  1. Well when I looked at mine to be honest I went for the color I thought suited the car the best. I wanted a white one but they're quite hard to come by so I went for black but it's personal preference at the end of the day the 350 looks good in any colour.
  2. No, the dealer requested a new gearbox, but Nissan declined. I've only had the car two months and it has 17,000 on it, had 15,000 on it when I bought it. They will fix it, they just want me to foot the bill for inspecting it. They can get lost. Maybe I should take it to Renault ah well an engineer report will change that.
  3. I've got a whine all the time and locked in a nice warranty battle with Nissan pending my independant engineers report. Bastards won't admit my 17k mile gearbox is no good.
  4. My washer jets have frozen every morning this week leaving me with one hell of a salty windscreen on the way to work with nothing but a bottle of lucozade to de-ice it, and there's no way I'm using that!
  5. No difference if it's an import or not. It goes by emissions. pre-2006 (I think) is 200 odd, someone will tell you the exact figure. But after 2006 it's £400 as is mine, ouch
  6. Love this I live in Cardiff and work in RCT (Rhondda) this morning was fun to say the least. I opted to not be a pansy and give it my best shot, made it to work, but damn, this time of year really wasn't best to convert from a fwd civic to a rwd beast!
  7. okay well it made me laugh, but I really want one!
  8. It's not a good look for Rays. I've had some 10 year old TE37's that sounded in better condition than some of these alloys. I'm sure the weather here doesn't help. Hope you get it sorted out mate, but yeah £50 a wheel sounds about right. There are companies that will come to you and do the wheels as well, they have the whole setup in their vans, they're pretty good.
  9. Oh I see your point and let it be known where I live there isn't one gatso and we have terrible roads in apparently an affluent area. It's just a bit of a joke really. I suppose we could go round in circles. But do they ever consult the general public, the very people these systems are 'designed' for? I highly doubt it.
  10. These kinds of articles really wind me up: http://pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=21159 I'd really like to see what other people's views are on this? Are the government completely and utterly out of touch with reality? Maybe that is a stupid question in itself. They are prepared to waste money on these schemes when we are dealing with sub-standard roads. They say the tories will get rid of a lot of these road safety schemes if they get in, but I trust find it hard to trust Cameron any more than Brown, they're all a bunch of lying tossers Unless you're an immigrant benefiting from our fabulous benefit system what does this country hold for anyone anymore?
  11. ESP is constantly saving my ass! Came out the other morning and it said ICY but I ignored it, turned out my street and I was sideways, and this was at low speeds. Doesn't help the fact that the zed is my first RWD car.
  12. Well done mate, you gotta be pleased with how it came out as well!
  13. I keep telling myself that mate does anyone else have any ideas as to what it is? I'm going to have to check out that a/c belt later on and if there's anything else I can check that would be great.
  14. Might be worth a try, I'll try and take a look at it in the light tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. On a side note I know the cars do well if looked after as a mate had one on 80,000 miles and it sounded lovely. I just get a little disheartened when problems pop up so early on in my ownership especially when the car is so young. Considering I'm coming from owning a 92 civic that never gave me a problem and lapped up the miles to the tune of 160k when I was running back and forth to uni.
  15. Hi guys, now I swear I saw a topic on this before but I've had a good search around and can't seem to find anything. I can't say my Zed ownership has been plain sailing so far and is slowly but surely starting to leave a bitter taste in my mouth which is starting to get a bit disheartening. Whilst the car is great and all, little problems really seem to be getting in the way. My car had been with Nissan all last week so I was without it whilst I've been trying to push on with a warranty claim regarding the gearbox. When I got it back that was all irrelevant as I was so happy to get back behind the wheel of it. Now my problem and quite a concern since getting it back is the smell of burning rubber. Unfortunately this burning rubber smell is not the kind you get from laying down the power it seems to be happening more at idle than anything. I really noticed this tonight when I left my car idle while I went in to get keys to move my bros car so I could get on the drive. I got back in the car and there was a thick smell of burning rubber. I popped the bonnet to have a quick smell but it was dark and I could only smell the burning rubber briefly. The major thing I'm asking myself now is if the car is going to be like this at 16,000 miles I don't want to know what it's like at 60,000 miles. I hope I see 60,000 though, but does anyone have any ideas? I'm racking my brain here, thinking is it the air filter for the fans? But then it happens when the fans are in the 'off' position. So my only other thought is that it's a belt catching somewhere. Any ideas?
  16. I know this is going to sound a bit out there but does anyone think this could be a belt? I got my car back on tuesday and every now and then, sometimes it's quite strong, but I'm getting a smell of burning rubber in the cabin. It's not nice. I'm just wondering if the burning smell is linked to the whine?
  17. Stick to 70 and you may as well be stopped in the hard shoulder lol. I went round Europe with a bunch of mates in a 1.8 190 last year and it struggled somewhat. But in answer to the original poster I think you can put the headlight adjusters on the 350 headlights just read the instructions and you do need the GB sticker on
  18. That was my reservation with the so called hidden costs.
  19. Good to get a review of either side. Have you bought wheels from outside of the UK? Whereas they may be cheaper, I'm not so sure customs take lightly to them?
  20. I'm just trying to do a bit of research before I take the plunge but I'm trying to get peoples reviews of websites/companies that sell wheels internationally. I say internationally because they can usually be cheaper, but then I may stand corrected on this? I'm specifically looking into a set of Rays, most likely 19" TE37's as I'm a sucker for TE's after owning a set on my Honda before buying my 350.
  21. Sounds like you were lucky. Those that have the intakes in their engine bay will be fine, the filter needs to be submerged to suck into the engine, and then you really are stuck!
  22. If only christmas was about spending absurd amounts of money on myself
  23. Sounds like contraction and expansion of metals but quite weird for the noise to be happening when the car is on! That usually happens after driving it. If you are that worried I'd take it down Nissan, just get them to check it out.
  24. You not having any luck with Nissan mate? I'm thinking an independent review is the only way forward. It's outside of Nissan and should expose the problem. I should have that carried out this week so we'll see the outcome!
  25. No worries mate quite amazing how much prices differ isn't it.
