  1. This was the most helpful page i could find about the prob i had http://serverfault.com/questions/235965/why-would-a-server-not-send-a-syn-ack-packet-in-response-to-a-syn-packet It mentions some server side solution too. Not sure how this server is set up.
  2. Excellent work - a huge improvement compared to the old forums
  3. Fixed it! I really hoped that the new forum software would help my problem but it didn't. It made me determined to find out what was going on. After a bit of faffing about with a network packet sniffer it turns out that my laptop / my router / this server doesn't like TCP handshakes with ACK time stamps on. Switched them off and it's all good
  4. Vital testing was carried out this afternoon: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151058334185047
  5. I can't do the discount on the package and the £100 off at the same time. So it'd be £1201.95 - £100 = £1101.95 for everything above, fitted inc VAT. It'd be £781.95 with H-Dev de-cats or £579.97 with just spacer, fitting and remap.
  6. Heres some answers: 1) Yes 2) You would get a small increase in power and better drivability 3) I'd recommend that it is at least checked - depending on what you change will affect whether the existing map is still suitable. We recommend fitting all the parts together and then getting the remap. 3.5) Yes 4) We do a package that is very popular and will give you the best gains - you can choose parts only or parts, fitting and mapping: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info.php ... s_id=25356
  7. All up and running now, so we're running a promo - £100 off mapping in October: viewtopic.php?f=161&t=66552
  8. EMA have a few new dates for engine management training: Introduction to engine management: 9th November and 2nd March Accelerated training course: 8th December Engine management mapping techniques: 19th January and 2nd February More info here: http://emacademy.co.uk/Courses.aspx
  9. We've got our dyno fully up and running now
  10. They're pretty good - the JWT one is interesting too.
  11. Cool - won't take long at all so should be able to fit you in any time. Just call in advance to make sure I'm about
  12. I think we spoke about it while you were in the car during the mapping? I can change it back no probs if its annoying.
  13. I changed the fan on temp to 90 deg C (its usually 100 deg C). Theres no option to change the off point in the Uprev software.
  14. HKS can wiring is in my previous post. There isn't a speed signal wire. The ECU gets its speed signal from the ABS ECU via the CAN network. I don't think you'll get it to work.
  15. I don't think that'll work at all. You need the HKS (and that still might not work) or reflash the ECU.
  16. The speed signal is via the CAN bus from the ABS ECU to the engine ECU, not just the usual pulsed signal. I've not checked but I expect that the HKS speed limiter remover splices into the CAN bus and changes the data so the ECU never sees the speed go over 112mph. You could try to get the HKS box wired into the CAN signal wires on your HR. Easier (and about the same price I think) to get the ECU reflashed to remove the speed limiter. EDIT: just checked and the HKS device does splice into the CAN bus. HR CAN bus is on pin 113 and 114. Still might not work as the speed data could be on a different CAN ID, byte or on a different scale.

    Blue Stuff

I use them on my track car - they're pretty good. Not amazing, but great value for money and no fade.
  18. I've found if you bleed the brakes with the engine running you can force a lot more of the air out. Do it in the specified order shown in the service manual, outer nipple first, use a clear tube - open the nipple and pump quite hard. Can be a total pain sometimes.
  19. Julian from Garage D is doing a lot of the car fabrication work and driving for F+F - saw him yesterday at Longcross Studios.
  20. I went to 15w 50, but the car is only really used on track. It shouldn't do any harm, but will be a bit thick in teh winter.
  21. My car smoked a bit, mainly when the engine was hot - pretty sure its the rings. Compression was good and it makes good power. I "fixed" it by running a thicker oil and fitting an oil cooler. Obvioulsy not a real solution but oil consumption has stopped and it buys me a little more time until it gets rebuilt.
  22. Well spotted - should be fixed now. The complete range is here: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index.php?cPath= ... 3_483_1406
