  1. and of course, the daddy.............
  2. Video of 2009 GT-R being thrashed off the line............. Go to 1:35 http://jalopnik.com/5870777/how-much-fa ... issan-gt+r
  3. I think this was the case 2008-2010 but 2nd and 3rd gen models are limitless. If you do several launches in a row, the car will temporarily disable the launch but it reactivates after a few miles of driving. http://www.exoticsandluxury.com/warrant ... ranty-safe
  4. 8,000 on the rears including 3 or 4 hard track days.
  5. No - but I can recommend the Goodyear Eagle F1A tyre. It came 3rd behind the Conti in the 2012 Evo tyre test but would you ever notice the difference? Goodyear reduces the tyre noise the Z is terrible for and gave me my fastest time round Castle Combe (better than stock Bridgestones or Falken F452s) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f222otgpbw&list=UU4DDF1Q6InWXkVKscz1ij7w&index=2&feature=plcp
  6. True. I was more interested in the price!
  7. Came 4th in the evo 2012 tyre test if anybody is looking for comparisons Behind: 3- Goodyear Eagle F1A 2 2- Hankook Ventus S1 1 -Continental ContiSportContact 3
  8. £29,000. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201151436816264/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/35000/model/gt-r/make/nissan/quicksearch/true/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/bs233qf?logcode=p
  9. +1. Good time to get in. We may not be at the bottom but many think we're close. Also, my "losses" are paper and I vowed not to work out what they were but couldn't stop myself. If 2012 does a 2009/2010 I'll be back. Big time. Good luck with the house-hunt. Let me know if I can help.
  10. Only 1, a truck. They account for about 50% of all vehicles you'll see and should be fun.
  11. +1 on the heat. 90-odd in April this year and hit 100 on a couple of days. In May you will probably have the roof up from 11 o'clock until 5 in Texas. However, when you go over the Sierra Nevadas from San Fran, it'll only just be opening after winter and you'll prob have snow on the ground and it'll be around 40 I've got a load of info on your whole route inc. California, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas so let me know what you need as I've done 3 road trips in the last 8 years.
  12. The load is restricted with the roof down. You can't start the 'Stang if the roof assembly is impeded in any way in the boot. You'll need to pack VERY light with 4 bags. I did a Texas road trip in April this year and L.A./San Fran a few years ago and both times the 'Stang boot was too small for 2 average suitcases and 2 medium sized shoulder bags and we put it them on the back seat. Also, the people in the back will need to be midgets as there is NO leg room. I'd hire 2 cars. Hope this helps: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=48493
  13. In order of greatness: 1. The Wire 2. Sopranos 3. Romazo Criminale 4. Southland 5. Boardwalk Empire (Kelly MacDonald........... )
  14. We can - but be careful. I've just done my end of year accounts. Those of a sensitive nature should look away. My portfolio was worth £130k last December and £168k in March this year. I've invested about another £22k so you'd think it was worth around £190k today?? Nope - today it's value is £80k. £110k "down" over the year. So you think "losing" £110k is bad. Oooooooooooooh no, it's much worse. If I'd bought and sold correctly in the last year in just 2 shares (XEL and RRL) I could have paid for both my houses outright (£180k in mortgages) and bought a 996 GT3 RS (£40k). And STILL have £30,000 left......................yes, that's £250k. So I am £170k down on best case scenario................ Happy New Year.............................. PS - Also just worked out that from the month I started investing on the markets (April 2009) I am £1k better off than if I'd left it in the building society. It is very much a roller-coaster and CAN be upsetting (ever "lost" £30k in a day before?) but it's the only way I'm going to get even slightly rich so I'll carry on. Mind you, is does age you a bit: April 2009 December 2012
  15. You SO need to watch Romanzo Criminale. Makes BE look like Heartbeat..............
  16. A remote release is essential. Nikon ML-L3 - about £12. A good tripod and head is essential. Manfrotto are good and £100 should sort you out. Don't forget flash as well which you can trigger either as the shutter opens or just before it closes, depending on what effect you want. Here's 3 different exposures all with differing ISO, shutter speeds and f stop so you can see what differences there are. ISO 200, 5.6, 1/8 sec ISO 220, 5.6, 1/4 sec ISO 100, 7.1, 1.6 sec I wouldn't go too open with the aperture. Here are 2 pictures with very different apertures. The first was f8 and the second f4.2. I think for your shots f7 and ISO 200 would be fine and then play with the shutter speed. Don't forget to turn on the long exposure noise reduction (if the camera has got it) and set the WB to Auto. Also play around with fill flash (again if your camera allows)
  17. Couldn't get rid of him. Drank 2 bottles of bubbly and set fire to the Xmas pud................and the table cloth.
  18. And that's why, since the 13th century, we've had universally praised legal system where people are judged in court by their peers based on precedent, common law etc. 12 good men and true will decide the fate of "the big man" so that the ill-informed and unwashed (us) don't have to. Personally (even though I'm a bit of a right-wing bully myself) I thought the kid was harshly treated and suffered humiliation, fear and physical pain at the hands of another.
  19. It's coming baby............... From The Independent so now the rumours are getting some credence. "US oil supermajor Exxon Mobil is understood to have sounded out London-listed Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) over a possible deal that could value the Kurdistan-focused group at around £7bn. GKP has a market capitalisation of around £1.5bn and is listed on the junior Aim market, but its chief executive, Todd Kozel, believes the group could eventually go for double-figure billions. GKP is sitting on what is considered to be one of the world's great recent oil finds – Shaikan, about 50 miles north-west of Kurdistan's capital, Erbil – but the regional government is known to want a supermajor on board to properly fund and develop the field. It is thought that the board would not accept the estimated £8-a-share that Exxon is considering and that a number of other companies, perhaps including China's Sinopec and Californian giant Chevron, are monitoring the situation. There is even some speculation that an informal four-way auction for GKP might be under way, while it is also believed that the company has spoken to at least two smaller businesses about potentially developing its assets in a joint venture.
