  1. Doh. So, it's quite likely that the oil light is popping up because it thinks there is maintanence due (assuming we're right in thinking that it simply needs resetting until September), but it's an oil change it needs as opposed to an oil top-up??
  2. Right, I'm beggining to feel like a right numpty here, but my engine oil warning light has been on for around 5 days (flashes up each time start the engine), just got some oil today and before putting it in checked the dipstick. Ok, maybe I should have done this first, but it's showing there's plenty of oil in it already. Is this just a false warning?? If you remember from another post recently my maintanence reminder has popped up 3 months (and 3,000 miles early) and it was suggested that I needed to just get things reset. I've not been back to the dealer yet (still waiting for some news on my hood) so haven't taken it in. Do you think these things are connected - is an oil change due at it's second service??? Again, sorry for being a right plank here .
  3. In fact, in addition to the above post (plus I think I measured wrongly - it is raining!!), worth a read here from another forum... OK, the forum police won't let me post the link, but search '370Z Wiper Blades' on another forum called Nissan Sport (with a z after sport!!) should easily find it. Seems that OEM 'refills' are available for £12 delivered. There is a contact on P2 but no reason your local dealer can't source these and they sound a doddle to fit .
  4. Stumbled across this which seems promising... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/549/66014/filter ...including the PIAA ones... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/549/66014/filter Think I might give these a go (in 21inch form x2).
  5. LOL, sorry about this, don't think my search function is working correctly, can't find anything relating to wiper blades in 370Z (or oil for that matter!), but need a new set of wiper blades - which ones do you guys fit?? I'm sure I recall a thread but just can't find it. Opie Oils (just about to order some) are offering 30% off Trico wiper blade - are these any good?? Might just get a set unless you adviser otherwise. They don't have the 370Z in the drop-down menu (just 350Z) so will have to call them anyway. Any advice appreciated.

    What oil?

LOL. Thanks chaps; didn't mean to spark something off!! I did search 'oil' in the 370 forums but nothing came up which I thought was odd. Maybe I'll go half & half to be safe!!!

    What oil?

