  1. hope they dont fix the roof and just say xxxx it!!!!! keep the GT-R
  2. also re roof issue and window not dropping fast enough....what I thought was true ....WAS true, the window mechanism on the e50Z was linked to the handle, so as you pull the handle the window drops immediately...on the 370Z it is linked to the door, so only drops when the door is moved....hence it does not drop quick enough and catches the roof. improvements on the old model I think not.... but that is why the window catches. The windows can be adjusted.....by nissans , not the mechanisms though
  3. one thing i forgot to mention, the loan car.....i had been given micra's.........as it had gone on over a year...i got a GT-R with 3000 miles on the clock....It is awesome!!! and I am not giving it back......my phone is now turned off...I am taking it to a remote island with a racing track.......I was not expecting it....so all the hassle i have had seems to have drained away when I sit in it. I smile everytime I sit in it...I have only had it since wed morning....so there is hope if we all push hard enough. I will let you know when and if they fiux the roof....and if they find me.
  4. car now having complete mechanism put on, has cost thm £21000 so far with my car.....write to managing director, forget customer care!!!
  5. had reversing sensors put on mine, they said because of a large metal bar in the way, they had to put them between numberplate and boot not below numberplate....BUT re the sounds, minje sound different. One bleep when in reverse and then starts to beep as you get close to articles. then the sounds get closer together.. but!!! does it stop you hitting things, idf so...they work....NO?..
  6. to all 370Z roadsters with torn roof's. You may recall that my problem had been going on a year, finally a solution. I wrote to the managing director and things moved. to cut a long story short. One of Nissan UK's technical guys came down, eventually, and no more fabric replacements, he has a complete roof inc mechnasism to put on, so no rubbers sticking out under the fabric etc. He told me thay have spent £21000 repairing my car, and was close to replacing it. So all those with torn roofs........forget dealer, forget customer services. Write to managing director at head office, think it was rickmansworth, and that will get things going.
  7. Amazing what a letter to the managing director does. I sent a letter about the roof not fitting and glass catching the roof and his secretary has taken it out of the hands of the customer care office and I am getting an appointment with one of the three technical heads at Nissan GB, who will come down and see the car. Write to the Managing Director and you will get things done.
  8. been following roger's problem with the hood, I have had exactly the same and it started a year ago. Two roofs later, it is worse. Just got the last roof back and it is worse. It is a disgrace that the roof people even gave it back in this condition and even worse that WLMG Mill Hill accepted it back. I have now gone ballistic and have demanded someone from Nissan head office come down. I will also write to the managing director to spell everything out. The windows catch MORE now besides the roof having been put on badly. I will also get car magazines involved if things dont move quickly. sick , tired and fed up.
  9. sorry guys, I know there are two strings re the roof problems . so giving an update on this one as well. the car went back AGAIN and gave it back a week later, needed clips, , I pestered them and they took it again last week. The service guy says, I am not happy with it, I have to get Nissan Technical guy in himself to look. They originally recommended roof people and it just happens it went to those he recommended. So again not done. I should have got Nissan UK involved last year, its been exactly ONE YEAR since this started, I have been incredibly lax about it, which is not me. I have phone Nissan UK, and got a case number. They have known about roof problems for years, as you can see from the forums. I told them, you will NOT be able to rectify this, it is a DESIGN fault, the windows do not drop quick enough to miss the hood. end of!!!! I went ballistic, so she is looking into it , fed up. does anyone have a roof where the glass does NOT catch when you open the door??? peter
  10. does anyone have a convertable roof where the windows TO NOT catch the roof when opening the door. 100% NOT CATCH the fabric roof. Be very interested to know. peter
  11. TO ALL 370Z convertable owners. , the next stage of the saga........, they asked for it back was the last time, they took, it, gave it back a week later, needed clips, , I pestered them and they took it again last week. The service guy says, I am not happy with it, I have to get Nissan Technical guy in himself to look. They originally recommended roof people and it just happens it went to those he recommended. I told them, you will NOT be able to rectify this, it is a DESIGN fault, the windows do not drop quick enough to miss the hood. end of!!!! I went ballistic, so she is looking into it , fed up. will post this in regular section for others to see as well. peter
  12. Interested to know if anyone has the same problem on the 370Z re an air con smell. When it has been on for a while, and I mean a while 20mins etcv, I turn it off and an awful smell come into the cabin, musty sort of thing. I had it on my 350Z and they said filters need changing, but I did not believe it. NMow have the same on the 370Z, just went in for service and report came back, never smelt it so maybe a re-gas & pollen filter, I said after 1 year. So going in again monday, will get up early to run it for 20 mins then get them to smell it. anybody had this.???
  13. when in neutral there is a sort of very slight grinding noise. push the clutch down and it fades.!!!! Just been in for first servgice and I got them to look at this, I think everyone is correct, I think it is just the nature of the car, must be as we all seem to have the problem., shame it is so noticeable.
  14. to all, still not had it sorted, going back on Monday 2nd july for final adjustment, one of the guys said they are going to move the glass forward!!, I said w2hat?, he could not expand, didnt know, so will be interested, but will use a karcher after all around the window and if there are leaks!!!!!
  15. As I said to Will, roof has been replaced and still no good, gave me a story about the roof needing time to settle!!!, going back monday so we will see, I will NOT accept the car back if that window still clips the fabric and also I want a perfect alignment of the rubber seal to be under the fabric around the window. Cant see it happening. To me simple thing is to drop the window quicker than it does at the moment. Keep everyone informed how it caomes back. peter
