  1. I can see people bulking at the mpg if they do high mileage. I've only put 2,000 on mine since 20th April when I got it (I'm not that sad, I got it on my Birthday, so can remember the date ) so the fuel really isn't an issue to me; unless things change of course. Most people get very hung up on the high road tax, but come on, it's only a couple of hundred quid more than the majority of other decent cars which works out at about £15 per month. Yes, still highly frustrating (as it goes to the money grabbing Gov.), but not a huge price to pay in the great scheme of things. Servicing is bugger all in comparison to the stream of Beemers I've had so doesn't hurt at all. People often compare the 370Z against the Boxster/Caymen/Z4 etc. but these cars are all common as muck where I live, plus, I'd be driving a Porka that was a number of years old, and cost a fortune each time it visited a dealer. I very very very nearly got a Z4M Coupe instead of the 370Z but it would have been 4 years old, 40k on the clock, and an old design (potentially a classic in the making) but I decided I'd go for uniqueness, 3 years warranty, and the Zed factor that has always been unflappable in my experience. I don't want every bugger to drive a Zed, it's OUR marque, let the sheep but the Audi/BMW/Porsche equivalent. It would be nice however for it to still be worth something in the future .
  2. I'm not sure exactly what you're expecting when you purchase a car. Surely 99 out of every 100 cars sold today will drop in value, more likely 999 out of 1,000, in fact. It's always going to be a depreciating asset. All you can hope for is that your purchase drops at a lower rate and your neighbour. I always try to buy as wisely as possible to attempt to help with the depreciation curve but it still always get me. There are many factors as to why the 370 isn't a more common sight, and Toby has highlighted very good insider reasons for this, but I reckon one of the main reasons is the same was why Tesco has reported a drop in their profits (worst in 20 years) - people are simply being more sensible with their cash - not so many nutters like us lot still happy to spunk their hard earned on fuel & tax .
  3. Colin, not wanting to go too far off-topic, but can I ask what your issues were. What was happening under braking (I guess) that was meant the brakes were to blame. My car does pull off centre quite badly when braking heavily but never dont anything about it - I was just wondering whether this is a similar problem to what you had (I've not had a alignment check done).
  4. Oh, that grey 370z Toby has looks stunning (best colour too )
  5. Still stuck in the bunker I reckon .
  6. Given the amount pissing out of my car today I agree with this too .
  7. If he's like any other car salesman he'll be on the golf-course today . Can you fit a set of clubs in the back of a z? Allegedly two sets in a coupe & one in a roadster. Whether you need a thin golf sack or not I'm not sure!!
  8. Ha ha, I'll happily do so if someone could help me with two things -: . 1) how to blank out my reg.plate from the video I've already taken 2) how best to upload full 1080p video clips that range from 200mb to 350mb
  9. If he's like any other car salesman he'll be on the golf-course today .
  10. Yup, take your point about the transmission choice, really a personal thing. I wouldn't let distance put you off though, I've bought from all over the country (often having never seen the car before) before now, my Zed in fact came from Northern Ireland!!!. They'll definately deliver, usually for free from what I've found (some gits charge though), or it's a nice day out to collect a car with a nice journey home getting used to your car - all part of the fun. Yes, EH370 is a dealer, forget which now, but it's in his best interests to sort you out a deal so you therefore wax lyrical about him on here .
  11. Welcome to the madhouse . This is my third Zed car (two 350's before) and can vouch for them being reliable, cost relatively little come service-time, I've not had any 'proper' problems in any of mine whatsoever (squeeky seat on my first 350 about tops it). The fact there aren't many about is the real positive for me. I could have had a Porka, Merc, Beemer if I wanted but didn't want to be part of the usual crowd. The Zed really turns heads and is something a little different and a relative bargain to boot. Definately get an aftermarker exhaust (I've got a Stillen) as that's really the only downside on a standard car. I'd urge you to drive both the manual & auto before making your final decision though, it's a personal choice obviously, but I really think the manual suits the car (especially with the RevSync ). With your budget you'll be able to get a brand spanker (not a new GT Edition though admittedly). Just search Westway as they have brand new Roadster with £10k off (£27k I think); I guess something decent also off Coupes. There's also a chain based in Burnley neck-of-the-woods who seem to offer similar deals of new 'stock' cars. There's obviously resident member EH370, as mentioned above, who I'm sure can do similar deals. edit - a quick glance seems deals not terrific on coupes at present, the roadster (for obvious reasons) is where all the savings are - get it quick and you'll grab some of this heatwave .
  12. No point in trying to beat the depreciation game with these cars. Whilst dealers keep offering these sorts of deals we're all f*cked ... http://www.westwaynissan.co.uk/new-niss ... erGT-offer ...plus I should add, when I nearly posted about this yesterday, the deal was a saving over over £7k, it's been bettered to a saving of over £10k in the last 24 hours. We'll all be driving Micras when our deals expire due to the severe kicking Nissan are forcing upon us all with these deals.
  13. Erm, I can't beleive you guys are getting nearly 30mpg .
  14. The only input I can offer is quite possibly the worse-case mpg figures. My car hardly ever sees a motorway so does a lot of around town driving BUT, my biggest problem, is the bypass that links my house to my office which is full of bloody roundabouts which must me the most inefficient driving there is for tyres/brakes/fuel. I get about 18mpg but drive it how I beleive it should be driven .
  15. Never the answer Rog. Damn you to hell. Etc. Weak ass Hi mate, wrong forum buddy... ...or is it... ...certainly wrong section .
  16. That'll be mid-morning then . Look forward to seeing it.
  17. Good point about the Roadster; would be interested to hear of any suggestions (bar drilling a hole ). As a matter of interest (and to save me reading through everything again ) how much does all this come to including shipping???
  18. ...so if you have a problem, post on here first, see if the techie guys on here can diagnose it, then potentially remove the exhaust before taking it to the dealers .
  19. It's all the new European legislation I'm afraid. When the 3 series saloon was facelifted (57 plate) they came with great big Dumbo mirrors and seems that the same has occured with the Zed. Problem being that you sit so much lower down in a Zed so it's in fact counter-productive and created a danger as opposed to reducing danger. Here's before & after... eh, why won't it thumbnail??
  20. Since when did auto's become more efficient than a manual - they're for old people aren't they .
  21. Unbelieveable - think my key might have accidentally made contact with the other car .
  22. Hi Fred and welcome. Not sure about the fog-lights, orange light, or voice control (never used it) but isn't there a dedicated SatNav manual with all your other paperwork. I'm pretty sure mine has (it's about as thick as the cars manual ).
  23. This was briefly touched upon in a seperate thread but thought I'd conclude my findings here instead. Essentially, it was pointed out that the 370Z should be band L and therefore cost £445 p/a, so I got quite excited about getting one over the DVLA however one factor was overlooked - I've got a Roadster so am in band M so get spanked for an extra £15 (well worth it in my opinion ).
  24. I'll certainly give it a whirl. Thanks for the ammo!!
  25. I've had his before, what do you reckon the out one is when you challenge the DVLA?? That right, they couldn't give a toss!!
