Ok I must have done the last 40k in another car then 30 in 6th gear would almost stall the engine so if that isn't struggling then I don't know what is, this thread is getting bizarre If you guys want to drive at 30mph in top gear I suggest you get a nissan micra at least then there will be a small amount of pleasure gained from the experience Exactly my thoughts. I am trying to figure out whether 3/4 of the people are taking the micky. If there was an emergency situation and you suddenly needed to accelerate for whatever reason, you would be screwed sitting in 6th at 25mph. Same for things like going round corners, engine braking, etc. I genuinely don't understand how any reasonable driver can drive around at 30mph in 6th in the zed. 3rd gear at 30 is around 2.2-2.3k revs. Once you go below 1.8k, you're losing control of your car.

Seems like I am at odds with the majority as I always tend to go along in 3rd at 30 & 4th at 40.

New exhaust needed: any offers or suggestions?

Thing with Cobra is that if you buy the y-pipe as well, you're getting into the £700ish territory which is very close to a number of other options which sound more interesting. -

Live in Nottingham, work down in Kent at the moment. Any place that can do a decent job at a reasonable cost that isn't too far away would do. If someone can knock up an HKS-style system for reasonable moneys, I'm game. -

Given the situation with prices & availability I may well end up going for the cobra unless I get an awesome deal on a custom jobbie - trying to get a few quotes this morning. -

That's kinda what I was thinking. By not too much noise I don't mean it needs to be as quiet as possible - just don't want to be going down the K1 route. -

Has anyone had any experience with the HKS-style replicas on eBay? Are these any good in terms of fit and/or quality & sound? -

Anyone know of any decent places that can sort out an exhaust? My other issue is that I'd need it doing fairly quickly as I don't intend driving round with ear bungs for too long. -

HKS would tick every box but is definitely way out of my price range. Those eBay ones are tempting though. -
Hi guys, My exhaust has given way for the final time and I'll be replacing it with something as soon as possible. If any traders or members have any exhausts in stock/can order quickly/think would be good, please suggest them below or pm me. My requirements are: 1. Not too loud - I am not going for the rude boy sound and want to be able to speak to a passenger sitting the car. 2. Reasonably priced - I am not setting a stone budget, but let's just say I am really not keen to be spending anything in the 4 figures - the less the better. With the other options it will be a consideration of price vs what you get for the money. 3. Must still sound like a sports car. My preferences if possible are (but not compulsory): i. True Dual system ii. I have the Do-Luck rear bumper which doesn't look very good with standard big back boxes. If the exhaust can come with two angled pipes (similar look to HKS Hi Power) at the back, that would be very desirable *** I've looked around and am considering anything all options from fleabay to the traders on here. Cobra & Scorpion systems seem like the way to go, but don't tick many of the points above.

Is that an import or a resprayed one? Always loved that colour, but pretty sure you couldn't get it in the UK...

panorama - European football
sasha@lazytrips replied to Chesterfield's topic in Off Topic Discussion
As I was born and grew up in the land of the Soviets and have lived in the UK for the latter half of my life, I'd like to point out two things: 1. It is true that Eastern Europeans are generally less accepting of multi-culturalism, different backgrounds, religions and ethnicities as people of different races and backgrounds were not introduced to these countries over a number of centuries as was the case with many western nations. Fact is that these countries are on a sharp learning curve playing catch up and this is more of a socio-political issue than an inherent racism one. 2. Having said the above, it is true that there are some people who could be dangerous and may be racist in Poland, Ukraine and Russia, but make no mistake about the fact that these are an absolutely tiny minority and they are heavily impacted by both the legal forces and fellow fans. I have personally traveled around many of these parts including travel with people of different cultures, races, etc and have had no issues whatsoever. It's all good to make a TV programme which scares people into thinking that the Euro and World Cup have been handed to fascist states that have an innate hatred of everyone who is in some way different to them, but quite frankly that is not true. Believe you me, I disagree on many views that eastern European people have on these sorts of matters including having completely polar views to my own parents, but the lack of understanding and integrating with other people's cultures is not the same thing as hatred for them. Feel free to disagree on the basis of some journos making a biased video, but ask any number of people with first hand experience who will tell you what I wrote above. *** General hooliganism in the stands, fights, lighting fireworks, etc is rife as it is in many many parts of the world, but linking that all in to the racism issue is somewhat of a long shot. -
Some limited edition ones do have rear-wheel drive, but I have no idea whether they look any different.

Hi all, After some success last time round, I thought I'd turn here again to see if anyone knows of anyone looking to let a room somewhere near East/West Malling/King's Hill asap. I am just looking to rent one room and mostly only during the week (4 nights a week). If anyone has a room they'd like to let or knows of anyone who might in the area, give me a buzz. Cheers, Sasha

If I had £260k to spend on a car, I would either buy a state of the art supercar as per the above list or custom build one exactly to my taste from scratch. No idea why anyone would spend even close to that amount of money on the GTR.

I have got to say that the "/France" part doesn't apply as virtually everywhere I've driven on the continent has a far superior supply of premium petrol at virtually every single petrol station I have ever come across. The 100 Octane stuff you can get in Germany is epic.

Nobody is going to stop you for having an aftermarket rear bumper. They will however stop you if you have a rectangular cut out for a UK plate, but you choose to stick a rectangular one on instead.
-
Nope. Bottom one is a Do-Luck bumper (I am a lucky owner of one) and it does look sweet. I have a fully legal square plate that fits perfectly, but I think it was a custom job.

When I hit 156 mph on the Autobahn (read off SatNav), the speedo was showing around 170-175, so at the top end the analogue speedo has a tendency to overread (at least on my car). If I didn't slow down as I had to, I think I would easily have hit around 165 mph as I was still gaining around 1-2mph per second at that point. While I do smell a very strong scent of cow dung, there is a faint chance that he hit 190-something on the speedo which would be around 170 or thereabouts in reality with a few decent NA mods like a good air intake, exhaust, etc.

I actually went and read a few threads. WOW.

Fake Aston Martin anyone?

had a DB9 park next to me this morning while I was waiting in a car park. For only £10k more you get a really epic sound. -
I'm pretty sure Cruise Control would require an ECU change and heated seats can easily be placed in with the right wiring.
-
£250 and I'll personally deliver mine tomorrow morning. Do we have a deal?

GT Passenger Seat Knackered - Help Please?
sasha@lazytrips replied to Mickeywheelspin's topic in 350Z Technical
Most often one of the connectors is loose or needs replacing. If it's not that, it's likely to be the switch (which are also known to go faulty). Try to locate and play with the connector first and see what happens with that and then the switch. Neither is gonna break the bank, so should be a relatively easy fix.
