  1. Strip the boot. Dynamic-mat everything. Job done.
  2. I bought one of these for mine. On the second one now in 2 years. The finish is not as durable as stock. Same supplier too. Ready for another new one. Thinking of going back to a stock Nissan one. What I am planning on doing once I receive the Z badges (front and rear) is to coat them in a few layers of clear lacquer before applying to the body. Hopefully this will protect against the elements and give better durability. I will also do this for the Z centre caps when I order them. Has anyone else tried this? Feedback would be appreciated on the results. Yeh when I had the caps colour matched to the smoked chrome on the wheels they were lacquered and I've had no problem 2 years on.

  4. They look nice in this flavour too. :-)
  5. I suppose it's a Marmite moment. Sorry, but it's not for me. Matt and satin paint schemes only look good on military vehicles. The body kit is very nice, but that's where it ends for me. Perfect 370Z. I think not. Well at least there'll be enough to go round. :-)
  6. Having owned both: In that situation the Z's longer legs are countered by the lack of weight in the Type-R. Completely different motors both good in the right situation. Personally I'd take the Z any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.
  7. 1,000,000 quid. I'd have been running around trying to put it out. Maybe it's all Relative if you're loaded.
  8. You could actually hear the car screaming. Gutting. I just wonder why no one actually thought to throw a few buckets of water on it from the nearby houses. Common sense or is it just me?
  9. Thanks for the code and the work you've put in DH.
  10. Thanks for all the input. I like the Nissan idea of not paying for a bit. I had it looked at by a recommended sprayer by my Valleter Dave Naxton at DPN Valletting. He put a colour spectrum analyser on it to get the match. His quote was in the £400 range I'd trust him to do it.
  11. Yeh. I feel you get what you pay for with painters. I know this colour is the most difficult standard colour to match. The body shop has to know what they're about. £400 just for the roof is about the norm for a proper job.
  12. The mark is about as big as a 10p now and would have to be treated first to stop the spread, so I agree with you in part.
  13. Been down every root, even wrote to the CEO of Nissan UK. He didn't give a flying [*{|< They admitted fault initially and the changed their mind siting "caused by external Forces" a meteorite perhaps ! No, it's over. They are not worth any more of my time and no more of my money. Their customer care is appalling. Trust me on this. I could not be more critical of Nissan UK. I've had so much poor Service from them. It's unbelievable that some Dealerships don't even know about their own product. Garbage! I need to sort this myself my friend. I love my Z hence I'm keeping it or I'd have moved it on because of this incident alone. Pictures of members cars too would be helpful and the type of Carbon wrap they used.
  14. Ok. After a long running battle with Nissan customer care. The inevitable conclusion was they provided exactly the opposite. No customer care whatsoever. I had a paint finish flaw on the roof and the "E" coat failed causing a small blister. As you would expect this has spread. It appeared after 18 months of ownership from new and with my Z now at the 4 year mark and with no intentions to move on, I need to sort this myself. A big thank you for excellent customer service to Nissan who in the end argued with me over a £385 warranty claim on a car which cost £32,728. Quality..... So to the point.... Do I. A). Have the roof repainted (Tempur Orange, notorious to match). Or . Have the roof Di-noc Carbon Wrapped. I'd like opinions and to hear from members who've done similar things and what were the results like. Thanks in advance.
  15. I got done once after being stopped by a marked traffic car with just one officer in it. It was his word against mine, no witnesses or video evidence, which confirms what Ekona said. In actual fact this particular cop car was so far behind me he only actually had visual sight of me once I had stopped at some traffic lights and sat there for 3 or 4 minutes. So his evidence was sketchy at the best, but the 187 year old magistrate obviously believed his word over mine. I never knew that. Ive been pulled in the past by unmarked cars with all their blue lights flashing and thought you had to stop. Or do you mean, unmarked as in non police cars or unmarked cop cars without blue lights? And the moral of that story is ! Take legal council, never represent yourself. You may as well just say "its a fair cop"...... If you're going to contest it. Take a lawyer. If you're not bothered about the points or the fine. Admit it and pay. Our esteemed forum member is not right in this case. It's not the fact that he was speeding here. It's the fact that the ? Bogus officer gave chase without lights or sirens, potentially endangering himself and other members of the public. Justification for that is tenuous at best. If you contest his potential evidence have it argued by someone who knows the law when you attend court. If you don't you'll be taken apart by the judge and yes he will take the officers word. Put the same officer in front of your council and this incident will be systematically be taken apart. Innocent until proven guilty !!! If the previous statement was correct. The officer didn't even need to pursue the Z. You'd just get the summons in the post. Instead the officer chose reckless endangerment of all involved by having 2 vehicles doing in excess of 100mph on a public road without audible and visual warnings in an unmarked ? Police vehicle. What is the officers justification for that? Protecting and Serving the public. I think not. A wink of sleep I would not lose over this.......
