 and R - 285/30/20. The rears were what I questioned as I requested a '35' profile not '30' but they assured me it would be all good. Maybe I should take this up with the place I bought them although I wish I hadn't bought them mail order now.
  20. There's my issue. I think in my impatience and not realising different profiles would cause an issue I've bought the wrong tyre, mind you I did question that with the place I bought them from and they assured me I wouldn't notice a thing. What a pain in the arse! Car looks nice on the wheels but I can't really drive it, time to crack my commuter back out for the weekend
  21. Seems I may have an issue with tyre sizes oopss
