  1. Euromillions? Not quite, but for us thinking how best to address a deep rooted issue it might as well be.... Delete all Biscuit and Sarnies posts, that'll reduce the load
  2. I was wondering if it was just me. Can you archive more stuff?
  3. yeah, I'm going to squeeze as many tactile interface bits in as I can, the 10' screen massively limits this. I want to sink it back in aswel to try and shade from the inevitable glare. I'm thinking 4 tbh, I just can't see a way of it looking OK unless it's portrait. I think portrait would look fantastic, but it might annoy me to not be using the whole screen.
  4. Hey guys, So it took a long time for the screen to arrive (as expected) and after that I had to find a US plug adapter and the time to fiddle with it. First up I simply wanted to check it wasn't DOA and all the functions worked as expected. So I whipped a Pi together I've had hiding in a box and booted it up withe the Raspbian OS. Everything worked perfectly and I'm really chuffed with the screen. However... I took it out to the car for an inevitably failed size test as it is rather large! Big surprise. I'd like to hear peoples opinions on which way to go I have four options: 1 - Mount the screen in portrait. Changes from a 10 inch screen to much smaller for lanscape uses (such as films) Will look very integrated and clean could easily have two things on the screen at once (film and climate, one above the other) 2 - Build a mount that brings the screen out from the centre console with extra moulding around it. It will look very aftermarket. will stick out quite far. extra moulding required. 3 - Build a folding mount meaning the screen is hidden when not in use, but sits infront of the centre console when it is. A lot of difficult engineering. The screen may not even package in that space. Once folded out it will still be large and spill out beyond the centre console. May be difficult to make sturdy with zero shake. 4 - Get the equivelant 7 inch screen and use the 10 inch screen for development. less screen space to play with. will definately fit in the centre console with a stock look. lower resolution due to smaller size. Have to pay out for another screen. Have to wait for new screen to arrive.
  5. The only way is to build (or buy) a mount with a damping system to remove the aforementioned vibration. It's totally possible but would just be so much work for little reward compared to just buying a go pro (which is such a great bit of kit).
  6. The Bose system is fine if you do the "Bose Hack" and use the aux in. The speakers reach a good volume with decent clarity. Just depends on how much of an Audiophile you are
  7. I've made my bed sir, so I shall lie in it.
  8. Yeah, agreed. Shame they don't have a Mac version . Xbox only for me then. how dare you! Mac, Skyrim, noooooooo. Why don't you dual boot?
  9. ahh i dont know about modding it on the xbox, only the PC i'm afraid. Where it should be played...
  10. Skyrim has a fantastic modding scene! I had about 40 mods on mine when i played on PC, they were all graphics boosting or glitch fixing.
  11. I think it may be in the app store, look up cookie clicker
  12. Ahh sorry, I'll edit it to Dans link. I use adblock so dont even notice. I wish I'd started in the proper one tbh, the screen size is a little broken in this one.

  14. The way I ended up doing it was more time consuming in the short term but much faster long term. I checked the polarity of an LED marked it down including pads to use tested my new LED was a working one, the polarity, and was of the correct colour de-soldered the old LED soldered on the new LED took it to the car, verified it worked, was at the correct brightness and with no damage Obviously after doing a few cars worth I did them in batches of three LED's or so at a time, but it's a quick job to push the connector half home and turn the ignition round. Breaking the task down to batches of LED's meant that I could fault find as I went along, just in case one LED not working caused others to not work. EDIT: rereading what you asked... You shouldn't need to test on the car I don't think, with the low current provided from the multimeter you get to probe about and figure out what's what. Obviously a lot of the earths will be common, so you'll find you can keep on one earth and probe for continuity on other LED's pads to find their earths, the pad that's left with no continuity buzz will be your feed.
  15. Don't sit on the fence mate - if you don't like something just say Haha reading it back, woops Many years of seeing them, it's the proverbial straw. It's just... they are heavy, small, s****y offsets and fairly ugly. There is litterally nothing going for them, and by the time you finish them in your desired pink or carbon flavour you've spent enough you could have got a second hand set of not **** wheels.
  16. Hmm, it's been a few too many years for me to remember exactly which pads do what. But you need to look at the orientation of them before they come off, you can use a multimeter set to continuity to test the LED polarity. The multimeter sends out a very low current that will very dimly light up the LED if the correct polarity is found. So, check the polarity of the LED (and which pads to use) before you take it off of the board by touching combinations of pins with the multimeter, once it lights you know you found the right ones, mark them up with a pen. Then check the polarity of your new LED's, once you find the right way round, pop them on. What I would say, is that it is very easy to overheat them, best to get some proper flux, dip the LED in it then touch it onto the tinned iron. it'll wick up the solder nicely, make sure the board pads are nice and clean and put the two together.
  17. The whole thread is pathetic as "racing" threads always are. It's just cringe worthy reading peoples stories like this.
  18. This is how I picture that day for him.
  19. They look foul. why the **** people bother with those horrible OEM wheels is beyond me!
  20. As long as it's not 4chan, it's fine by me The rectal sphincter of the internet, passing brown stuff since it's creation.
  21. Haha, the Mrs spends her time on Imgur and me on Reddit, there is nothing on the internet we haven't already seen
  22. I think I'll be joining you with the Pumas next week when i start my new job. Going to have a lot of driving and figure I should probably invest in something decent to drive in.
  23. Use Imgur. it's far faster and cleaner that photobucket and if you don't care about keeping track of the picture you dont even need to sign in etc. you can drag/drop or even just ctrl+v it in the browser window.
