Thanks for the input folks but ive changed my mind and im gonna go a complete other route. Im gonna rip the the speakers out and replace the whole system with aftermarket units. I thought putting the sony in would bring the bose system to life as its done with all other standard set ups ive put it in. But i was wrong, its useless. I preffer the standard speakers in my polo There is no volume and thats even with 4V gold plated pre outs, just distorts. Anyways watch this space. Me have plans

If its anything like what this omnia 1 sitting next to me is like then bin it. burn it, run over the useless piece of crap. Its been nothing but bother. If you do go for it make sure the this new one can have the device memory expanded into the storage memory or at least a bigger memory to start with. 90MB is as much good as a pee in the wind.

Right as most know from previous posts ive just ditched the blose unit for my sony but the auto volume thing is still active and i have no idea how to get it to stop. Help its driving me mad

thanks for the input but i dont think it will be this as i have had the unit for about 3/4 years and never had it do anything like this. plus i know most almost all the settings and menus back to front. I think i have narrowed it down to the steering controls, one of the telephone buttons changes the source on radio but it also turns the radio on with if its off. I believe its something to do with these controls. possibly the earth wire that the tag says to cut if i have a sony. Although i did try this and the controls never work to start with, may have to try again. Gilly

Right, after a three day struggle with the bloody car. i finally managed to get my old sony in the car and ditch the blose unit. i wired everything up and it works woohoo. even the steering controls work but there is one problem. when ever i turn the car off, the unit changes source. . as in if it was playing a cd, it plays the radio when i go back to the car. I want to clarify one thing. constant power and ACC are the correct way round. So anybody got an idea??? something to do with the steering controls??? cheers Gilly

hey buddy just got my lead through the post today and wanna get started. Just one question though, the ground wire from the steering control box to the iso with the tab that says cut if you have a sony, pioneer or vdo. does this indeed need to be chopped??? Gilly

i got hynotised on holiday, or at least kinda. It never worked but i didn't have the neck so say it didn't. soooooooo. . . i decided to use it to my advantage, act dumb and have a laugh. With the rules comment in mind this plonker decides not to stop but instead to mount the pavement and carry on his journey. This really really got my goat but, to my absolute joy (and his surprise) coming round the corner the other way was another cyclist on the pavement travelling the other way. . . Yup you guessd it, head on crash OMG i thought i was gonna wet myself. nothing like a little poetic justice. Gilly

WOW im really into this and also possibly the other units from this company too. Im just affraid that the old saying you get what you pay for doesn't apply here. Done a bit of snooping and someone on the golf forum has had one and it seems to be fine but need more reasurance for me to take the plundge. All uk Zed will have the main control unit fitted to coupes. Only the adaptor is required. should be but aint lol.