Yeah, I know I need to but thought someone here might just know and save me getting up . My motor needs topping up but don't know what to stick in it. Cheers.
  8. I think part of the problem is that technically the hood is still 'fit for purpose' in a loose sense of the word i.e. it still goes up & down so owners don't push as hard as they would if their car was unusable (also cause we're British & don't like to cause a scene) and dealers don't particularily pressure Nissan HQ. I'm mean, should it really take over 3 months to locate a clip that is fitted to every single roadster out there?? I'm giving my dealer until next week until I start really kicking off. Also, I don't think a lot of people know their rights (me included), or how far they can push. Plus, I'm quite busy, so pissing around with a dealer/HQ demands a certain degree of commitment time & effort wise, which can be tricky sometimes.
  9. Blimey, that's some 'scratch', a real shame. Complete pisser the lorry driver didn't stop but I don't think I'd expect anything else if I'm honest. Would be interested to heard what sort of quotes you're looking at (just idol curiosity!!).
  10. I should really delete this thread as it makes me look like a fecking iiiiiidiot, but, if it stops any others from lookingike a right tit then this forum has served us all well
  11. So basic. Think you mind just goes into panic mode and the basics go straight out of the window - all I could think of is where can I store it under cover over night!! My dealer suggested slamming the door to see it that would work - classic advice (it didn't!!!)
  12. I'm a numpty!! Thanks guys; fortunately the RAC man hadn't yet arrived!!!
  13. My passenger door window is stuck down - any ideas how to force it up??
  14. Well, there's two of us on here with current issues, mine is still ongoing (photos taken of missing clips but Nissan have taken over 2 weeks to investigate ). They have 'moved' my passenger window forwards but still no better. I think what they mean when they say 'move' is 'adjust'. There is a very small amount of 'play' in how the window sits. It can be rotated ever so slightly, adjusting the angle, which they hope will just shift the edge away from where it catches the fabric. It's bollocks though. Mine still catches. I'm not too sure where this'll end up if I'm honest. Can't see Nissan allowing me to reject the car, whether that be morally right or not, just can't see them playing ball. Whether or not they'll give me a very generous trade-in figure (as I'm half shopping around) but there's nothing else in the Nissan fleet that I'd consider (especially after just buying a QQ+2 for the wife). The up & coming Juke Nismo sounds interesting but probably wouldn't seriously consider one. We'll see.
  15. Spoke to a client of mine earlier who asked how long I'd owned my Zed, I asked who he'd spoken to (as he wouldn't have known what car I drove), he said nobody but spotted me whilst on a business park in Tythington. Funnily, just when I was busy spotting the following Zed (viewtopic.php?f=18&t=62836), I was being spotted myself at the same time I've obviously told him about this place so may have a new member soon
  16. Like a knob I clipped my rear arch on the narrow entrance to my office carpark (in fact, clipped the metal spring attached to the garage door arm), most of the scratches have simply rubbed away, but where the rear wing meets the rear section, it's knicked the paint a little. This is, I only did it last week, the area has rusted over already in that time. Bugger. Going to have to get it sorted out pronto. Anyone any idea of cost?? My local garage quoted about £250 to me the other day saying they needed to spray the whole panel and 'rub' it into the rear section (or something like that). Sounded a lot to me but I'm no expert. I'm really not having much luck with this car
  17. Thanks guys. It'll be back at the garage soon enough no doubt so will mention it. In fact, that reminds me, need to call them...
  18. Sorry, meant to say I knew the parameters, but I'm only at 5,500 miles and 9 months. Is it realistic to say that my 'enthusiastic' driving has brought my service forward by 3,500 miles or 3 months?? Has anyone else had early services (for reasons other than convenience)??
  19. Brief history, car bought by me used in April 2011 (1,750 miles on 60 plate - registered September 10), I arranged its first service in September 2011 at 3,600 miles, and the service warning has just pinged up "Reminder 1 - Maintenance due for: push info..." at 9,000 miles. A little premature surely?? I've flicked through the maintenance menu but can't see anything obvious showing - not sure what I'm looking for if I'm honest but under oil, tyre, filter, other there is no mileage or additional warnings. Is this P2 I'm now due?? OK, I drive it pretty hard, and just returned from a weekend 'hoon' in Yorkshire with my mates over on E90post where I've shown what the Zed is all about to E46 & E92 M3's, a 645i, a Mini JCW and a load of 335i's and 335d's so it's quite possible I've fried a few bits and bobs. Is this early P2 to be expected?? Anyone any idea of cost?? It'll no doubt be going back in soon enough to sort the hood out so they can sort it then.
  20. Is this the laziest 'spotted' post ever - knock on mate
  21. Will, have I missed something but what the frig-a-doodle is happening with the Zed mate??? Knackered wheels, ****ed up roof, bonnet realignment, etc What's going on fella?? Might want to PM me. My roof still isn't right; photos taken of the missing clip and sent to HQ, no word back yet as to the next step .
  22. LOL - in fairness I wasn't parked up properly, I just swung in to get the photo, not stalker-ish at all - honest!! Yup, on the industrial estate, I didn't say exactly where intentionally but now it's been revealed any 'steal-to-order' tea leaves know where to go!!! I live in Bramhall & work in Wilmslow and am usually pootling around locally so keep your peepers out.
  23. Spotted a photo opportunity as I passed this morning
  24. Seeing as there is another member with a roof issue I thought I'd better update my thread. Went back to the Dealers today as they've ordered every single screw/clip/seal for the roof that is available however non of these items/packs includes the clips that my hood needs. I've attached a piccie (taken weeks ago - the roof has now shrunk slightly so looks worse but not got an up to date piccie) to highlight where the problem is - basically the clip secures the side of the hood to the seal and without it doesn't sit right - still works OK though. The Dealer is at a bit of a loss, and Nissan UK are perplexed, so my Dealer wanted to see my car to take some photos of where the missing clip is to send off to Nissan UK for their input. Whilst this is becoming a complete pain in the arse now (and I'm a very patient person) my Dealer does seem confident of resolving things so we'll see how things go from here. Photos taken today so I await a call. The add to my problems, my hood now has a great big watermark on it, presumnably resulting from water leaking in due to the missing clips (my guess is that water runs around the back when I'm driving & sits between the hard cover & fabric). The watermark is on the horizontal piece of fabric that rests on the hard soft-top cover when the hood it up. It's difficult to photograph as you can only see it through the rear-screen so the light reflecting off the window screws up the focusing - will try again on a cloudy day. The sales manager hinted he might order a new fabric roof that they might fit when I take it back (assuming they get the right clips) but we'll see on that one. He's also confirmed that, what is needed to get it right, he'll get it ordered at Nissan's cost. Whilst I'm feeling a bit frustrated at the progress (I'm into my 4th month now) I do get re-assured by the dealer that they're here to support me - just hope it's not false hope. I await the phone to ring for visit no.5.
  25. Any update?? I'm at Nissan all morning tomorrow; would be good to go armed with the knowledge of your findings.