  16. You are totally right..... Like you I bought my Z new I expected good service from Nissan. Sadly my experience is similar to yours (poor). You spent hard earned money on one of their prestige models and regardless of "it's only a day get over it" I believe you should be given a car of the same level or above when their product has failed and is in for repair. A dealership represents the marque no matter where you bought the car. You should have high expectation of them. I'm certain the dealership manager will be driving round in a Z or a GTR, he won't be using it during the day, so they should have given you that. If your car is then not ready at the end of the day, that's their look out. I'm certain it would be a good incentive for the techs to get it done. Good service is not difficult, they didn't even know you we're booked. Total garbage. I would be more worried they know what they're about from you description. My only advice is try to look for Dealerships who know the marque and are Nissan sports dealers. Look on here for their recommendations. Always ask if they have a 350z trained tech. Oh.... And never let them wash it.
  17. Absolutely - regardless of Dan's techincal advice around what he legally can do the fact is (again as Dan has agreed with) there is not a wet frig in hells chance that he will do anything about it as; a) he'll have literally no evidence to provide (seriously if OJ can be aquitted of a murder due to an ill fitting glove you've literally no chance of being prosecuted with absolutely zero evidence!) have to justfiy his own speed whilst off duty (we're assuming) hence opening himself to problems c) has not gone through any due procedure whatsoever in terms of a proper traffic stop and doesn't even know what driver to serve a summons upon! (I'm sure our resident plods will confirm this?) Bottom line he was doing what a good off duty bobby should do........pulled over a speeding div and gave him a bit of a good old fashioned ear bashing - some will disagree as he was speeding/not following process etc but bollocks to that, it never hurt anyone years ago and it won't now. The only thing that will come of this is that you think twice before lamping it to 100mph again (which it clearly already has done). Agreed...... Regardless of said Polo mans Insistence, if he was (and I doubt it) a police officer. His observation alone of your alleged speed would have been enough to trigger a summons. He would have had no need to drive in your boot up the slip road to have a quiet word as one would not be needed. Once again regardless, it's said officers word against yours and with no evidence other than "His word" any reasonable legal brief would quickly be able to take that apart. Proof is everything...... I would be very interested to sit in court and listed to the officers justification of why he was driving in said manor himself, which alone and from your description gives rise to safety concerns. If you get your summons, and you won't. It would be worth the money to go to court with good representation and observe how this officers story stands up to a little scrutiny. The police I would think would wish to spend exactly no time and money attempting to gain a prosecution on very limited evidence from an office who's behaviour was as questionable as yours. Lastly...... There, but for the grace of God. I would question and listen incredulously to any Z owner who say that they have not on occasion given the loud pedal a little tickle. If that we're the case "never" done it. My question would be "why did you buy it? Be sensible, pick your moments and don't be stupid. Enjoy your cars responsibly in the right environment. The run to work is not the right moment, in case you were thinking..... Stop sweating, enjoy your day........
  18. Went 2011. Book it. You won't regret it. Guardalavaca, Playa Pascaro. All inc.... Best of both, beach and culture if you want. Nuff said...
  19. I have been a petrol head all my life and owned and driven many powerful cars and bikes. Road and track. we all make mistakes in our driving, but this video record of Genital attached to forehead is not a mistake. its deliberate moronic activity. Having watched this and from an Emergency Service point of view, I'm totally appalled by this set of Oxygen thieves blatant disregard for human life. Not only their own, but any poor innocent member of the public. Their behaviour is totally indefensible and our opinions would be brought in to stark relief should either of these bottom feeders or their ilk injure or kill anyone we love. Wives, girlfriends or god forbid our kids. They appear to be so certain of their righteous indignation. They then decry the same Emergency Service personnel for harassing more of them who were undoubtedly being as brain out stupid as they are. The same people who would have to deal with the aftermath of finding them in a crumpled steaming wreck of a vehicle. Having killed themselves or someone else. The former would be no loss the latter a tragedy. I hope my colleagues in Blue take a very dim veiw of this activity and remove him and he cohorts from public life and consign their vehicle to the scrap metal merchants. The sooner the better. Sadly I am not confident of this, but certain some of my colleagues will at some point have to meet them and try to save these people's lives knowing that they had just been the cause of an innocents death.
  20. Vive Le difference...........I suppose. Each to their own, but deffo not for me. I hope the owner does like it cos I bet is wasn't cheap with all that trick gear on it. I suppose I should talk really when mines been call Chewitts Orange by some.
  21. Those rays with that finish is perfect tor a gunmetal Zed. If i ever get another zed that would be my first mod! They look totally trick on my Tempur too.
  22. Junk the lot its gatbage. Its not Bose gear anyway. It's Clarion (Tin can with a marble in) with a Bose badge. If you want decent sound you need a reasonable budget. Not massive, but cobbling together the stuff in the Z is a nightmare. I know, I tried it and ended up with Frankensteins sound system and it was totally shite. Rip it all out and start wth the basics. A good head unit. A good Amp. And good Speakers. Unless you know what you're about let the pro's do it. youll be happier with the result. If I only can give you one piece of good advice, it's sound proof everything honestly or the interior will shake apart if you apply anything with power. Hope that helps
